I love seafood city because it has everything I need to make Filipino dishes. Their meat and vegetable prices are decent. You can get good deals. I don't often come here, it's out of my way but when I do, I try to stock up on things I need. Such as banana ketchup, noodles and things I can't get at Ranch. (Living in South San Jose my options are limited) My mistake, I came here a day before New Year, never again. ‍ I had no time to look around because it was crowded. So I grab what I came for and stood in line. The workers there keep the line going. Props to them! This was my first time at this mall. There's mostly Filipino eateries and marts here. We stopped at Goldilocks for goat and the beef kaldareta, it's a cafeteria style setup where a nice lady puts your selection in containers and then we went to the Red Ribbon bakery where I got a slice of their strawberry dream cake and it was named perfectly, I regret not getting the entire cake. read more

It is a show to watch the BBQ guy work on his grill. He's quite good at his regimen - grilling, inverting and basting and again grilling, inverting and basting and so on and on until it comes to a point when the meat takes on a good color. There's a variety of food to choose from. We ordered of course the chicken BBQ, shrimp sinigang (tamarind soup) and grilled tilapia. Yum it's soooo good. Great Filipino supermarket with a large selection and a pretty good hot food section. It's a bit far away from our home but every once in a while it makes for a good weekend outing, especially when we're in search of some comfort food. This place is pretty big - as in Safeway big - and carries a lot of different Filipino specialties, both locally made and imported. I'm especially impressed by the variety of bananas/plantains that they carry; most people in the US wouldn't be aware that there's a lot more than just the Chiquita bananas that dominate the American markets. Plenty of other fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from. The fresh seafood area is far cleaner than all other Asian markets, like 99 Ranch and Marina. They seem to keep the ice levels very high to ensure that the fish stays fresh and unspoiled. For the most part the seafood appears to be in good shape - no cloudy corneas that can indicate a fish that's past its prime. They'll clean and cook it for you, if you wish. They also have an extensive hot food line, where you can get your pork skewers (highly recommended), lumpia, adobo, crispy pata, etc. The pricing is a little difficult to understand but the friendly folks behind the counter are always willing to explain it to you. There were a few things that seemed to be lacking, such as greater variety of dried mango products (note to store supply managers - Guadalupe brand dried mangoes from Cebu are the best) and otap. Was hoping to see lower prices for the Magnolia ice cream as compared to Lucky's, but it's still rather pricey. read more

Maybe they use a different oil but it has more chicken skin flavor and their vinegar is spicier/more flavorful. They have products I like when I am growing up at that time such as Pocky and Yan Yan. I also like how they sell Filipino bento boxes, which are silogs (Filipino breakfast). This supermarket shares the same building with Chowking, Goldilocks, and other places making it more convenient for people to stop by those places too. This is a chain Filipino supermarket where I pass by all the time. Inside, it has a large deli area with a big grill with someone grilling skewers. Fruit and vegetables are pretty fresh. They also have a large meat and seafood department. Things look fairly clean compared to another supermarket o visited recently. They also have a large deli department with fresh cooked Filipino dishes ready to serve. There also a small dining area with quite a few tables and chair for dine in. Service was good, I purchased an item, i went home and realized I was over charged, I called them and went back in two days later, they refunded the price difference. read more

I am never disappointed when visiting Seafood City grocery stores. ATM, bank, shipping service, retail stores, food stalls, etc., they're all inside the small plaza. I go for seafoods mainly because I get to weigh by the pounds and get free help over the meat counter cleaning the fish and taking bones/fins/tails/heads/scales out before bringing them home to prep and cook. Seafood City has it all. Asian style. Absolutely huge fresh fish and other seafood varieties. I like fishes, shrimps, scallops, oysters, clams, crabs, lobsters, etc. One stop shop. Great location in Milpitas, CA. Las Vegas has great locations too. Credit cards accepted. Spacious stores with Filipino operations. Food court is always packed with delicious BBQ meats and snacks. Convenient separate food court in the plaza too. Vegetables and fruits are priced well. Meats are well packed and washed. Everything is always convenient and fully stocked. Note, ice cream is most expensive at Seafood City. My favorite fresh coconut prices have increased by a dollar or so. I purchased mixed seafood frozen pack this week for $11.99. It feeds a good 3-4 servings. I rarely buy pasta sauce, spaghetti, or SPAM meat here because I can get them cheaper elsewhere. I made everything at home. Seafood pasta tasted excellent. The mixed seafood quality was very good and generous. I buy it because it's very high in iron nutrients, good for your red blood cells and high sodium great for people who workout a lot or sweat too much. Eating seafoods is always healthier option. Look for high Vitamin D/Calcium/Potassium/Iron stuff. Overall, Seafood City is a good grocery store for variety ingredients. Lines can get very busy here. This place is awesome! This is my first time going to a Filipino Supermarket and there was such cool stuff inside, especially the extremely expansive fish aisle. Also it didn't smell which was quite surprising. This review is mainly for the food station: - Chicken Skewer - So tender! Wish there was a little bit more BBQ sauce because the flavor is awesome. - Buko Pandan - This is not for me. I think maybe because I'm not super used to the flavor but it tasted a little bit minty, like toothpaste. I will say that I did like the jellies here, they were extremely soft and coconut flavored. - Coffee Jelly - I liked this one better out of the two drinks because it tasted a little bit like tiramisu. - Pork Adobo - The dish is a little bit oily but they give you a lot of it. At times the meat isn't super tender (expected because it probably has been sitting under the hot lamp for awhile), but the flavor is very on point. Overall, a good meal! This is the best Seafood City location of all their stores in San Jose and vicinity. They have the largest selection of produce. Their produce alongside of the wall (refrigerated section) have a great variety of Asian vegetables. All the fruit, potatoes and yams, are located at the center of the produce room. They have a great organization here with their groceries. The staff are always friendly and almost always helpful. The best part of this place is that they have a Grill City inside! If you are craving Filipino food and ingredients, look no further and stop in here. You will not be disappointed. They have a great website for curbside pickup too with contactless delivery to your car's trunk. No tip necessary. There is a lot of BBQ options and the grilled fish was the most popular but I went with the BBQ pork stewer and it was tasty. The stewer wasn't dry and overcooked. I also got an entrée and lumpias. The lumpias were so good. I am going to go back and try out the grill fish one of these days!
