As a walk-in the check in process was easy. Seems they work with many insurance companies/medicaid/medicare and also offer cash pay options. Do call or ask about your insurance upon arrival to verify. The wait time was minimal and after vitals and basic questions I was seen by a PA-C who diagnosed, numbed and preformed the procedure to drain the infection. Prescription sent to my pharmacy. The staff was professional, helpful and excellent in providing the needed medical care. A couple days later I did a follow-up with my usual Doc. He said everything that was done and Rx was exactly as it should have been. My hand is healing nicely.

However I sat in my room all afternoon and didn't see a doctor until the next morning. In the ER they discussed the 'cardiac team' that was going to guide me through a testing and treatment plan but the 'team' seems to be mythical, there is no 'team'. Dr Wani was mentioned by just about everyone but I never saw the man, even when I was taking a stress test. He must be very busy. Good facility but disappointed with the medical management.

A family member was in FMC PACU and extended family traveled from Hawai'i, Tucson, Phoenix and…read moreacross the country to see the family member, to be told we weren't allowed to wait in the identified PACU waiting room and were required to only wait in the main entrance waiting room by the information desk. In addition, the info desk noted they chose which waiting rooms were rotated and allowed visitors, therefore if we went into the identified waiting room the day prior it wasn't an option for the same visitors the next day, although there were other visitors in the same waiting room. The info desk female chased me down the hall to berate me about other visitors in the waiting room and threatened to take away visiting privileges for the family member in the ICU/PACU. To have flown over 7hrs from overseas and to be told I wasn't permitted to wait in the specialized waiting room was extremely unprofessional, when other visitors were also in the waiting room. The staff in the specialty could have addressed any concerns with visitors in their own waiting room. The experience at FMC was extremely unprofessional and rude to family members traveling afar. Family members are present for an emergency, not to just hangout in a hospital. The last thing anyone needs in a stressful situation is to be treated rudely by staff. This isn't my first experience at FMC as a guest and it's left a horrible impression on me.

This location is definitely smaller than the typical Banner hospitals I've been too and that was a good thing for us when we arrived because family member didn't have to wait at all. The reception woman at the window was so kind and full of smiles and in a stressful situation I was so thankful for that. We were called back quickly and everyone we encountered was wonderful. They listened and made sure my loved one was taken care of...it meant even more because they were so grouchy and I thank them for their patience.,I've never given such a high review for an ER at a full service hospital before, but they definitely deserve the praise.

I arrived at the hospital around noon and they told me I had Covid about three in the afternoon. at 7:25 a nurse came charging in the room and literally told me to get out. I was wearing nothing but pj,s and house slippers. nothing else. she told me to take. taxie home or go to a motel or to set in their lobby. I had no money or credit card with me . this was November 17 and it was really cold out and I live 40 miles from this place. can you imagine telling someone 80 years old to get out , take a taxi 40 miles or go to a motel without any money or card with them, or to sit in their lobby with Covid. they could have told me to get out earlier during daylight . thankfully my neighbors drove the forty miles to get me in the dark, and they are also elderly. if I could find a lawyer I would sue.
