This review is for Sun Appliance Repair regarding a gas leak diagnosis on my cooktop. I did not use their other services. We noticed a persistent gas smell when using our cooktop and contacted Sun Appliance Repair to diagnose and fix the issue. Positive note: scheduling was easy, and Sunny arrived on time the next day with a gas detection tool. However, he found no leak. When he opened the burners, I smelled gas and asked if he noticed it--he said he can smell something but claimed it was very likely cooking residue, not gas. He assured us everything was fine, and we paid the service fee. The problem continued. Out of caution, we contacted SDGE (which we later learned they offer free gas leak checks). Their technician immediately detected a leak--the cooktop was leaking gas even when turned off. I informed Sunny about the incorrect diagnosis and requested a refund, but he refused, insisting his work was correct and questioning SDGE's findings (see photos). My advice: If you suspect a gas leak, call SDGE first--their tools are more sensitive, and the service is free. Trust your nose: if you smell gas, then something is wrong. read more

My oven stopped working because igniter broke down. They replaced the igniter.
