The…read moreolder gentleman manning the shop was taking a break outside, saw us approaching, and immediately went to open up. It's a cute and cozy shop filled to the brim with European goodies. Lots and lots of chocolate and snacks (gummies, candies, biscuits, cookies, etc.), dried pasta, sauces, soup mixes, and so much more. Definitely a lot to look and and the variety is top notch with lots that are difficult to find elsewhere if you're not specifically at a European market. While checking out, I was eyeballing some of the chocolates that they had at the counter and the gentleman working was super nice enough to give my boyfriend and I some samples. Super friendly, welcoming, and giving the best grandpa vibes ever. I got some tea biscuits of various sizes and some really fun looking Garfield hazelnut wafer cookies and my boyfriend got himself some pasta and dried soups. Definitely will stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

Some go to staples that you'll find in Balkan households are vegeta - a universal seasoning for soups, meats and most dishes, chicken noodle soup packets with said vegeta seasoning (so flavorful, hands down better than any chicken soup you've tried), ajvar (mild to spicy roasted vegetable spread), smoked meats and frozen cevapi to name a few. You'll find tons of candies, cookies, sweats and treats. Keep in mind everything is imported so check dates and remember dates are going to be day first month second. Nelle gives friendly service, he is always so welcoming and happy to see you.

I haven't been able to find their complimentary chai anymore. Mithai purchases from here have been a miss in the past so we don't buy sweets from here. Amul and Vadilal brands are easily found in the frozen section. Lines are longest in the evenings with only two cashiers at the counter. Garlic has been a hit or a miss at times. Samosa at the hot snacks section is just okay. I would still continue to get grocery from here because it's fresh and convenient. Bonus points for the best lychee you can find in the Bay Area!

But there is one rare item I am addicted to, the fruiti-o mango nectar, which is tucked away at the corner of the refrigerated section in the store alongside a couple other unique flavors. The mango juice I was particularly looking for was well in stock when we stopped by this past Sunday. It is so yummy, and not too sweet. When we first arrived, the tantalizing aroma of fresh jalebi being fried outside the entrance caught my attention. I didn't even know what it was, but I saw the sign and watched the guy making it, and I wanted some. Like many markets they also cook a range of food here, though I didn't see it happening in the store so I'm not sure where. Unfortunately the scent of food can be smelt throughout the store while shopping, so it's like being in a restaurant where your clothes absorb the strong odors of ethnic dishes, and it will follow you home if you're in there too long... I think since the place was kinda crowded the weekend before xmas, it was a combination of the people and the food actually. But at least they had the juice we wanted, along with veggies we picked up as well. Service was sufficient, and we got outta there before it was too late.

I don't often come here, it's out of my way but when I do, I try to stock up on things I need. Such as banana ketchup, noodles and things I can't get at Ranch. (Living in South San Jose my options are limited) My mistake, I came here a day before New Year, never again. ‍ I had no time to look around because it was crowded. So I grab what I came for and stood in line. The workers there keep the line going. Props to them! I wanted to so badly to go to grill city to get some crispy chicken skins, again I didn't want to deal with the long lines. Store was clean and organized. Parking is usually full but a walk never hurt no one. :-) I'm definitely coming back for those crispy chicken skins.

I appreciate all your help and for allowing us to come in early to set up for my daughter's 18th birthday debut celebration. Maraming salamat po! To everyone looking for an event venue, you may not realize how difficult and expensive it can be to find an affordable place. I had been searching for a venue for a long time, and the prices were unbelievably high. I truly thank God for answering my prayers. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Seafood City in Milpitas offers a venue with no rental fee when you spend $2,000 on Grill City food. I honestly asked myself, "Am I dreaming? Did I hear that right?" Yes, it's true! To the management and leadership of Seafood City Supermarket in Milpitas, thank you for your kindness and generosity. You have no idea how much happiness you brought to our family and how much you helped us save. Thank you for making it possible for families like ours to celebrate special milestones with our loved ones. May God continue to bless you and your business. They are starting to add more pastries and the displays are looking good, especially with the sesame buns and cheesy tarts, etc. I'm surprised that they are trying to beat pastry prices in the area and it's definitely looking good here. Decent prices and good looking pastries. Still feels like a startup though. Cashiers are training and doing their jobs. Hashi Market has been upgrading too. I purchased 3 large bags of dumplings for only $10. It was a good sale this weekend. Celery pork/leek-scallions pork/cilantro chicken/etc. I think their fresh vegetables have dropped in prices too ($1.49-$2.99 per lbs.). Finally. I come here for tofu selections too. You can also find good 1liter healthy coconut water for under $3 each now. Hashi Market is slowly improving and training more new employees inside. This grocery store is convenient and they have made the aisles more spacious to walk around. Food deli area is still operating. I think the place is much better now compared to when it was the Marina grocery store in past years. Japanese products are showing up more and things are more positive here. I'll be back to try a few more breads/buns. $1.99 for good looking breads is cheap and decent here.
