My Bosch electric oven crashed. Select Home Warrenty sent one of their chosen repair guys. His diagnosis: fried motherboard. Upon replacing same, oven would not achieve selected temps. The tech gave me a song and dance about "temperature offset" which turned out to be a load of horse hocky. This man was a generalist. I looked up ASC and spoke with them. They truthfully stated they were not Bosch-authorized but they worked on many high-end Euro appliances. 3 stars, not 1 because they called me to apologize and offered to reimburse us for the consultation fee we paid the Home Depot contractor to try and fix our washer after Appliance Service Center failed to fix our washer. I do appreciate them calling to apologize and try to make things right, that says a lot about a company. I respect that. 3 stars, not 4, not 5 because we suffered for 7 days with a pile of dirty, stinky laundry. We have a family member who is an auto mechanic and everybody knows how much dirt, grime and grease they bring home. And we also have a family member who has a skin disorder that requires regular washing of clothes and beddings. I chose Appliance Service Center to fix our washer because they were the first to respond. They sent a technician, Sam on November 10th. He opened our washer, said he needed to replace a drain pump for $363, I said ok. He had that part in his vehicle, good. Then after a few minutes, he said our washer door latch needs to be replaced but the "market" is closed so he'll be back, and we agreed on a date - November 14th. I did not go to work November 14th, a sacrifice, just to get our washer fixed. November 14th, I waited, and waited until finally, around noon, I messaged Alex on what time Sam is coming. It turns out, Sam had a vehicle problem so he can't come. Alex apologized and said Sam will be able to come the next day. Again, another missed work for me. 2 days of no work, no pay - but we need to wash our clothes, so, what's another day, right? November 15th, around 1 PM, Sam just showed up to get our washer door latch and said he'll buy a replacement. I waited, and waited thinking he's just buying a replacement part somewhere and he'll be back. 2 hours later, still no Sam, so I messaged Alex again to ask what time Sam is coming back. Well, as it turns out, he's not coming back that day because they're going to order that part online and they don't know when it will be delivered. November 16, we haven't done laundry in 7 days now. You would never believe how much laundry a family of 5 can pile up in just 7 days!!! At this point, I'm not only disappointed - I am so annoyed and frustrated and kicking myself for relying on Yelp reviews for this project. I asked Alex for an update and asked him if they can fix my washer by tomorrow, otherwise I won't need my washer repaired anymore. And true enough, they can't fix our washer by tomorrow. November 17, I called Home Depot to request a washer repair, they sent a guy to check our washer, he told us that the other guy left it in a mess, screws are gone, and some parts are missing so fixing it would cost more than a new washer. Wow, I am so impressed and thankful for the service I received for my leaky washer. I gave up trying to YouTube and self-diagnose the cause of the leak. I had my old appliance repairman come out for $100 to inspect my machine and he could not determine what was causing the leak. How frustrating! I found this company and told them what I thought was contributing to the leak and we set up an appointment a few days out which worked best for my schedule. On the appointment date, I request a courtesy 30 min heads up prior to their arrival, which I received. They had a little difficulty finding my house but it happens often. I didn't know this at the time but the technician has limited English, which is fine, so some of the communication is done through the main office. The technician was really thorough in examining my washer from what I could hear and it didn't take him long to diagnose the issue. He showed me on the computer the parts he needed to order and I requested the inlet hoses to be replaced as well. When the part came in I was notified and we scheduled the repair. So fast and efficient. The total cost was about $364, with the $70 inspection fee waived, and $30 Yelp discount, I think that was very reasonable. Sure beats having to go to the laundromat, that was getting expensive and much cheaper than having to buy a new washer. The receipt is easy to understand and I like how they include a couple photos of the appliance for reference. They are my new go-to appliance repair company. read more
