It's like a cross between a western style bbq joint and a middle eastern twist with its meats and food. Turns out, this place is mainly an Afghan restaurant! It's half eatery half a butcher shop for people to come and purchase fresh meats for some home cooking. In fact, I watched a lot of people coming in and ordering meats to go. I ordered their chili lamb kabob which was tender and juicy. It had lots of flavor from the spices but enough to where it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered it on top of a pillow of rice which was fluffy and buttery textured. It was delicious. There are sauce bottles to pair with the meats which is my favorite part. I really liked their white creamy yogurt sauce mixed with their red house chili sauce. It gave my lamb meat so much flavor and some heat. I loved my order and will definitely order two next time. I also want to try their steaks. They take their time grilling their meats so orders can take a short while. It's worth it for sure. No complaints here but I do wish they played some light music in the background for some ambiance. Things can be real quiet in here so it can be awkward dining in. Other than that, I really like this place and will be back for more.

I mentioned before the rice has a scent and flavor beyond jasmine or basmati. The French fries are crisp & fresh. The flat bread is tender. The menu has expanded and is more flexible. A new gem is the lentil soup; creamy & exotically spiced without being too much so. It is not the least expensive place, but you get more than you pay for. Tayyibaat remains our go-to splurge.

They are much hyped for monstrous, incredibly layered over-the-top sandwiches with proprietary, house-made marinades, jerky varieties, and custom-smoked meats. Which may explain the lines, long waits, and lack of tables, not in a complainy way. Surprised at myself for not going earlier (the constant Instragram reels adding up), I had to go before I ended my tenth year in San Jose. I got the gutbusting Quad (pastrami, pulled pork, tri-tip, bacon, on a fresh Dutch Crunch). It was too big to eat as a sandwich- it was something you had to manage and attack. Truth is, I couldn't detect the pastrami because it was slathered in tender, lean, bbq meat, nor could I detect the bacon until the sandwich "thinned out" to normal human consumption size, meaning that I ate the meat out through the edges or the contents fell out. It's call quad because you need four napkins per bite.

Both were yummy. When I revisit I'm going to ask for light bbq sauce. My son and I enjoyed our sandwiches but we both commented that they were sauce heavy and lighter spread would've exposed more flavor from the meat. Service was helpful and quick. We were attended to within seconds of arriving. They also have a great selection of smoked sausages and meats. Worth checking out before your next backyard bbq.

The shop isn't very big but feels super clean inside and it doesn't have a meat smell. There's two huge meat fridges showing you what they have, plus couple fridges and shelves filled with stuff that you might need to cook with your food like spices, aromatics, seasonings. The staff here are really nice and helpful too. They even give you complimentary containers of their salt rub. My partner and I specifically come here specifically for their Picanha steaks which are extremely high quality and affordable. They're great to cook using the reverse sear method or grill like they do at Brazilian steak houses. They taste fantastic with chimichurri or even just with flaky salt because of how buttery the steaks are on their own. The last time we were here, we got 10 steaks for around $150 and we seriously thought we'd be spending way more. Of course the cost will depend on what you, like the prime rib here is very expensive, but weigh out your options! I do think everything else here seems to be a great price for the quality compared to mass grocers. I'd highly recommend anyone to check out this shop!

Even the rice cakes were good too. The main thing you should get is the kalbi jjim. If you're indecisive about the cheese, GET IT! My friend had the kalbi jjim without cheese once and regretted it. He said it's more tasty with the cheese on it. Other than the meat, I'm not sure if I would come here for soup. The clear soups I've gotten here are so-so. They lack in flavor and taste very bland-- wasn't worth the money. I highly recommend coming here with a party of three or more. The kalbi jjim and clear soup was enough for my party of five, and we also got purple rice and banchan. We came here on a Monday evening and was able to dine right away at 6:30pm. I can see why this place gets busy as it is small inside. It did get pretty busy shortly after we were seated and quite loud. We came strictly for the Kalbijjim and added cheese. For some reason, I was really impressed with how they do their to-go containers. They will take the dish back to kitchen and seal it in a container for you. Loved that!

The banchan variety is actually really good, which is a highlight for me, though the kimchi isn't my favorite. My personal go-tos are the Korean jelly (muk muchim), broccoli, tomato, and macaroni salad. I'd honestly come back just for the banchan spread. That said, for the price, the main dishes are just okay. One big plus: they serve purple rice, which I always appreciate. Service has been very hit or miss. Sometimes they're friendly and accommodating, but my last visit really threw me off. We asked for a refill on the muk muchim, and our server said they were "sold out"... but then the table next to us was immediately served it. I'd honestly rather they just say no than give an excuse like that.. it left a bad impression and made the experience feel off. A few thoughts on the dishes: * Budae Jjigae - A bit bland for my taste, heavy on kimchi and light on meats like spam, sausage, and bacon. * Galbitang - Light yet flavorful, with 3 large rib bones that had a good amount of meat. Comes with glass noodles, rice cakes, and thin egg strips * Japchae - Not complimentary here (you have to order it), but it's actually pretty good. * Seafood tofu soup - Just okay, nothing too memorable. * Galbi - Flavorful and reliable--can't go wrong, especially with purple rice. * Mul Naengmyeon - Refreshing and well done. * Seafood pancake - Crispy, not overly oily, and packed with seafood and green onions. * Bibimbap - Loved the crispy rice at the bottom, though the beef portion was a bit small. * Yukgaejang - Decent, but not as rich or flavorful as other spots. Overall, I'd say this place shines most in its banchan variety and comfortable dining space, but the inconsistency in both food and service makes it a bit harder to fully recommend

You rarely even see a working smoker around here, so the scent of that big beauty out front was welcome! We came to pick up dinner near their closing so it was empty. It's a no-frills kind of place with not much nearby, but the gentleman behind the counter was professional and efficient. You can order from the counter or the kiosk. They have both lunch and dinner plate sizes available; I wonder if they gave us end-of-day extras because those portions were impressive! Pork Rib Dinner: Served with a roll, baked beans, and potato salad. The massive pile of ribs was tender and delicious with a nice smoke. They supply big containers of sauce (sweet, tomato-based) on the side, but it's good to eat without, too. The potato salad was a chopped style, which I think I really like. The beans were pretty good, too! Chicken and Brisket Combination Dinner: Also served with a roll, baked beans, and potato salad. So much chicken! Smoked chicken can go dry, but not this one. There was a mix of moist and lean brisket; tasty, good texture, and a good smoke. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

We haven't had an issue with pick ups or our to go foods. Brisket and hot link are my favorite. Brisket is soft and tender. It doesn't quite fall off when you go to fork it but it's still really good and the tastiest I've had in San Jose. The hot link has that nice snap when you bite into it. I like to chop it up and mix it with the extra bbq sauce to make them little soupy bites. I think bits of the hot link would taste amazing in the baked beans which was the only thing I wasn't really a fan of. They gave me a milky taste I wasn't expecting. I was actually hoping they were soaked in the same bbq sauce as the meats. I suspect that their tangy, sweet and a tad bit spicy bbq sauce is why I like it so much. Definitely recommend you check this place out!
