Definitely a lot to look and and the variety is top notch with lots that are difficult to find elsewhere if you're not specifically at a European market. While checking out, I was eyeballing some of the chocolates that they had at the counter and the gentleman working was super nice enough to give my boyfriend and I some samples. Super friendly, welcoming, and giving the best grandpa vibes ever. I got some tea biscuits of various sizes and some really fun looking Garfield hazelnut wafer cookies and my boyfriend got himself some pasta and dried soups. When we first arrived, the tantalizing aroma of fresh jalebi being fried outside the entrance caught my attention. I didn't even know what it was, but I saw the sign and watched the guy making it, and I wanted some. Like many markets they also cook a range of food here, though I didn't see it happening in the store so I'm not sure where. Unfortunately the scent of food can be smelt throughout the store while shopping, so it's like being in a restaurant where your clothes absorb the strong odors of ethnic dishes, and it will follow you home if you're in there too long... I think since the place was kinda crowded the weekend before xmas, it was a combination of the people and the food actually. But at least they had the juice we wanted, along with veggies we picked up as well. Service was sufficient, and we got outta there before it was too late.

The meat had a strong smell of cleaning chemicals. At first, I thought it might just be me since I'm sensitive to such smells, or maybe it came from the packaging. I went ahead and cooked it anyway, but once we started eating, it was clear the taste itself was affected, it actually tasted like cleaning product. It was so bad that we couldn't eat it at all and had to throw everything away. Since then I am so afraid to buy meat products from any store, thinking that what all stores must be ding and why I should eat chemical and affect my health.

Celery pork/leek-scallions pork/cilantro chicken/etc. I think their fresh vegetables have dropped in prices too ($1.49-$2.99 per lbs.). Finally. I come here for tofu selections too. You can also find good 1liter healthy coconut water for under $3 each now. Hashi Market is slowly improving and training more new employees inside. This grocery store is convenient and they have made the aisles more spacious to walk around. Food deli area is still operating.
