It was Saturday of Memorial Weekend and air conditioning wasn't cooling. I called right away and the tech. was scheduled for 12 - 2P. He finally arrived 4:30P. After doing a through check he said he had to order my blower that the warehouse was closed until Tues. I asked how if this is an emergency why they don't have people working the warehouses? So my home got up to 95 degrees most days. Awful. Tuesday morning they never called, so of course I called and they still didn't have the blower I needed and the repair would cost $2000.00. I called Frank Gay, to see what they could do for me. The blower was the installed the next afternoon for a cost of $1000.00 including a years maintenance. Also, Tuesday afternoon Sun Kool called to say the blower was now in and the cost would be $2800.00. How many people do the rip off like this and such poor service. read more

Update ! 7/29/2024 I had my new h/vac installed and they did a great job. Everything installed and working great. A few days later a friend asked about it and I told him all about the experience and how good it was, because of that he also called and in the next week or so his will also be installed actually a slightly larger unit, now the problem. Why did I pay $500 more than his unit. We both purchased the same warranty and he is getting a slightly larger unit. He also spoke to the same salesman George, guess I negotiated poorly I didn't know why the difference, our houses are only two years apart and everything in the villages are built the same . But they still did a great job and will continue to recommend them. read more

Sunkool installed my ac&handler unit in my 21mo old home. I purchased my new built home in September 2023. A TVX valve went bad and Sunkool wanted to charge $800.00 because it was past one year. We called Goodman the maker of the ac and replaced the part for no charge. I had to drive to Clermont to pick up the part at Goodmans parts store. Not sure why SunKool wanted $800.00 for a warrenteed part? I used another company to resolve the problem. read more

My cool air stopped. I called Sun Kool and spoke with Summer who handled my call very professionally and I was pleased at how smooth setting up service was. Considering it was one of the hottest weeks and I know they hade to have numerous requests for service but they have a large company with vast service personnel and service was provided the same day. They have long hours, into the evening. They arrived on time. The lead technician, Donny was extremely knowledgeable. He identified the issue within 10-15 minutes had parts available to get AC working immediately. Donny was very informative and it was easy to establish trust in his expertise. He also explained the problem thoroughly. I appreciated that unlike other companies who focus on selling new AC rather than fix a minor part that was bad. They don't try and bamboozle the customer into things they don't need. I liked the fact this company is family owned and maintain a high level of integrity. They stand behind their work with a focus on customer satisfaction. Pricing is fair and they followed up with me the next day to make sure I was happy with how AC was performing. This is one of the best companies I've come across and I will continue using there services in the future. Very honest with great customer service. I highly recommend Sun Kool Air. read more

Of course my ac stopped working in the hottest time of the year last night, I called Sun Kool last night and asked if they could send a repairman out in the morning . The gentleman who took my call told me he's have a guy come out that night but I told him I didn't want the repair to come at night as I figure it's hard enough to work in the day and night would make it more uncomfortable for him . The Repair man Joe called in the morning and arrived 20 minutes later . He quickly diagnosed the problem and had the part to fix the AC. He was a gentleman and a knowledgeable AC repair man . Sun Kool is the only company I will ever use. They have installed 2 systems in my home over the years. The only company that understands "zones". I can adjust the system for different areas of the house to personal preference or shut off air flow completely. Other companies want to sell you 2 systems. Their service is excellent and dependable. They are competitively priced as well. I have them service my unit once a year at a cost of only $79 and it has never burped during the hottest weather. This outfit sold me a $20,000 (to be fair inclused 10 year part and labor warranty) 4 Ton infinity Carrier unit and they have only one person that knows anything about it. It has been a constant nightmare. 4 days to install as they did not know how, after removing my old unit. It dripped water into our master closet too. Called with blower problem. Came promptly. Tech said he had seen a thousand times. Needed a computer module. Charged $99 to come out without part to return 30 minutes later with factory warranty part covered but charged $225 more to put module in taking a total of less than 30 minutes of work. Total labor $325 They knew the problem but wanted to come out twice to charge two fees Manager said industry standard. It won't be for me. Don't trust this company. I had 6month maintenance done on Wednesday, paid $109. 00. Thursday afternoon my AC stopped working. Didn't have a problem before this, all of a sudden after maintenance I have a problem. Didn't get to my house until 3am said it was fixed. That morning 9am stopped working again, waited until 5pm, this is 100 degree weather in Florida mind you. Guy came said he fixed it. 530pm right as soon as he left, stopped working AGAIN. Next guy shows up 8pm, says I need a motor, I said well, it's still under warranty, he said the only motor he has available isn't the one used for warranty and it will costs me $700-2200. Well, at this point I feel I'm being taken advantage of because I'm an older woman, and they're trying to take advantage of me because of my situation and it's going to be so hot, over 100 every day. I go ballistic on him tell him I'm calling his office, tell him and the office I'm going on social media and to the local paper and the news media if I need to. All of a sudden after he rechecked it, he says, he fixed it, it was a loose plug that was running the motor inside the unit. WELL IMAGINE THAT! I won't be using this company ever again. read more

I have had both good and bad interactions with this company. Sun Kool was the HVAC company for the home I bought in The Villages two years ago. As far as I can tell they did a good job. I've never had a problem with the furnace or the heat pump. They performed the one year check up and everything was fine. Recently I contacted them to do a yearly HVAC checkup and to sign me up for their twice a year preventative maintenance program. Unfortunately I had to cancel that appointment at the last minute with almost no notice due to an unexpected trip to the hospital emergency room. I rescheduled the appointment and was home at the correct time on the day of the second appointment. Instead of coming to the door and ringing the doorbell or knocking the tech called when he arrived and then sat in his truck for 15 minutes before leaving. At least that's what his office said when I called them later in the day. I didn't get his call because my phone is set to silence calls from unknown callers. That was frustrating but I rescheduled again since it was my fault we didn't connect on the original appointment and this missed appointment was their fault because I was home and all they had to do was knock on the door or ring the doorbell. Today was our third try for this appointment and it was set for 8:30 in the morning. No tech showed up so I waited until 8:45 and called their office. They told me it was supposed to be at 1:30. I know that I would have never scheduled the appointment at that time of day because of a long standing weekly commitment on Friday between noon and 3pm. So I will find a different company for my HVAC maintenance. read more

Closed on a new home in The Villages Florida and Sun Kool was the AC provider, they bragged about their annual maintenance program. The first maintenance appointment was FREE. I call to schedule on March 7th, no maintenance personal was available to take my call but would call me back, no call back. Called on April 5th to try to schedule again and the only time I had available was April 7th. Sun Kool could only make that happen on April 22nd. So, from a March 7th call I could only get an April 22nd appointment. Wow, if this is their service policy what would it be like if my AC went out ? I ordered an air filter for my AC unit. I had an appointment with the Sun Kool tech to come to my house and deliver it.I received an abusive call from the tech Joe Shiver who was scheduled to deliver a filter to my house. He told me he did not want to deliver the filter couldn't be bothered. I told him I was going in for open-heart surgery next week and that I needed the filter and why was he arguing with me his response was he could argue all day and found it rather funny. When the phone went down I sent a text to him to tell him that I was going to report him to his company after which I get a text in return saying he will be there in 10 minutes. When he did Finally show up at my house he sat in his truck for over 5 minutes. I said to my friend who was visiting my house, that I will wait till he comes to the door I won't go out to approach him. When he came into my porch area and closed the door behind him he was again rude. I have since been informed that he secretly, without my or my friends knowledge or consent videotaped with audio me and my friend. We were both standing in the front doorway. I found out about the recording from Tim, his supervisor when I called to complain about his behavior. Tim told me that Joe had sent him the entire video tape of me and my girlfriend and repeated the conversation that was on the videotape to me. I called the police department and The deputy Then spoke to Joe Shiver and Joe Shiver said that there was no audio, but I had a friend Jose in the house when I took the call from Tim who heard him repeat exactly what was on the video tape that he had received. My friend and myself said absolutely nothing that could not be repeated, but this was a complete set up. Receiving a call from the tech who did not want to deliver an air filter and was so grossly rude on the phone before showing up why on earth would he want to video two elderly ladies....And all of this for an air filter. Can somebody please tell me what this is about? In my opinion he was either drinking or on recreational drugs because I can't imagine anybody in their normal mind wanting to behave like that on a job. Beware of Sun Kool. read more

I called Saturday 12/29/18. Spoke to no one but was instructed to leave contact information for after hours technician. Received a call back but was told that there were no parts in the truck but would come and diagnose the problem with the unit for $85.00. I said why would I have you come if you are not prepared to fix. I called again on 12-31-18 and got the same recording about after hours. I left my information and nobody called until 1 pm. By then I contacted another company and have a technician coming to fix with parts. I will never use Suncool again. They are not the only game in town. I have used them since I bought my home and will never use them again. read more
