They have a whole section of reasonably priced workout equipment as well & an area you can test some of it out with weights and everything. The staff are outdoor-experienced and knowledgeable and friendly, but if you like shopping without being bothered, you may want to get creative or hide when you see them, because they truly are trying to help! (Yes, the membership is worth it...) The value is great and sales are typically pretty good (in-store and online), but what's really great is the dividend members get at the end of every year (like cash back on purchases), PLUS the really lenient return policy, they know you have to try some of this before you know it's a good item for you - gotta love the co-op! Note: they recently when bagless, apparently except for the holiday season as I saw they had paper bags for those gift-purchasers this weekend. So, in a non-holiday season, if you plan on grabbing a haul (like I do, apparently), you'll want to bring your own bag(s) or plan to take a few trips to the car! If you're not a member of the REI Co-Op, it's well worth it to sign up. It's a one-time $30 fee, and the benefits are great, even if you only shop here once or twice a year. He set up me up with a fitting with Ray a few days later. The fitting made a world of difference and I felt like I had a new bike! I had to change saddles a week later and knew it was off just a bit. I stopped in on a ride and Ray spent another few minutes to make sure it was positioned correctly. While the bike business is booming they always seem to make time to answer a question or two or help out when needed. Keep in mind I'm riding a 10 year old bike so I'm not in there throwing money around to get service. It's just what they do. It's great when you find a business that goes the extra mile these days and they do it with a smile and professionalism not always found these days.

We spent over $200 on a new brake system for my 12-year-old son's e-bike, only for it to be returned to us with non-functioning brake lights. The shop failed to mention that the new system would disable this safety feature, and we only discovered the hazard when a friend pointed it out. When we reached out to rectify this, the shop was unwilling to help. Other mechanics have since confirmed the entire system must be replaced again to restore the lights. I am incredibly disappointed that my son's safety was disregarded. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
