    My big vegan breakfast
    Pam G.

We drove 40 minutes to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Upon entering, the staff were friendly and the environment bright and inviting. I have multiple food allergies including one to dairy. It's difficult to find good food to eat out. Fortunately they have a vegan option...the big vegan breakfast. The rest of our party eat meat. The food was very good for all of us and the portions large.

This is truly a hidden gem that I hope more people find out about. Ms. Lo was our waitress and she was truly the mother I didn't know I needed. She was super sweet and attentive and wanted to ensure we enjoyed our food. I enjoy a waitress that is patience and explained all the dishes in detail. Now to the food! Let's just stay we left STUFFED because the food was too good and we didn't want to leave any behind! The portion sizes were just right! True southern food with amazing seasoning. I promised I tried to get the recipe for the mixed greens on my way out . We tried the seafood beggars to start filled with crab & shrimp that was super fresh and flavorful. 3 was just enough to prepare us for the main dish. The big breakfast was big and came with a drink!! Most places don't serve drinks without an additional charge but this homemade drink was the perfect addition I needed. The sides were seasoned perfectly with a creole touch, not spicy at all. The shrimp and grits were very light but rich. Usually with grits, they are typically grainy but this wasn't the case. I can't wait to come back and eat the food!

I called in my order at 8:18 a.m. I was told it's a 20 min wait for chicken waffles and a fruit bowl. It's currently 8:50 my food just arrived. I'm also the only customer in here. Food arrived looking and smelling great, not sure if I'll return because of the long wait.

So to bring in the New Year my husband and I decided to take a friend's recommendation and head to SFB for brunch. It was a group of four of us and the restaurant was practically empty. Upon arriving the hostess/ waiter mentioned she could not seat us until our party arrived. Our party was literally in the car. Customer service was not great to say the least. Food wasn't bad. Ambience: it's a very small restaurant. We saw most people ordering take out. Not really "that restaurant" that you would typically sit down and dine in. We waited at least 45 mins for our food. I ordered catfish over grits with a side of potatoes, my husband ordered the peach cobbler specialty chicken and waffles. The couple with us ordered sweet potato waffle and the Vegan Big Breakfast. I also ordered a peach Palmer to drink which was good. Let me say: the collard green egg rolls were not as good as the comments raves about. My husband enjoyed his peach waffle but his chicken under seasoned, I enjoyed the catfish and grits and the other couple enjoyed their food. Probably wouldn't go back but it wasn't bad.

Can I just say I just want to come back here soon! They were rocking a playlist seems like from my own Spotify list, clean and cute restaurant. Our server was so friendly and polite. The chicken was perfectly fried and juicy, and the eggs were perfectly moist just how I like my scrambled eggs. The pepperjack grits were some of the best I've had, and the pork sausage had the perfect consistency (not dry). I saved my waffle for last which I regret, and it was delicious! The fruity pebbles were not stale and if I didn't eat everything else, I surely would have finished this. It felt so welcoming here and I can tell it's a family-operated type of business - they really cared about the customer experience. Thank you SFB team!

Large portions, service was very attentive as well. Super cute hole in the wall restaurant in Clayton County area. There is a parking lot that is a plus. I ordered breakfast with friends. The pancakes is where I took a star. The pancakes just did not taste fresh for me and the cook either did not know how to cook turkey bacon or didn't cook it. I would however, try this restaurant again. I would just try something different on the menu.

Special event catering. Fried Catfish, green beans, salad, cornbread, mac'n'cheese and collards egg rolls.

The best soul food meals are prepared in small batches and made to order. Each of these dishes are delicious, well-seasoned and absolutely authentic. Tastes like coming home.

There seems to be plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot behind the building. It was around noon when I arrived and they were serving their brunch menu. I had the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit that came with eggs and a side of grits. The biscuit was large, soft, and toasted and the fried chicken on top crisp and seasoned well. It was sweet from the honey. The eggs (I had them scrambled) were fine, but nothing remarkable. The grits were quite spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp from the Midwest so they were probably great. I enjoyed everything. I would have liked an unsweetened iced tea, but only sweet tea was available. I had a fountain soft drink instead of. The restaurant was light and airy. The furniture was a bit worn and the dishes were plain white plastic but on the whole it was a lovely place. My server was pleasant and attentive.

There is also street parking. Wait to be seated. Best to have a reservation during peak hours. Weekend brunch and evenings I imagine to be busy. QR code menu. NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating. Even though the drink menu says the days and hours for those prices, you have to ask for the after those hours. The menu has your typical southern brunch flare with a twist. The drink menu is good. I ordered the impossible burger slider, it doesn't come with anything. Just two sliders. I ordered the potatoes. Even though the sliders were decent. It was a little salty. Presentation was good. Watermelon savage. I also tried the scrambled eggs - way too salty. It was inedible. My brunch partner didn't like the grits or chicken biscuit that it came with. Service was fine. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Overall, it was decent. It seems like a nice place to grab drinks and catch a vibe or be the vibe. Gratuity is included. Overall, decent spot. Oh and there is outdoor seating that includes a stage.

I hadn't been in a couple of years but decided to go back because of the amazing food that I had previously experienced as a consistent customer over the years. Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed when I ordered my usual and the food tastes nothing like the delicious food that I was used to experiencing at this location. The lack of flavor and quality that I had been used to experiencing was completely gone. The food tastes like it comes right out of the can onto the to-go containers. The turkey wings taste like they had no seasoning or flavor but as if they emptied out a can of cream of mushroom on top of the turkey wings. I could not finish the meal because it was nothing like remembered. Alongside the wasting of money and time that was taken to drive to this location, it was an overall disappointment. I used to recommend this location to friends who would come in town for some of the best soul food in Atlanta, but I honestly wouldn't be able to do that now because of the lack thereof. I'm not sure if they change cooks or what, but I'm highly disappointed. Pretty much they have a table blocking the door and a couple of chairs sitting outside of the establishment , or you have to wait in your car for your food. Unfortunately, Annie Laura's kitchen has gone down horribly. As a customer from the beginning before they moved to the second location.. I wouldn't recommend them anymore to anyone.

For the most part, people seemed to enjoy it so I was convinced I should check it out. The restaurant is located inside of the Hilton airport Hotel. There is a secure parking lot that requires you to pull a ticket when you enter. The restaurant will validate the parking ticket for you ! When I walked in I was greeted by a staff member and seated immediately. Shortly after I was seated my wait staff came over and introduced herself. She took my drink order and said she would allow me time to look over the menu. I asked my wait staff her thoughts on the Mac and cheese. I am picky about eating Mac and cheese from places. Most don't know how to make real Mac & cheese ( if you know what I mean)! She told me it was pretty solid. - As such I ordered the following: Crab bisque Smoked chicken wing plate served with two sides: Mac & cheeses and asparagus were my picks! The crab bisque did take a long time to come out. It was so delayed that my main course came out shortly after the soup. It was not ideal, but I made it work! The crab bisque was solid. I would order it again. The wing plate also exceeded my expectations! I was impressed with the mac and cheese. The asparagus were large, which was concerning to me! Like how did they get so big? Steroids? Nonetheless, they were cooked to perfection! I did get the banana pudding to go- this was the only item I would not order again! It was basic and I only took a few bites and ended up trashing it . Overall I would reconned this spot! Service was spot on- and for a hotel restaurant the food is pretty good!

Extremely disappointing considering I love lima beans and ordered an extra 8 oz serving. Complete waste of money and not up to par at all.. In addition, the delicious cornbread dressing had a ton of small chicken bones in it. Definitely not something that I was expect or look forward to in dressing. Very disappointing. Furthermore, I will never understand why they allow homeless people to sit at each door entry and back. One page from told them that they needed to remove them from the front doors because it was not a good look for their business and that big daddy would not be happy about it, nothing was done. On the positive side, the collard greens, broccoli rice casserole, cabbage, squash medley and baked chicken were good. Overall, this was not a great experience and I will think twice before coming back to this location. However, if you ever want to try it out, I strongly recommend ordering online and setting your pick up time for 15 minutes earlier than when you plan to arrive. That way, your order will be ready or close to ready when you arrive. And do not order the overcooked, mushy lima beans and pray that the cornbread dressing does not have a ton of small chicken bones in it, even though it is really good - you might crack a tooth o

The strip mall entrance and parking a bit of a challenge. Full review below: I went in Saturday afternoon. It was lightly busy but fully staffed so help/attention came quick. Dining solo so I opted for a seat at the bar. Bartender was super attentive. Didn't have to wait long for a menu or to place my order. Also, she regularly checked in on how everything was. I ordered the Yellow Diamond Martini ($15) and it was delicious. I got the fried green tomatoes (4 pieces) for $11.95. Complimentary very tall cup of water. The tomatoes were a little small so this is definitely an appetizer/light snack...which is A-OK for me. It came out shortly after my martini was ready. Overall, minus tip, it came to $29. Music was playing through a speaker but not too loud. People could comfortably have a conversation. There are multiple tvs throughout. I appreciated that some of them were showing stuff other than sports. One monitor, near the restroom, is devoted to Culturistic Kitchen content, which is smart. I did use the restroom. It's two stalls and two sinks. The non-handicap/ADA stall is tiny. I'm like a medium-sized woman who is 5'7 and even I was like yikes. When the place is busy/packed I could see a wait or a line for the bathroom. The one major downside...which is not Culturistic Kitchen's fault is that the strip mall is not easy to get out of and onto the main road (Jodeco Rd) especially if you're turning left. The parking lots for all the shops, which are great businesses, should be bigger than it is. Don't be surprised if, during peak times, you may have to park 1-2 doors down from the restaurant. Overall, I would go again. I don't go out to eat that often (there's food at the house ) but if I want a good cocktail and a light snack or try some of their regular food items, I would come again. More than likely, I'd choose an off-peak time because I wouldn't want to experience it at near full capacity but that's just me.
