I have never had a jeweler until about 8 months ago when I was introduced to George Poe and Cedar Park to have an engagement ring made for my now-wife. My experience has been fantastic, and needs no embellishing or exaggeration because I have been treated with first class service since day one... I contacted George to explain that I needed an engagement ring (and he let me vent about the designer jewelers as well). I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend on our move from Washington DC to Houston, which he reinforced was a GREAT way to start our "new" life in Houston. I talked to George for the first time on December 6, 2011, and he told me it would take 3 weeks to construct the ring. George personally called me at least once a week through the process of building the engagement ring to make sure it would be exactly what I wanted. On December 26, 2011, the ring was delivered to my house in Washington in plenty of time for us to leave the first week of January. I will never forget opening that package and seeing PRECISELY what we had discussed. I immediately called George to thank him, and have never been so excited to settle a bill with someone. George answered my call (the day after Christmas mind you!), and explained that instead of charging me our agreed-upon price that he would only charge me 80% of that price. I was happy yet confused, and when I asked him why he said that he, "knew how much of a pain in the butt moving is and would help out a little." Hearing that was awesome, and I knew I would at least have my wedding band made by him!! Fast forward to June 1, 2012. I received the same service and attention I had earlier (and my ring was WAY simpler!). I had the ring in plenty of time for my wedding, etc etc. That's not the reason George and Cedar Park are amazing, it's what happened next... I had my ring finger sized by a shop near my house in Houston, which put me at an 11. When George delivered the ring to me, it was about a half-size tight. George took it back to Austin with him, re-sized it, and it was back to me in two days. After a wonderful wedding weekend, I went back to work on a Tuesday. On Wednesday my ring got caught on a piece of heavy machinery that chewed it up pretty badly. Since I work around dangerous equipment I had planned on getting a stronger and scratch-resistant ring, but had not had a chance to order it yet. I screwed up my ring the first week I was wearing it, and I was devastated. I sent it to George to see if it could be saved. He called yesterday to tell me that he was not satisfied with how the ring looks after refurbishing it, and is making me a new one AT NO CHARGE on one condition: I wear the heavy duty Dura Cobalt ring he is also sending me when I am working around the heavy machinery. Pretty freakin' amazing!! George and everyone at Cedar Park have taken the time and paid attention to everything I have ever asked for from them, and then taken their service to levels beyond that. Whether or not I continue to get 3 bands for the price of 1, I am a customer for life. read more

I want to preface this by saying my grandfather was a diamond distributor, so my whole family always uses a specific store in Michigan, where we get great service and prices. If I could Give Cedar Park Jewelry more stars, I would. Don't waste time looking anywhere else. My wife and I moved to Austin recently, and for our anniversary, I wanted to surprise her and get a diamond put in her wedding band. I called almost every store in town, and very few were willing to accommodate me. Many wanted to view her ring (which would ruin the surprise). Many also said the turnaround would be 4-7 days. The prices were obscene, and it got to the point that I was considering telling her the gift, overnight shipping the ring to Michigan, having them put the stone in and overnight it back the next day. Sad as it was, the price and turnaround time were still much better than anywhere else. I then called Cedar Park and spoke with George. He listened and spent phone time with me explaining options and rough ideas on price. I was so satisfied that I went in later that week. We worked out that I would get a diamond to actually give as a physical gift, and set an appointment to come in and set the stone while we waited. My wife was shocked, and we came in. We knew the diamond may not fit, and we easily exchanged for the right size and cut. George worked hard for us to match color and clarity to that of her engagement ring so they all match up. Because of the change in cut (round to princess) he was very up front and said that they would be unable to do work while we waited, but if we dropped off the ring the following morning, they would have it by the afternoon. They met me an hour before open so I could get to work on time, called to let me know it was ready earlier than expected, and called after my wife picked it up to let me know how excited she had been about it. I think I spoke with the entire Poe family, and after speaking with each one only re-enforced my feelings that I had gone to the right store. My wife LOVES her ring. She was never a part of the cost, and they never let it slip to her, as I wanted it. They went out of their way to work with me, and were the only ones around who could. On top of all of this, they charged significantly less than any other place I had spoken with. I was spoiled before I moved, and have found a place that spoils me again. On a friend's recommendation, I took the trip out to Cedar Park to ask Whitestone Fine Jewelry (George) to create a custom ring. I brought along some old rings and necklaces hoping they might be able to use my materials and incorporate some sentimental stones I already had on hand. George was very helpful and patient with my many questions. We talked through several options and he wasn't trying to sell me anything. He was wholehearted interested in creating something I would love while keeping cost in mind. They developed several computer generated renderings so that I could approve the work before they did anything to my existing pieces. They were able to use my materials and stones, which made me very happy. As soon as I approved the final rendering, they started the work and it was completed within a week. The ring is absolute beautiful and really exceed my expectations. I am very happy with the entire experience and would recommend Whitestone Fine Jewelry to anyone. My only suggestion is to be courteous and make an appointment ahead of your visit. If you're interested in a custom piece, do your homework and be prepared with photos and details. Do you have a family jeweler? Well we do. I stumbled onto Cedar Park Jewelry when I was trying to sell my first Wedding ring. They bought the stone with the diamond so I gave them a try. I felt the price was fair. So fair I sent my mother there for my grandmother's estate jewelry. Of course while I was in there I found the wedding band I had been searching for for years and at a very reasonable price. So I bought that to make my current wedding ring a perfect set. I was in LOVE. Well after losing 100 pounds I needed to have my ring sized. So I took it in to get resized. Unfortunately I was the first project of a new jeweler they hired. He ruined my ring. Of course I was devastated because I had finally found the perfect ring. So I took it back into George, in tears of course, and he said well make it right. So here I am looking at what looks like an identical ring to my first - he made it right! But wait it's a little different... There are 3 more diamonds in my band now! I'd say that ABOVE AND BEYOND! So you have to ask yourself is it more important to have a jeweler that gets it right 100% of the time or a jeweler who gets it right 99.9% of the time and goes above and beyond to stand behind their work? read more

For anyone who rates this place less than 4-5 stars, evaluate your day and personal problems, and kindly acknowledge that if your feelings regarding this establishment are less than superlative, then maybe your bad day has negatively influenced your perspective. This is the best jewelry store anywhere! I have lived in many states in my 50 years, and visited many establishments in my lifetime. NEVER have I found such a serene purchasing experience. Not only was the initial purchase 5-star, but satisfaction with my relationship with George and his entire team, grows beyond my expectation, every 3 or so months when I take my jewelry in for inspection, cleaning, and rhodium plating. Their selection is diverse and exceptional...their pricing is fair and usually lower than the commercialized chains...and their follow through on service and maintenance is unmatched anywhere!!! Before you buy from anywhere else, visit these guys. If you choose not to use them, so be it. But if you do....you will find that you have not made simply a jewelry purchase, but you have gained a relationship with a team of professionals that genuinely care about your jewelry purchase and upkeep beyond expectation. read more

The locally-owned shop is as trustworthy and as professional as they come. I had gold, silver, and other jewelry to sell, and went to this store early in 2011. The owner spent several hours reviewing the items we had, giving me explanations, prices, and value on over 50 pieces of jewelry -- not official "appraisals" but his judgment. He gives honest prices and honest opinions. We did not sell then; we waited until now. With every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to get into the gold business these days, it was nice to know that when I went back to Cedar Park Jewelry this week, the quality of service, concern for giving us the right price, and the professionalism hadn't changed. Yes, they're busy now, but they know their business. They will pay for REAL gold and silver, and KNOW what they are looking at. Many places are staffed with folks who don't know the difference between 10K, 14K, white gold or silver, and while those places *may* pay you more for junk, they often pay you less for the really good quality items. Thanks CPJ for being my go to Jeweler! I love my new pave diamond wedding band!! George Poe and staff are extremely knowledgeable about their jewelry inventory, and are very reputable. I have been dealing with CPJ for over 5 years now, both in selling my gold and silver as well as purchasing new jewelery from them. I find them to be honest and above board when selling jewelery to them. I always get a weight and explanation on the payment calculation. I have never felt cheated or gamed by them. I am in control of taking their offer or not. l trust them to give me a fair price, be true to their word and stand behind their work. I have had my mobe pearl ring repaired by them twice (i keep scratching the pearl), every time I pick it up, it looks brand new again. It's always done on time and at the price quoted. Unlike some retailer whom systematically replaced my high quality diamonds, with lower quality crappy stones, and told me I was mistaken ( like I can't see that my stone has a yellow cast to it) I trust CPJ with all my jewelery. I have known and dealt with the George Poe Family for almost 40 years, and have always found them to be honest, Christian people who take pride in their work and always treat friends AND clients fairly. George, known for his great Hawaiian shirts and wonderful & winning personality, has developed a successful business based on his competitive prices, honesty and a complete trust he has earned from his MANY happy and faithful clients. When he moved his growing business to Cedar Park from Pasadena, my husband and I now make the 3 1/2 hour drive to do business with him. Twenty years ago, he designed and made both my sons' wedding rings for their brides, as well as many beautiful pieces designed for me over the years. They are all still beautiful and worn with pride. George Poe deserves all the stars he is the brightest. I have been buying from George ( the friendly man in the Tropic shirts) for more than 15 years. Each experience has been better than before.I have sold gold, had custom items made, bought new and second hand items. I have never been disappointed only excited. George has a sales team that rank at the top they are all friendly and ready to help. I have found If George doesnt have it you probably dont need it. His honesty, respect, oppintion, is always with customer in mind. If you go to Goerge Poe once you wont go any where else you wont need to he is your friend for life with all your jewelry needs. I shop at Cedar Park Jewelry on occasion for silver jewelry. They have a big selection of silver and its very reasonably priced. I went into the store two days ago and I browsed the silver and this time I only found one small ring that I wanted to buy. The lady told me that they clean up the silver you buy and she took the ring to the back to have it cleaned up. Before she went to the back, she asked if I had shopped with them before. I answered that I had and she smiled and said she would be right back. When she returned a few minutes later, she said that since all I wanted was the one small ring and I was a loyal customer, that today my purchase was on the house. I couldn't believe my ears! Yes, it was only going to set me back a whopping $4 (their prices really are reasonable!), but still that was such an unexpected surprise. This place does it all and keeps your stones/metals local to do the work. Rosaline just finished helping my son pick out an engagement ring, me pick out a replacement wedding band, and their in-house jeweler just did some custom work (stone replacement) on an heirloom jewelry piece of mine. In the past we have also sold back gold here, and had items resized. I've even purchased a few of their "estate" items (resale) that you just don't find on the market anymore. After having a very bad experience at Clarkesville Gallery (Rings Unique)--yes owner, Tom, shame on you-- on N. Lamar, I no longer bother to try and shop artistic/boutique jewelers, and will certainly not shop Clarkesville anymore. Prices are reasonable, you know what you are being charged for each facet of the work, and turn around time has always been within 2 weeks or what they quote me. read more

I've been a customer at Whitestone Fine Jewelry for at least the last 10 or 15 years. I've purchased, sold, browsed, had jewelry repaired, re-sized, custom ordered and requested custom designs. Without exception, this store and its employees have delivered THE BEST service. Each time I visit, they offer to clean my jewelry. George is always personable and fun to talk to. A few years ago, they really went to extra mile to help me with an expensive watch that needed to be sent to another country for repair. I've worked with Noel for several years. Most recently, I've also gotten to work with Kam, Layna and Miranda. My most recent request-- removing the battery from all of my watches-- was done so quickly AND they would not even accept any payment for ALL of the time and trouble. I was frustrated with other Austin jewelry stores who showed me lower-quality stones, trying to upsell me on other diamonds which were not what I was looking for. We brought some sentimental sapphire pieces to CPJ (liked ad on TV for some reason) to have my wedding ring designed and made...we needed it for our wedding which was to be in 2 weeks!! George helped us design the ring and had the first draft made in a week and it was beautiful....we tweaked a few things and the result was ready in a few days...plenty of time for the wedding. I LOVE this ring!!! Have been wearing it for almost a month now and it feels like it's been on my hand a lifetime! Also bought husband's band here and we are both happy. George made us both feel comfortable and confident about the process and we will be back.
