Yeah, I didn't even make in the door. I went to see if they had any estate jewelry for sale and also to resize a ring. Maybe it's not that kind of jewelry store - they seemed to have plastic bins of something on the front table in the window - nothing wrong with costume jewelry, but the vibe in there was unlike any "true" jewelers I've been in. There were 3 or 4 people just standing around chatting with the person behind the counter. I waited outside for them to finish up whatever, then took stroll up and down the block, but they never left. read more

Not pleased at all. They made my engagement ring with my own family diamond. Three months later the diamond was loose so I brought it back to them and they charged me an additional $55 to reinforce the prongs. Less than a year later the diamond was missing. I went back to them and they said they could replace the diamond and would call me when they figured out out to better reinforce it. That was in August 2021. I never heard from them so I went back in November of 2021. It was lost in their pile and nothing was done. They told me for another $300+ they could add more prongs since the original design wasn't good enough to reinforce the diamond. It was THEIR work and design. We have a local business a few doors down. I thought I was doing right by keeping it local. Not this case here and wanted to let others know. read more

I have been a satisfied customer of Summit Gold for decades! I travel to Colorado yearly and enjoy stopping in to Summit Gold each year. I have purchased custom made jewelry over the years and have been nothing but satisfied. Purchases included a sapphire bracelet, numerous gold and diamond (as well as quality CZ's) inlaid rings and pendants. My most recent purchase was a custom made gold and pieterstone turtle necklace which I have gotten many, many compliments over. I was just looking for Dave's webpage when I came across this one star review and I knew I had to add my voice. Summit Gold has been a Main Street business in Frisco for over 25 years, they would not stay in business if Erica's review was accurate. Very welcoming and friendly staff. I took a ring in that needed to be resized. I stayed in the store while the jeweler worked on my band which didn't take too long. It fit perfectly after the adjustment and you couldn't even tell it had been modified. I also picked out a pair of earrings while I was in there with some help from the assistant. Buyer Beware! My fiance took a family ring into this shop to use the stones in it for a custom engagement ring for me. After he proposed, I had to take the ring in to fix the center stone setting, which was so poorly done that the stone shifted in the setting with no major bump to it within the first couple months. During the time in between our engagement and our wedding, I lost 2 stones from the ring. I was obviously upset as again they fell out without significant abuse and they were valuable family stones. He did "replace" the stone that fell out, but after the second one fell out within the year that I have had the rings, we decided to take it to another trusted and long time family jeweler. He confirmed the work was incredibly poor and he would not consider whomever made the ring professional jewelers. We documented the rings poor craftsmanship with pictures (which includes solder used over the gold to hold in the rest of the diamonds into my bands, one stone was literally set at a 45 degree angle, what? and the bigger center stone which we purchased from him has been abraded in multiple places due to the roughness and lack of skill setting the stone and the fact that it rubs against the stone turned on its side - completely devaluing the stone. The bands are also so poorly made, that they are wavy and not straight. The engagement and wedding bands can't sit flush with each other because of waviness. Stones that were in the bands were chipped on the surface as well as there were noticeable fractures in the stone. The list could go on and on - and I mean that. I just don't have enough space to continue. Armed with our new knowledge, we took the pictures and other documentation to the shop hoping to just get our money refunded and we'd give back the ring as is and walk away and start over. Upon entering and asking to chat with the jeweler, his immediate response (along with his wife and mother in law) was to yell, name call, cuss, threaten us and tell us that we were the reason for the poor design of the ring. He refused to even look at the documentation we so carefully prepared. This experience has been so negative that they have now ruined my engagement and wedding rings, and the sentimental value (which is priceless) of my fiance using family heirlooms. I don't have a ring to wear now and we are out thousands of dollars because they refused to make it right. I would seriously suggest you go elsewhere for ANY jewelry needs. Like the other reviewer, I am very unhappy about the work done to my wedding rings at Summit Gold. I needed my rings re-sized and soldered ( covered with gold) together. When I went to pick up my rings, the jeweler had sized it two sizes two small, even though we had discussed the proper size. He said he would correct the size. When I traveled (to another town, by the way) to pick up my "new" rings, I trusted he had done the job correctly. The ring, not symmetrical and literally fell off my finger the next day. I studied more carefully and then could see some of the solder, and it was not covered with gold. Yuk. I decided to, BELATEDLY, read some other reviews; I found two negative ones. I had paid nearly $200 for this and will NOT let this person touch my ring again. I went to a new jeweler who agreed the work was shoddy and agreed to fix the problem. He was so very accommodating, but I have to spend more money, so much more cheaply, that I was astonished. I would NOT recommend Summit Gold to anyone. BEWARE. I was totally ripped off. read more
