Sumner RV repaired my awning using original OEM parts. They did an outstanding job quicker than other RV repair shops

We took our Trailer furnace to Sumner RV and they charged us $350 for a new mother board. My husband installed it, and the motor was having problems and we took it back to Sumner RV and they charged us almost $550 for a new motor. $200 more than they quoted my husband. My husband is too nice to say anything, but shoot. We could have bought a whole new furnace for almost $900 that we paid to fix it. We will never go back to Sumner RV. Rip off! read more

Purchasing our RV from Sumner RV in 2012 was great. Found out we had a leak and was told it was on the slide out. Paid 3000+ for repairs and stored for the winter. While on the roof for our first trip out I see the back corner of th RV slathered in calking and the corner is spongy. Looks like the corner of the roof is where the leak was. No one ever mentioned a problem with the roof, but obviously it was bad last year. We would have paid to get it fixed right if it had been mentioned to us. We had been looking for a travel trailer for 2 weeks. We stopped into Sumner RV Center, and started looking at a small Nash trailer. We liked the trailer and as we started to walk over to look at another trailer, a young man stepped out of the dealership. He asked us what we were looking for, we explained a trailer under 5,000 pounds. He was very dismissive and told us they only deal with "high end" trailers. That the 17 foot Nash trailer was way over the amount we could pull. He walked over to the side of the trailer and said that you had to subtract this from that and that the trailer was too heavy for our truck. We had already checked the weight of the trailer it was 2100 pounds. He was first salesman who had looked at the side of the trailer for specs, instead of inside the door. We both felt he didn't want to sell to us, it was the first time we had this experience with a dealership. We wondered if the reason he treated us like this was because we were two women looking for a trailer, with a young boy. read more

Nice folks, but attention to detail is lacking, so is communication. Each time I take my '17 43' Forest River 5th Wheel for service, most of which has been manufacturer's warranty work, the trailer batteries have been stone dead, causing delay and heartburn hooking up and dropping off at my storage location. I've even had to replace a battery already. The dead battery problem, is not only hard on the batteries, but one of the service items has been to reset the Auto Level, several times now. But the batteries dying wipes out the reprogramming they do...every time. This last time I took the trailer in for a tear in the flooring, due to the slide dragging on the floor, which they said would no longer be covered under warranty. So I just had them patch it. Well, the workers tracked in gravel and didn't clean it up, so after they patched the tear in the flooring, they created a new one and several little ones putting the slides in when they were done. I wrote and sent pictures to the Owner and Service Writer. The Service Manager called me and asked me to resend the email and pictures to him, but then never called or replied. They also had to remove, trim and reinstall an entire wall panel on a slide, as it was either made too tall, or the wall is sagging, causing the wall panel to bow and pop off the slide/ mid bunk room frame. They said that wouldn't be covered under warranty any longer either. So, now I'm guessing they hope I will just go away...not what you should want your customers to do! I'm still waiting to hear what they are gonna do about that torn floor covering. read more

I have to revise my original review due to finding issues (small) on our initial breaking in camping trip. We discovered a few small things wrong such as a window shade that is broken and a cup holder that is cracked as well as the outdoor kitchen latch not being long enough to actually lock the outdoor kitchen. I was told by Joe, our salesman to call Justin, the service manager. In speaking with Justin he informed me that they knew about the outdoor kitchen latch issue but in order to get those things taken care of we would have to make an appointment and bring the rv in. I had told him that they are small issues that we can just pick up the window shade ,cup holder and latch (it's easily replaceable) but nope, we have to bring it in so it will take a very long time and hassle to get these items fixed. No way will they just give me the window shade or cup holder unless I bring the rv in. Are you kidding me?! No way will I recommend Sumner RV. Last weekend when I called to ask a question a salesman named John informed me that he is just a salesman and he doesn't know anything about the rvs he sells. Are you kidding me? Why buy from someone who doesn't know anything about what he sells. read more

Beware of the service dept. Once you take it off the lot, it's out of the salesman hands. The service department will not only ding, scrape, wear their dirty boots in your brand new trailer, and "fix" (and I say fix loosely ) items to the best of their ability by doing what I would call a "home owner" repair, not a professional one but will do it with the worst attitude imagined and take FOREVER! We missed out on an entire summer of rv ing. Don't mention to Justin how it doesn't appear to be fixed. His customer relations skills when there is an issue leave a lot to be desired. Don't take your issues to the owner either. As his skills aren't much better. If you need any assistance your better off contacting the manufacturer as long as your warranty is still good. read more

I echo all the other reviewers who have had horrible experiences with the service dept. They just don't care. As soon as they have the money in their hands from the purchase, you mean nothing to them. It's the stereotypical used car lot. I bought a new Timber Ridge from them back in July 2017, had a good experience with Andy the salesman. On our first trip, the furnace wouldn't fire. We were in Wyoming and I called Justin who basically said sorry can't help you. I talked to Outdoors RV and they were great, gave me some info on what the issue might be and where I could take it. I chose to bring it back home and into Sumner RV. I told them what Outdoors RV said about it likely being an ignitor gap issue. At sea-level, there's no problem, only at altitude (even just 3k feet of altitude). Sumner service dept said there was no adjustment you could make to the ignitor/spark gap to fix it. They ran it through a cycle and told me they couldn't get it to repro the problem. Yes, I know, because it's at sea-level. They refused to pull the furnace for inspection and charged me $150 for the troubleshooting. Just had Steve with Convenience RV Mobile Service inspect it and sure enough the gap on the ignitor was way out of spec, in fact there was no gap. Sumner RV service dept comes with an attitude and limited knowledge, I advise avoiding them. read more

We have had nothing but good experiences with Sumner RV....from the people in the sales office to the service department. We have had a few issues with our 5th wheel and Justin has bent over backwards to get things fixed so we could get back on the road. I would hesitate to go anywhere else to purchase an RV. read more

I had a great experience at Sumner Rv. My family was leaving town, and we started to have brake problem. We stopped by hoping they might be able to help so we could continue on our trip. The service department pulled our truck and trailer in to there service department and had it ready to go in no time. read more

I went in to buy a 2008 Wildwood trailer. I worked with John on my purchase. After we made a deal with down payment and purchase totaled, I was contacted by another worker saying I would need to put another $1200 down to make the deal work. I told them this would not work and I would not buy the trailer. Within a few minutes John called and told me there was a missed understanding and I would not need to put anymore cash down. I was also referred by a friend who purchased a trailer from them and was told he would receive a referral bonus of $100. I spoke with John about this the day of my purchase. John was given my buddies info but the money was never sent. I called back and spoke with John, he again took the info but never followed through on his end. read more

If you are going in for repairs, find a monkey....they will do a better job. We had to bring our TT in for manufacturer service on two different occasions as they were the closest rep to our location, even though we did not buy from them. First time they got our trailer after our maiden voyage. They had it for 3 1/2 weeks as they were waiting for parts and to do some minor clean up. This was in October. During the time our TT was on their lot, our bumper was creased on one side, causing tthat side to no longer be accessible. The response - "Oh". Second time our slide axle broke and they had the trailer for 6 1/2 weeks...YES 6 1/2 weeks!!!! We missed three trips due to this....we can understand 3 weeks in the shop but this was amazingly long. No only did they not fix everything, including the back window leaking, they then put dents in our floor, holes in the walls, and scratches over a foot long. When we sent in the pictures to them as we couldn't see the damage when picked up, the response was...."Just drop it back when you are done with your trip. We will need it for at least 3 weeks to fix our damage" Needless to say the manufacturer who is more than a 7 hour haul from us, is now responsible for cleaning up all of their shoddy workmanship. If the owner of Sumner RV wasn't a nephew of Ron Nash, I would be doing all I could to make sure that they could no longer rep Outdoors RV line as all they give is a bad taste in your mouth for the brand due to their service.
