My folks came here for a blood draw right before 11:15 AM, well before the office closes for lunch. There were a lot of folks in the waiting room. The receptionist who also doubled as the phlebotomist informed my parents their insurance would not cover the fees which baffled them. My father was confused so he called their insurance and confirmed their eligibility. He went back in to confront the receptionist by asking her to call the insurance. She instantly balked and immediately asked them to come in to have their blood drawn. She also told the same lie to the person who came in before my parents. Why the hell are you lying to the elderly who need your medical services? I get you are busy. I get you want to take lunch. I get your shitty management has left you severely understaffed that it is prompting you to bold face lie to your customers. I went to the one in 1048 S Garfield suite 303. You would think that I've been living in LA for almost 10 years. This city is just an ecosystem. Anyways the perks: free parking! Location decent and easily accessible. Building decently clean, elevator works. I was treated nicely by staff. My insurance with blue California sucks. $40 dollars for lab work. Had to come here to draw my blood and I honestly don't understand why the rating is so low. The nurses definitely have a system down and rightfully so! It's so busy here! I got here at 7:50am thinking I would be one of the firsts but nope. I was number 14. The nurse was super gentle! I typically get my blood drawn from front hand because my veins hide when I'm nervous and she was super gentle and understanding that I get queasy. I have to come back in October to do it again but this time I'll get there 5 minutes earlier than the previous time. Im only rating it 4 stars because they had no toilet paper. It seems like only the nurse herself is working on this workday afternoon. There is a poster saying that cash preferred, credit card accepted only when payment over $20. No contactless payment option. They'll take your physical card to another room, and back with a receipt printed out on an A4 size paper. When I have a dispute about my copay and want to contact their billing office, the employee(not the nurse) laughed and said their email address hanging on front desk has been out of service already. It's a small room with an all gender restroom(running out of hand soap). No water machine for urine test. No waiting room, only a few seats instead. For the past 15 years she has been taking care of us, and as she treats everyone, she is always greeting us with a smiling face and happy voice, never losing her cool no matter how crowded the schedule. This place is better than the 210 where I usually go to. The wait was long but it was worth it. Only downside is that it was hot while waiting so maybe some ventilation would help and some chairs in the hallway of the 3rd floor would help. The receptionist wasn't rude and the the nurse taking my blood wasn't rude either so it was good service. Another feedback I'd provide is don't let patients cut in front of you. There was literally one patient whom cutted in front of me when I was giving my medical info so help with lines would be helpful. Other than that there was social distancing and the place was clean. The elevators didn't smell stinky like the 210 one. Be warned This location is not what a sanitary, COVID conscious, keeping is the safety of patients laboratory should be. The location is too small, run down, unorganized. There are a lot of elderly people that come here, having them stand outside in the hall way and them coughing all over the place is definitely uncomfortable. After reading so many negative reviews, I urged to write this review today. Today 11/22/2019 we went in right after they opened which is the only sun lab opening at 7AM. This is a smaller office compares to other locations. Thus, they have 2 staffs working are more than efficient. If you in a rush, you shouldn't come here especially in the mid days. Or have more patience to wait for your turns. These 2 ladies who helped us deserve rewards and respect for what they do. They are well respect, polite, soft speaker and well-informed to my parents. The nurse make sure my parents understand the instruction and have me to follow up closely for my parents. The receptionist was making sure she quickly settle she was working on and Took care of me in less than 5mins. We were out of there 15mins or 20mins max for 2 people blood work. How in the fuck do these people have a job? They are rude, aggressive, disrespectful, they can barely speak english. I called to inquire about a bill and the rep was agitated almost immediately when I asked her questions regarding my blood tests. She rose her voice, overtalking me, and continued in this manner until I requested to speak to her supervisor (which she refused to pass me over to any superior) I explained to her that she shouldnt be talking to anyone this way nor interrupting them while trying to acuire details about a hospital bill. She stated I wasn't her boss and said "what's the problem pay the bill". 7-13-21 We called for appointment and was told appointment is unavailable. We came to this location at 223 N. Garfield Ave S#303 in Monterey Park, California. When we arrived we posted our name on the list the wait for ~ 1hour they called us and started processing the paper work, collected payments then provide the cylinders for urine and waste collection; then kept waiting additional ~ 1/2 hours. The waiting time is fantastic, the staff courtesy was wonderful. After withdrawing the blood from my arm, location of my arm was swelling and the purple color was appear on the location where the nurse dip into it to withdrew the blood. Consistently false negative results which result in some severe consequences in my child's health. I am switching to some better hospitals just to avoid clinics that use this malpracticing diagnostic group chain which is located in El Monte, Monterey Park, etc.. If you Clinic uses this diagnostic group, I would recommend you to switch to another diagnostic group like Quest Diagnostic. If my kids' symptoms continue yet the lab results come back consistently negative, it is pretty obvious there is some serious malpracticing misdiagnosis going on. After drawing blood, the staff fails to tell people to keep pressure on the needle wound for 15 minutes, which causes blood to leak out. As a result of that staff failure, you get big bruises that damage a huge amount of cells and tissues in your arm around the needle wound. This failure is very substandard, very bad, which indicates staff lacks professional training. Avoid this place. Go other places for blood drawing. read more
