If I could leave 10 stars I would. First off they are very fair when it comes to cost, let me say why. Last year my coil went out on my 93 Dakota , it sit in the front of motor two bolts and its off put a new one up and plug it in your done. That cost me over 600 dollars at a shop in auburn... So I was quite relieved when they did much more extensive work on my Dakota and my bill came to not much more than what I paid for that coil job in Auburn. My truck had been down for 5 months as I kept hiring people to work on it at my home, that was a mistake, I finally said enough ...and got it down to Carroll's and they had it figured out quickly as to what the problem was , I needled a new PCU.(computer ) Since you cant buy these from anyone, or any store and it has to be an exact match right down to the transmission. My truck is a 93 I had to research and finally found one, I had it shipped over night and since I didnt have a vehicle they came up and picked it up from my house. 2 hours later I got a call saying my trucks is done What a relief and to top it off , Alex the owner would be picking me up to take me to their shop. I have been to this garage before and always had good service and reasonable pricing. I recently took my jeep to a mechanic in Seattle and got an estimate for the work I needed to have done and it was twice as much as Carol's charged me. My experience was easy to do business with, fast and great customer setvice. A nice surprise was they really have made improvements to the building as well, which was nice to see and I'm glad that they seem to be thriving. It's a great benefit to our town to have a reasonably priced, trustworthy garage that can do work on your car. It's a huge win for Sumner because these places are hard to find these days. read more

My experience with Carrolls was very disappointing. I understand that repair shops have to make money but the parts markup was ridiculous, if you need to make more money, increase your labor cost. First, I was quoted a reasonable price, but still high, when I went to pick up my car the price jumped a couple hundred. Second, the price markup was crazy high on parts, the parts (OEM) were almost the same or even double the price from a dealership. Found 12 online part suppliers that had the parts that were half of the dealership prices, not to mention that all the parts were discounted, bring the total down even more. I would say that Carrolls has a 60-80% markup on all their parts, or they need to find a better part supplier. Labor was fairly reasonable, at $140hr. Would not recommend unless you're willing to pay for premium pricing on standard OEM parts. Was overcharged over $350 of what it should of cost. read more

These Dude's will do good work at a reasonable price. Aaron and the others seem to be men of few words, but if you are better off going to a different provider (like for specialty stuff like electrical or transmission issues) they will tell you that up front. I've never been over charged at Carroll's, and have taken both my work trucks and personal vehicles to them for the last year, always with good results. You won't find bubbly, cheerful customer service at Carroll's, but you will find good work, fast service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended for those routine, non-catastrophic repairs that tend to wear cars down after that 100k mile mark! read more

I been going here since the old owner Darrel used to run it under the name "Darrel's Garage." They are one of the most legit mechanics I know of. The new owner was an old employee of Darrel and brought the business, but kept the same work ethnic and service. Service: Is excellent. Their prices might be high than your local oil hut, but their follow through and reliability are worth it. I have had times in which I had something fixed and after a day or two something happened and they told me no worries and corrected the secondary issue without charge depending on what was wrong. Staff are nice and polite. Again this is a mechanic shop, so no white collar prettiness, but good old fashioned car repair. They also have a convenient night drop off box which is nice for those days after work and your car appointment is the next morning. Location: Near 410, off a side road near a quarry. Nothing fancy. Mainly a 4 car garage with a locked "waiting" lot in the back, and the usual works in the front. Parking is not really standard, mainly gravel lots with tires to guide you. Small mini office between two garages. Again, if you want to establish a long trusting relationship with a mechanic this is a place to go. If you need stuff like tires or routine oil, maybe the local tire hut or oil hut will do you better, as these guys get booked pretty fast. However, I will not trust my car to any other mechanic or have for the last 20 years, so kudos to this place for being reliable and trusting. read more

I rarely yelp, but my experience at this mechanic was too great not to post. My vehicle needed several things done, I knew I was going to be paying a lot of money. Aaron called me with the total and of course, it was a lot. However, I spoke with several people including my father who has done work on vehicles and they all said the pricing was very fair. My car was done within hours. I had to work that night, but the next day I went in to get my car and was given a significant discount for paying with cash. I almost started crying. This experience gives me faith in humans. My car runs great! read more

I had a different experience than the other reviews I saw for this garage. I showed up on a Tuesday morning around 10 am. There weren't any cars being worked on in fact the bays were open. There were two guys in the office, the one I spoke with was playing solitaire. He barely took his eyes off his monitor while I explained why I was there...a grounding problem with my 4runner turns out. The minute I said electrical problem he told me "it could be bad terminals". Didn't even bother to come out to look at my car. He referenced a different place to take it to and gave no indication whatsoever to see what it might take to fix it. I'll never go there again but suggest to anyone that does to bring a snickers bar to try to coax the mechanic out of his chair and out to the parking lot to actually look under the hood of your car. I have been going to Carroll's Garage for about 3 years and these guys are the BEST and most honest repair shop I have ever gone to. They have done both large and small repairs for me and it has always cost me far less than other quotes I have been given. I have even taken my car in to have them look at a problem and had it fixed with no charge!!!! That has never happened to me before. I know 3 other people that I work with that take their cars there and they feel the same. SCAM SCAM SCAM! I was recommend by a local but I'm sure carroll's is scamming her blind as well! Cascade towing and carroll's garage both teamed up to scam customers. A day later I dropped my car off using cascad towing, I receive a phone call from carroll saying how it's going to cost me THOUSANDS of dollars to get my car repaired. When I threaten with legal action, their price quote changed from 8 thousands to couple hundred dollars. Shady business, do not ever trust them. read more

I took my car for a simple oil change. I also had the guys at jiffy lube check me air filter....i go to drive my car away afterwards and my cat ends up completely dying. Had to get a tow truck after waiting 3 hours. Next morning the shop checked out the problem....it was a leaf that had gotten lodged in front of the mass airflow sensor to my fuel system. My daughter took her trail blazer to Carroll's for 100,00 mile service. It only had 90,000 thousand on it but she thought she would get it done before her busy time started. Her trail blazer has never has one problem in he past. She specifically told Aaron not to change transmission fluid unless it was needed. Daughter pays $500.00 gets her truck back. A couple of weeks later she went on a long trip and her transmission was slipping and having issues.She took her truck back to Aaron and he told her he had put transmission fluid in it not recommended for trail blazers. Aaron totally ruined her transmission takes it out and sends it to a transmission shop. Keeps her truck 13 days while he messes around with it and then makes her pay several hundred dollars for transmission repair. No rental car no loaner car no compensation. Aaron is rude and and angry when I call him on the 11th day to find out when her truck will be finished. The transmission is back from transmission shop but tells me he is busy with other cars. Carroll's garage has been a total very expensive and inconvenient nightmare! read more
