Had exhaust leak. Dealership told me replacing exhaust system with OEM was not worth the cost and I should go to a muffler shop to see if it can be repaired. Topgun said there were too many leaks to repair but I got a quote for custom exhaust. Also shocks and struts were recommended because I had very minimal wear of original shocks/struts and recommended I get them done together for a discount. The new exhaust caused a check engine light and I had to go back to topgun to have that cleared. Welds on the custom exhaust are the worst looking welds I have ever seen and 6 months later I am already having leaks. The sway bar was not reconnected properly and broke (had another shop fix that). The shocks and struts were so cheap that they are already falling apart. Prices are cheap but so is the quality. read more

Neil told me he could take care of my vehicle same day. Then found he didn't have the part to do it that day. Brought it back another day for installation. (O2 sensor and cat) and then found out it was installed wrong. Neil claimed forgot to plug in the sensor.... Brought it back for a 3rd time and then he forgot to clear the codes. Finally found that he installed an aftermarket part vs OEM that didn't work properly- according to a more competent shop located directly next door. This place has the worst service of any place I've ever been to. I took my Toyota Tacoma in to have the stock exhaust replaced, as it had rusted out over the years. First, they told me they could order an upgraded cat-back exhaust for it for about the same price as a stock replacement exhaust. I agreed that an upgrade would be nice. But...they didn't do that. They replaced it with some piece of shit kit that ended up rusting out again less than two years later. However, the paperwork says "lifetime warranty." When I called to ask about my warranty replacement options, Neil decided he wanted to start an argument with me and told me to take my truck somewhere else. So I did. Screw this guy. read more

Very happy with service. I called around for a while looking for a deal on putting a new Flowmaster on my Colorado. Neil asked me more questions about exactly what I was looking for than the other shops who just spit out a quote and got off the phone. He had other clients there when I arrived but made room for me since I had an appointment. While he was welding the muffler I asked about a custom tip. He found one that I really liked and welded it at a cool angle, exactly the way I asked him to. I was told by my family Mechanic that my vehicle had a crack in the Exhaust system. The owner of Topgun Muffler looked at it for 2 minutes then told me I needed a New Catalytic Converter total cost of $1100.00 . Then my check engine light came back on within 7 days. He then told me I needed 2 new 02 censors total cost of $300. I'm a female. I took it back to our family Mechanic for him to inform me I was ripped off and I never needed a Catalytic Converter all my vehicle needed was my Exhaust to be welded!! So, for the first time ever one of our vehicles did not pass emissions. With that being said you must then jump through some hoops which none the less involves spending 165$ at a Washington state certified emission specialists. So We then combed through the list of so called " professional specialist". We viewed our list of options and very much wanted to patronize a local business in our community. With that, we chose Sumner top gun and muffler. I drove to the shop explained to the shop owner, Neil, what our concerns were and I myself having not ever experienced this was quite over whelmed. I was met with from the owner, a very very unpleasant welcome and experience. He was the utmost rude and told me he really did not have time for this that he was too busy and if I wanted to bring my car in to be looked at I would have to wait until next week. At this point I'm thinking this local shop does not want my business. I leave not sooner than making a new appointment for a week out. I left there upset and perplexed. How can a business not want to make money? Also notable, I said to the owner, Neil,hey at least your making money and thats a good thing. He said Im not so sure about that being condescending and rude. A week goes by and I take my car back to be serviced for emissions and again was treated as if I was a burden to the shop for asking them to look at my car. Im feeling pretty sad about the whole situation and will be happy when it is over. It only took a couple of hours. No problem we had planned for that. Went and picked up my car and Neil walked onto the area where we pay for services and gladly took my money with out a thank you or anything except for making sure I knew what a burden I ""have been. Sadly, The whole experience with Sumner top gun & muffler was horrible. I will not ever patronize or recommend that shop ever. Neil did a front end inspection on my 2014 Toyota PriusV, after only an hour he called me back and told me exactly what needs to be replaced and gave me an estimate on how much it would cost. Not only did he do the inspection free of charge, he checked my engine oil and asked me if I wanted him to take care of it for me since it was quite some time since I've gotten an oil change. I told him that I didn't really have the money for the repair and oil change at this time and he went ahead and did my oil change for me. Friendly people, great shop, great hourly rates ($95/hr), great price on brake bleeding ($45), dishonest time estimates. I was quoted 2.7 hours to change rear brakes and rotors. That's double the recommended time. The gentleman asked what I do for living, asked what part of town I live, then proceeded with an unrealistic labor charge. Being the "cheapest" shop in town, this shop actually ended up giving the highest quote in town (4 quotes). I removed the two starts due to dishonesty. read more

I recently took my GMC Sierra in due to an exhaust pipe hanger breaking and then discovering some rust holes in my pipes. Neil gave me a great quote and said to bring my truck in the next morning at 9:00, which I did. Prior to my arrival, something came up and he wasn't going to be able to get to my truck until the afternoon. The Owner, Neil, said to just take his truck - his "personal" truck, which is way newer than mine, and he'd call when my truck was done. Never in my life would I expect someone to offer the use of their personal vehicle just because they were unable to get to a customer right away. So I reluctantly drove his truck - straight back to my home and parked it in the driveway and then went about my day driving my Blazer. Neil called at 2:45 and asked if I could be back to his shop between 3:30 and 3:45 because he said he needed to drive another customer home and he'd have my truck done. What type a person "Drives" their customers home? A "GREAT" business owner that cares about his customer's satisfaction and then some. Do yourself a favor and find another shop. Was bullied into an exhaust that was not what I wanted. After getting said exhaust put on check engine light came on. 02 sensor out says reader. Top Gun had chosen to cut it out of new system and not say a thing. Upon contacting them they refused to fix. Vehicle is being fixed at another location. Sooo I have done my own brakes since I've had a car. My dad made me. My roommate recently asked me to find a place for her to get some. I looked at the reviews and saw everything looked great. We take her car for some brakes and rotors. Brakes cost 50$ for the pair and rotors cost $50 each. When recieiving a callback, they told me each was DOUBLe the price. I said are you getting these from Subaru? With an attitude, the man said no. I said, "Sooo where are you getting them? Because I'm looking at autozone for half the price!" Instead of backpeddinlg or apologizing for trying to screw us because we are women, with another rude tone he said, " well what would you like me to do then?" I don't know why he took it upon himself to be rude to us for trying to charge us double, but I work on cars and I'm not dumb. I will call a scam when I see it. DONT GO HERE. S I have to give Dale a 5! I brought in my F150 after a dealer told me that both my catalytic converters were bad. The dealer wanted over $4K to replace. I stopped by Sumner's Top Gun to see what they could do. After talking to Dale he put my truck up on a rack and explained exactly how he would replace them. I also talked to him about replacing the rest of the exhaust. So all new exhaust with 3" pipes, new Magnum Flow muffler and nice chrome tip, complete for a little over $1700.00. Awesome customer service! These guys fixed an exhaust leak on our very low mileage 2009 truck. The original work was done on the exhaust when we purchased the truck new so we didn't have a receipt. I had Neil owner of Top Gun Muffler put on dual exhaust and headers on my Silverado. What a mistake, find somewhere else. The headers have always leaked at engine. They used the wrong wire to weld on chrome tips. Gave me different mufflers then stated. When I complained to Neil about the headers leaking , he said I waited to long to bring it back ( not what my odometer read ) . Neil was no help resolving any issues from his craftsmanship nor did he care. I would highly suggest going elsewhere. read more
