this isnt really about being negative, but i am dissapointed, my 93 Dakota was kinda out of their league in a way. They didnt have proper tool to scan it and tried to find one from different shops but didnt work out. Nothing was done to my truck I asked if the could test my injectors to see if they were working due to a code that reflected that issue..but they felt nothing could be done until they found obd1 scan tool ... Any how they felt they could get the job done and charged me 221 dollars for a diagnostics , my question was nothing was done not a wire pulled or a fluid filled they test drove it and and parked it I didnt learn anything new about whats wrong or if my injectors are working etc I appreciate the effort made to find a scan tool but thats what they should have in their shop, no hard feelings I was just bummed that it cost me 221 dollars to let them test drive it ...all the shops today are doing this, the good ol days of the past are no longer read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My vehicle hit 100k miles, so I booked a "scheduled maintenance" service appointment online. I dropped off my car in the morning. Joey took a look at his computer to see what the recommended 100k svcs for my vehicle were, and told me that if I chose to do "all" of the typical svcs that I'd be looking at about $1,400 out the door. I was NOT expecting that. But he assured me that they would do an inspection and send me a report for me to review before they performed any services to my vehicle. When the report was sent, it lacked transparency on cost. There was a long list of "required" and "recommended" services. Yet there was not a total cost estimate, or even itemized estimates on each service listed. That was disappointing. After seeing the long list I immediately called to verify that I would have a chance to review this list before anything was done, some of the verbiage on the report sounded like the work had already begun. But the man that answered the phone assured me that nothing would be done until I spoke to Joey and authorized it. So, I took my time and read over the inspection report. Joey called me while I was reviewing it. I asked him to go through each item and advise me of the cost. I was taking notes and writing the amounts down next to each svc on the report. He did push me to do certain things, but once I was able to get him to pause, I told him that there were 3 specific services that I was considering having done on that day, and asked for the out the door total for those specific 3. He quoted me a number that did not match the amounts he told me, (nearly $200 more) so I pushed back. He then said "oh, I thought you were wanting this 4th service too". Um no, I specifically asked for the total of 3 services and he tried to add a 4th into it, I guess hoping I wasn't paying attention? Not what I want to think, but certainly how it felt. I told him I needed some time to decide, as the list was much longer, and the cost much higher than what I was expecting, and I wanted to review the options with my husband and get back to them. It left me thinking about the "out the door" cost he quoted me at drop off.....I don't know how I was ever supposed to leave paying 1,400 when over the phone he advised that the cost for spark plugs alone was 1,100. I felt bad, knew I was taking too long to decide, I felt I had it narrowed down to 3 services but it was getting late in the day and there was no reason for me to leave my car there overnight. I arrived to pick up my vehicle. Since I had not called Joey back to authorize any services, I explained to him in person that I was going to pick up my car and talk to my husband that evening in order to make my final decision on what I wanted done. He seemed unhappy with that, but was getting ready to give me my keys back. But before that, he told me that we just needed to square up on the oil change that they had performed. Huh? I questioned him on if and why they performed any services if I had never called them back to authorize any. He pushed back at me claiming "you signed off on that this morning". I signed off on nothing. He pushed back at me again, claiming "yes you did, that's where this all started in the morning, with an oil change". No sir, I did not book nor bring my car in because of an oil change, I specifically booked my 100k service, and of course it was one of the items on your long inspection list but I was assured nothing on the list would be done without my say-so. He got an attitude and told me "well I guess you got a free inspection, and a free oil change, and I guess I'll just figure out the money side of it on my end". He treated me like some kind of thief with negative intentions. It is NOT the customers fault that you performed an unauthorized service. But if you wouldn't have gotten an ugly attitude with me and make me feel SO awkward and uncomfortable, I would've simply offered to pay for it, as I DID intend to return for services. But I will never be going back to this place again, or recommending them to anyone. read more

I agreed, they did that in about half an hour and I was on my way. The price was fair. I was very happy.....quick and fair. I brought my car in to address an oil leak and specifically mentioned to the service representative, that it appeared to be related to the turbo. After their inspection, I was quoted $6,200 for a turbo replacement and was strongly encouraged to use their no-interest financing to move forward with the repair. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion at a Volvo dealership in Fife. Their assessment revealed the issue wasn't a failing turbo at all, but leaking gaskets in the turbo line -- a much smaller repair costing under $1,000. This experience left me with a very negative impression of this shop. The significant misdiagnosis, coupled with the push toward unnecessary financing, raises serious concerns about the accuracy and integrity of their services. I would leave this place 0 stars if possible. They charge extremely unreasonable prices. I was charged over $1000 and they admittedly didn't fix anything. Over the phone they said it would cost about $1600 dollars for a fix, but then later told me that was to INSPECT the car to find the problem which i never would have agreed to. They then said the real fix would run me $4k which i refused. Anthony is another piece of work. He was extremely rude when i asked about the outrageous price they were charging when they literally did not fix a thing. Would highly advise anybody considering this place to look elsewhere. They are rude and overpriced. I was scammed. Save yourself the trouble. Many other commenters will tell you the same thing. Avoid at all costs. I've been here before, and they installed a headlight for free when I popped in without an appointment. But I will never go back. Took our car (34k miles) to them for some transmission problem, and after a $500 diagnosis, they said we need a brand new transmission, and they would get started right away for $10k (but the ONLY one left was in Denver and would take 2 weeks). We instructed them to put in new transmission fluid first, per suggested of a friend/mechanic. 3 days later (and $1100), our car runs fine. Talked to a transmission specialist, and he said that if the transmission truly needed to be replaced, putting in more fluid wouldn't have done anything. Side note: you can get a new transmission for my car at Auto Zone for $2500... Warning to folks, they will rip you off!!! read more

We had actually used this shop before with decent results. Although expensive, usually can address the problem in a timely manner. We recently had issues with our 89' Wrangler and were told it was the fuel pump. $900 dollars later and over 3-weeks total in the shop jeep runs worse than when it was dropped off. To add insult to injury we were told it also needed a clutch for another $1,600...after towing back home found out it actually did not need a clutch...still runs horrible. read more

My friend recommendation Car Smart to me because he had taken his car there for the same concern and Cameron helped him out. His window wouldn't roll up like mine. He was charged $200 for parts and labor as this is an easy job as he told me. I took my car in and was told it would be $135 to just look at it and then the parts charge. My final invoice was 3 times that at $620. They also said that when my window dropped it messed up my tint. This is not true my window did not drop. It rolled down and then I could not roll back up. The technician must have damaged it durning the time he took door of. My recommendation is to shop around first and take pics before dropping off. I feel like I was taken advantage of. This sucks especially around the holidays. I hope the technician fesses up and tells management he did it. Now that is another added expense to fix the tint on my window. read more

I brought in my car for a sticky clutch pedal to have them look at. The customer service and interaction I had with the employee was great. He was very polite and friendly. I did also ask them to look at my window that showing problems going up/down. I did not realize until picking up my car that this would be charged to me as a separate diagnostic fee. I should have asked, but I also feel they should have been up front and honest about if they are going to be charging separate fees, and how much. Total for looking at my clutch+window came to $247.89. Also note that both diagnostic summary's stated additional diagnosis and testing time may be required at additional charges. The 2007 Colorado was inspected by them and they noted issues that seemed to be normal, however they missed some major issues I'm now stuck with. They missed these items that were problems within days of owning the truck. -Transmission slipping -Didn't pass emissions -Tire Pressure System faulted If would of known these issues I would of asked for a price decrease during the sale. Service was great here! They're very knowledgeable. They had a mechanic ride with me in the car to see what the sound was which is super smart and I've never had an auto place do before! My transmission was slowly going out and they topped me off with fluid and had me call in to the dealership to see if it was still under warranty and it was! They could have just done the transmission repair and charged me a ton but didn't! They told me what to tell the dealership and what questions to ask and held my hand through the process to get me a loaner car and all. We were referred to this shop when our regular one was full. They made a simple error in connecting hoses that resulted in expensive repair. As they continued to fix the problem, new problems arose and so did the bill. We had to actively seek out the owner (after the error on their part) who agreed to compensate for the mistakes. Drove out of the lot and our rig immediately started having more problems related to the work they said they did. Lots of little mistakes, causing expensive problems, owner had to be actively pursued to correct their mistake. Taking rig to our final shop as I do not trust them to fix it. In the end, more problems now than before they performed the "tune up". Go elsewhere until they can do better training of their employees and do a better job of communicating with each other. read more

Have taken my car here several times in the past, but this will be the last time. Took my car in for a replacement starter. Based on the symptoms, I knew it could have only been the starter, which is what I requested. The adviser said that they wanted to check other items to make sure it's the starter. I said 'sure, go ahead'. What he didn't say was 'these are the checks we'd like to do and here is the cost'. I found an extra $135 on the bill. He called me to let me know the starter would be $245. I figured that would be the cost since I searched for them online. I found NEW starters for that much but it turns out they installed a REMANUFACTURED one for that price. I saw that Autozone had the same starter with the same lifetime warranty for 1/2 that much. I'm happy that they were able to do the work in a day, but who couldn't? They're not up front about telling you EXACTLY what they're installing and EXACTLY how much the other 'component checks' will cost. Also, I posted a 2-star review on their website which never showed up. They only post 4 and 5-star reviews. Beware! I won't be back. read more

They installed a RE-manufactured starter (without telling him it was re-manufactured) instead of a NEW one and charged him $412.26. Not knowing who else to go to, he agreed. We found out it was a complete and total scam as we stood up for my grandfather and called around to see what other mechanics were charging. They charged 200% of what it would actually cost- around $ 200.00 Don't let me forget they also charged my grandfather service fees for old shop rags. We have the invoice. Brought my dodge in for a diagnosis. Cameron got it in, diagnosed it and called me exactly when he said he would. He told me what the issue was and was very thorough. I had 2 cracks in my radiator and a bad thermostat. He gave me a quote and offered to get the repairs done that same day. They were awesome. I took my 97 nissian altima to have it a diagnosed why it wouldn't keep running. Jeffery diagnosed bad IAC motor and MAF sensor was the problem . I ok the repair which was very expensive because he said there was only one part in California and the cost would be $451.88. With the labor and fees the total was $959.69. I had the service done because I thought I could trust his diagnose and that the car would be running good again. When I go to pick it up Jeffery said there might a possible vacuum leak coming from intake manifold gasket which would be additional charge to fix. He said to drive it a couple of days and bring back to check fuel trims. I did bring back cause it was doing the same thing and he said it was intake leak and would cost $800 more. WHY on earth would I spent $959 if I knew that would not fix problem and then be told it might be something else. I went down to Car Smart to speak to the owner but he was not there I left my phone number and said I was not happy and to call me. NO ONE CALL BACK. Please take your car someplace to get fixed . Update: Jeffery the owner did call me back and I arranged to bring car back there to have the manifold gasket replace At No Charge to see if that would solve the problem. I appreciate his concern to keep me happy as a customer and told me to drive it a few days to make sure it is running ok and anymore problems to bring it back in. read more
