No wonder they're going out of business. Their hokey marketing schemes lead you to believe a markdown on an item is imminent (one that would begin to make the item competitively priced). Then they send a sale notice 1 hour ahead of the sale start and require that you be present, give your contact info in a registration to be eligible for the sale price (even if they already have your contact info registered for another event). They're so caught up in these marketing hijinx, they're not even liquidating smartly... I tried to purchase a ring over the phone on a day it was discounted 15% off the 70% off price. I was told I would need to be there in person to get the additional 15% off (after I'd already explained I couldnt; the 1-hr notice of the sale was insufficient). So instead, they sold the ring later during their Santa grab bag whereupon the absolute minimum they discounted it was 15%, but may have been as much as 50%. What kind of sense does that make? The lady who interacted with me both times I was in the store is just not personable at all. And last, they have a parking lot with a sharp dip across the entire driveway that can damage a vehicle getting into it (as it did mine). I feel sure I'd have a better experience at just about any other jewelry store. read more

I called around to check on prices on watch batteries. They ranged from $7 over by Braker Lane and I-35 to $13 at Cedar Park Jewelery to $20 and up at Fast Fix Lakeline Mall and $10 at Burt Witcher Jewelers. Since Burt Witcher was also closest to me, I chose to take 3 watches to him for batteries. I had a Seiko, Hilliard and Hanson, and Swiss watches. He was fast, set all the watches to the current time, and very professional. I wish I had time to check out the items offered for sale... maybe another time. read more

My wife has been searching around for the pandora jewelery, and this place seems to be the only place closest to where we live. I was somewhat skeptical before we went there. It sure looks like your typical grandma's jewelery because the owners are the mother and son. I personally don't like the chain jewelery stores because of the pushy sales people. Here, they are extremely friendly and low key. I definitely enjoy that. Since what we purchase was the same price everywhere, so pricing wasn't an issue. The selections were great as well. I brought my custom made band here for repair, after recommendation from a friend. My diamond is very sentimental to me, an heirloom from my parents wedding band, so I don't trust just any jeweler for repair. Burt was amazing! He completed the repair quickly and beautifully. I had some jewelry from my mother passing that I wanted to sell . I know she paid $4500 for one of the rings four yrs ago. I took all of the rings to three different Jewel stores . Two were very close in price but nowhere near what she paid for the rings originally. No surprise resale jewelry does not have much value. But this place offered me just a little over a third of what the others did. She was either incompetent or trying to take me to the cleaners. Wouldn't shop there . read more

Several years ago, I brought a watch in to Burt Witcher for a battery replacement, and they kindly honored a competitor coupon. I recently had brought in two chain rings; one to resize and another to be made in to a bracelet. That was, I imagine, not the largest revenue made in their day but it didn't stop them from treating me politely, professionally, and with serious attention to my wants. Everything was double measured and confirmed, and the final price was what they quoted at the start. They had the work done sooner than expected, and were timely in all their communications. The finished pieces are gorgeous, and were cleaned and polished to new condition. My wife and I and my parents have been customers of Witcher Jewelers for a number of years. We've purchased a few items as well as had repairs made here. My oldest daughter called me last week and asked me who I recommended to have a setting replaced on her wedding ring. I told her without hesitation, Wichter. She went in Thursday at 4:50 PM and she was told $285 which she thought sounded a little high but left the ring anyway. She came back by my house and told me what she had been quoted and I expressed, that sounded high. She got home and her husband said the same thing. She called Burt the next morning and told him that she was going to pick the ring up just to get a second opinion. He said that was fine. She went and picked it up this morning and told Burt's mom brought it out and my daughter very kindly asked her to keep the info on the ring because she was going to get a second opinion and if Wichter's ended up being less expensive, she would bring it back. The mom very rudely said, No, don't bring it back here, we don't deal with people like you. My daughter said, excuse me, you're not going to do work on my ring just because I'd like to get a second quote. The mom said that's right, we don't do business with your kind. My daughter explained that we and my parents have done quite a bit of business with you and my dad recommended you. The mom at that point asked who we were and then her attitude became much friendlier but by that point my daughter said, no thank you, we will have the work done somewhere else. I'm pretty shocked at that attitude and we won't be going back in to their store. read more

Took my Rolex to have the Lens replaced(old version that has a non Sapphire lens but I wanted to have one put in) . They advised me that they send it to a certified Rolex dealer to have it done. After having it a few days the gentlemen called me back and informed me that this particular model could not hold the Sapphire. The watch was returned and placed back in my safe by my wife. Today I went to put it on and there was a very distinct noise coming from the inside of the watch. Something was loose. I called up to the store and was basically told that nothing was done to the watch and a refund had been issued and that they were not liable for anything that was wrong with the watch. I asked that she give me the name and number to the Rolex dealer that looked at the watch...she would not do that. Said that for $450 more dollars that she would send it back to the gentleman that screwed it up but would not tell me who it was. UNBELIEVABLE. Shocked to say the least. Stay away and go to a reputable dealer. Ill post a update once its repaired so I can verify what was done. STAY AWAY....You've been warned. read more

Went here because they were the closest jeweler I could find. I will not be returning. I knocked out a couple of diamonds from my ring and needed a jeweler to put them back. While Burt and his mother were inspecting my ring, they both told me that my ring was of poor quality and the diamonds were cheap. This continued on for probably 10 minutes. Had I known another jeweler, I would have immediately left. During the week they had my ring, I almost went to pick it up several times because I really didn't want to give them my business, but I really wanted my ring fixed and back on my finger. The actual cost to fix my ring was more than the original quote also, but they did at least fix it. I definitely suggest going to a jeweler with a better attitude. read more
