This establishment is brand new and I must say that I'll be returning for more. We arrived around dinner time and there were people lined up to order food to-go. We elected to dine in since it was date night for us. While we waited on our entrees, we tried the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls. They're served with a sauce that tastes sweet and complimented the egg rolls. I ordered the Stew Chicken and was able to try the oxtails, Passionfruit and Coconut drink. Both entrees and drinks were DE-LI-CIOUS!!! The entire place is clean. There's music playing which isn't too loud. The restroom for women has one toilet with quality soap, paper towels and decor. It really bothers me to write this review, and I started not to write it because I want people to support Black businesses. However, I did not have a good experience. TLDR: Food lacked traditional flavors or flavors at all, and service was subpar. I arrived on a Thursday, about 2:30pm. There were no patrons the entire time I was there. I was told that they were out of Ackee. This is the second time in two weeks that they have been out of ackee. The first time, I called in a pickup order but was told they were out so I cancelled my order. This time, I came in person. There were two young ladies at the counter. One was very friendly and explained to me the difference in menus and the to-go area versus the sit-down area. The other young lady seemed very confused and uneducated about the food. The second lady (named Sekyah or something like that), took my order. Before I ordered anything after being told that there was no ackee, I asked if I could get callaloo. The young lady did not know how to pronounce callaloo and messed it up each time she tried to say it to ask the cook in the back if they had it. I was informed that they did. I then proceeded with ordering a veggie plate, which is not on the menu. I was told that there are a 4-item and a 5-item options. I ordered the 5-item plate and chose: Mac and Cheese (3/5), Yams (0/5), Cabbage (2/5), Collards (2/5) and Callaloo (N/A). While plating the initial 4-items, which for some odd reason took extremely long and she kept asking me to repeat the items. I started saying one at a time so she could remember, but then she'd ask me to say all of them. I'd list all of them and then she asked what I wanted more than 3 times. When we got back to the callaloo, she went back into the kitchen again and was told that they would have to cook it. I asked about how long would the wait be, as I did not mind waiting for some good food. Sekyah said that she thinks it would NOT be done within 15 minutes. I then pivoted and purchased the 4-item veggie plate versus the 5-item. Upon getting home, I couldn't wait to dig in. Positives: portion size and Mac and Cheese. Negatives: everything else. The Cabbage was under seasoned. The Yams tasted watered down, as if they had been frozen or diluted with water. The Collards also were very under seasoned. None of the items tasted as though they were seasoned by someone familiar with Caribbean cuisine. Overall, I will not go back. I will continue to eat at Cutter's. Perhaps I went on a bad day, and that explains the 5-star reviews; but I was severely disappointed. read more

Went there to get some food and was told it was going to be ready in 30 mins. When I got there they said they were still working on it and it should only be a few mins which turned into another 30 mins for them to tell me the food was still not finished yet. Food is good but waiting and hour plus is ridiculous. read more

They were out of oxtails, I ordered the legacy platter with curry chicken, stew chicken, gabbage, mac&cheese, rice and peas and jerk eggrolls. I waited 40 mins for my egg-rolls told it would 5 mins only to be told that they didn't have them and it took an addtionl 15mins to refund my money. The food was completely flavorless, the rice and peas was bone dry no flavor, the cabbage had to seasoning. I would not recommend. Will not be going back. I've visited this establishment twice because I truly enjoyed my meal each time. However, the chief really needs to hire a sous chef because the wait time is extremely too long. This will affect business and I hope it's addressed soon. read more

I am torn as I leave this review, because the food is delicious here. I have eaten here 4 times within the last two months. I have never been disappointed in the flavor or the portions. The waitress/ hostess has always giving us good service within the circumstances that I am about to mention. My FIRST time eating here was for take-out. I ordered the Oxtail Dinner. I was told that I would have to wait a minimum of 40 minutes for them to finish cooking. I opted for the Spicy wings instead- they were delicious! My SECOND time was for "dine-in", the waitress was over the top with good customer service and very apologetic for the LONG wait, even though we were only customers dining in. We ordered the oxtails, and when we finally received them- they were delicious. Our THIRD time was a "Dine-in" experience also. We called ahead of time because we had a party of 12 coming. Again, the one waitress was outstanding again. However, we were nervous because of the previous lengthy wait on the food. From the time we all had ordered until the food began to be brought out was over an hour wait, but because it was so many of us we were enjoying conversation. Everyone enjoyed the food. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! Only one complaint-- they ran out of Oxtails, but my friend received a gift certificate to come back later to get some at a later date. My FOURTH experience was "Dine-in" also. This time we had a different waitress. She was very attentive which is why she still received a good tip after our worst experience to date. There was only 1 person other than us dining in. We arrived at 5:30. My husband ordered Oxtails and was told that they would be ready at 6pm. Then received word it would be 6:15. Still no Oxtails at t 6:15, so we ordered wings, received them around 6:30 (they were delish) and we were told that the gravy was being prepared for the Oxtails, so I ordered the Salmon w/mango. At 6:45 still no Oxtails. Finally at 7:15p, One and a half hour later we received our meal. We then asked for a "To Go" box as you can imagine the frustration. Again-- the food was good. This is nice, clean establishment. But there are 'potholes' in the service. Here's the problem- there is only one cook who is also the manager I believe. This one cook is cooking and filling 'to-go' orders, call in orders and Dine In orders all by herself. While the waitress is doing her best to keep the hangry patrons satisfied. I felt sorry for her having to try to give good customer service under these circumstances. None of our disappointment was due to the waitress. She did her best. But...unfortunately we will not be dining here in the near future until there is more staff to accommodate the customers. read more

I finally tried this restaurant yesterday, and the food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and yams, and it was so good my meal didn't even make it out of the parking lot before I started eating! The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned and flavorful, the sides were delicious, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. The staff were welcoming, professional, and provided excellent service from start to finish. This place made such a great impression that I'm already planning to go back and dine in.
