Took my 25k diamond ring in to have it sized bigger to 6 1/4. When I picked up the ring, it was very tight. ( I purposely went with 1/4 size bigger to be safe). They insisted it was size 6 1/4. Didn't make any sense. Took it to another jeweler to get a second opinion and the ring was around 5 3/4. By the way, he got mad because I took it to another jeweler for second opinion. Found out he neglected the built in beads which is about 1/2 size into consideration when sizing. Therefore the result was 1/2 size smaller. They still insist the ring is 6 1/4! Now the ring will be compromised, the beads were an extra feature that I really liked, now I have to get rid of them in order to fit! Refuse to resize as this ring already has been sized twice. I feel deceived and lied to. At this point my trust is gone and can't let him 'fix' the ring. You try to support local business and this is what I got. Never going back! Paid $350. More to remove the beads elsewhere. God will not allow Deceitful business to prosper. read more

I wanted to really like this place, but in the end I can't say with confidence that this is an honest establishment. I needed some minor work done on a piece of jewelry that I had - their service was fast and unquestionably sound. The person working sold me on how he does a lot of custom work and I kept that in mind. I went back to request a custom piece based off something I saw online, understanding that I'd pay more but it would be unique. After a few weeks I received a call that the work was done only to later realize that they purchased the piece I showed them online and charged me over 100% markup. I won't be going back or recommending them - I'm greatly disappointed in them and myself for allowing this to happen. My husband inherited his grandmother's diamond engagement ring a few years ago, and we've been wanting for a while now to use it to upgrade from the white sapphire that we used in my ring. The jeweler we originally purchased my ring from was wonderful, but very sadly no longer available, so I took some time looking for a local shop that would possibly provide the same feel of local-ness, and sense of trust that we had in our previous jeweler. I received a mailer from Summit over the holidays and held on to it until I was ready. I'm very happy to be adding an additional positive review to the others that ultimately led to me settling on bringing the rings here. When I arrived I was instantly met by Jordan, and when he laid eyes on the diamond he kind of lit up with enthusiasm. He informed me the diamond was an old miner's cut and gave me the history of that particular cut, along with his assessment of the diamond, of which he said it had a lovely clarity, a mostly round shape, and no fracturing for its age. I very much appreciated the additional story that he gave to a family ring that I plan to one day pass down to my daughter. Aside from replacing the sapphire with the diamond, I also wanted the ring re-dipped and cleaned, which he said was all included in the quote he gave me. I didn't shop around prices so I can't be helpful in whether what he quoted me was 'good', but I had an amount in my head that I wanted to spend and his quote was just under that, plus genuine enthusiasm really goes a long way IMO, so it was a done deal for me. He offered to buy the old yellow gold ring as well, and apply that amount to the price, but I ended up keeping it. I dropped the rings off on a Friday and he said they would be ready by Wednesday, but he ended up calling me early Monday morning to say everything was ready, which was super awesome. I can't speak for all ladies, but I know several (myself included) that don't like parting with our bands for long. Plus I absolutely wanted to show it off as soon as I could. I'm honestly beyond thrilled with how lovely it turned out. I feel like I'm newly engaged all over again, with the amount I spend gazing at it as I make it flash under every good source of light I come across. My only regret is that I didn't have my wedding band re-dipped and cleaned as well. Had Jordan suggested it, I would've taken him up on it immediately. I'll definitely go back to Summit to get that done at some point, and maybe also turn the old sapphire into a new piece. Hopefully that experience will be just as wonderful. I really like the idea of having a local, trusted jeweler that I can provide repeated service to. I've included pictures of the two rings after the swap, with the old sapphire just sitting in the yellow gold setting (for picture purposes). Brought in a gold necklace that needed repair and was asking about my watch that the battery died quickly after last replacement and asked about ring resizing - they do their repair work in house and they replaced my watch battery for free as a trial to see if the watch is draining it quickly and needs work or will be good with replacement. They're a little far from me but quoted great prices and have great customer service - not to mention dogs are inside! Do not be put off by the long drive or lack of a big fancy showroom. I told Jordan what I was interested in, and he told me he would send me a design later that day or in the morning. I got a ping on my phone that evening and he had the design ready. We came in the next day and went over the design and were told it would be ready in about 10 days. One week later we got the call it was ready. Excellent craftsmanship and I felt very reasonably priced. Well worth the drive to Leander to work with a courteous, professional and LOCAL jeweler.
