I called (8/11/26) with a concern about the interaction of two daily medication prescribed by Doctor. After 25 minutes on hold, the Trainy could not help so I asked to be transfered to a Supervior. Supervisor Leslie noted the concerns and told me to wait 48 to 72 hours for Doctors response even though the concern was urgent since they are daily use medications. I never received a call back so on (8/13/26) called and after 30 minutes Angelina picked up only to transfer me again. After another 30 minutes on hold Marissa picks up and puts me back on hold. Lead Medical Assistant Maritza picked up and was able to resolve a 3 DAY urgent concern and give peace of mind in less than 5 MINUTES. THANK YOU MARITZA!!! read more

I have been with this practice for 4 months now. I have had 2 different referrals just get dropped. The first one, at my next appointment, I asked my doctor about it and he said it was ready. So, after my appointment I had to go to the front desk to set up the appointment for this referral. Basically, I had to chase it down myself. No phone call to set up the appointment. The second one, I had to call 5 different places AND be transferred MANY times to set up the appointment. The 1st one sat there for a month before I handled it and the second it sat there for 3 weeks before I fixed it. Also called to have my doctor call in a script for a female issue only to be told to go to the e.r. because I did not know what was really happening to my own body. I have been having issues for over a year with this problem and I know that its my lady problems not an anus issue. I had to go off on the doctor for him to send in the prescription. The only way to get them to do their jobs is to call and yell at them because otherwise you get the run around! If you use them, be prepared to call every other day to make sure they are working on your referrals. And if you are a woman having issues with your women's health be prepared to be treated as they did in the 1950s. The whole, "its just a hysterical woman," attitude. This place deserves ZERO stars. Also, if call customer service they will leave you on hold for 20 minutes until you hang up because they do not want to do their job! read more

We are trying to find a doctor as our experience with Banner was extremely poor. We decided to try Sun Life. The online scheduling was super easy so we were off to great start. However, upon entering the building, the front desk person was SUPER rude! Not helpful in any way. Did not even look at me when entering. JUST DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE If you have other options besides this facility--take them. I went in for a basic acne and skincare consultation and walked out with absolutely no answers. The doctor didn't take any vitals, barely made eye contact, and showed no genuine concern for my condition. He went by his first name "Jacob" and gave off the impression that he was just there for the paycheck. He quickly prescribed a strong topical medication filled with acids without explaining how to use it properly or what the side effects were. I honestly felt unsafe using it. It was the pharmacy staff, not the doctor, who ended up giving me more helpful information about the medication. That's unacceptable. I have several underlying health conditions and have seen many providers over the years--this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I'm incredibly upset that I paid for a visit that left me feeling unheard, unhelped, and even more confused. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

ABSOLUTELY avoid if you can help it! The ineptitude at this office is first laughable and then concerning. They're a revolving door for providers, I have never seen the same one twice. My husband does not easily go to or trust doctors and it seems that every single one that he likes, leaves after he's seen there once. Now let's talk about their billing practices. We received a bill for a visit in January of several hundred dollars, I called and asked why. The girl said that he didn't have insurance. When in fact we had the same insurance for every other appointment that had been made. She then said she would be submitting the visit to insurance and would re-bill for the day. That's reasonable, no problem. But instead we get a bill from a collections company for the amount. I'll be calling tomorrow to close out our accounts and get copies of our charts and then leave this AWFUL practice. read more

Dont come here unless you want to waste your time and money. They never start appointments on time, front staff has no idea what they're doing and charged me for fees I shouldnt have, which I fought and then couldn't figure out how to give a refund. The way they run their office makes getting a timely appointment impossible. When you call, you get an answering service that is even more incompetent and don't have any answers. On top of that they couldn't keep track of correct records and I would have to remind them the dates I was there. Thank goodness I keep track of my own health. read more

I was put up with this place for a year waiting for them to get organized and get their act together. They never did. They never got my appointments right I often went in and they told me to go home because there were no doctors. By the way, there are actually zero doctors, only nurses here. The care has not been great, and it is a total waste of time in my opinion to even go here. I finally got to see a non-doctor. She told me that I shouldn't be on antidepressants and that she wouldn't manage my depression medication. First time she's ever seen me and she's gonna tell me what I need. I've been on antidepressants my whole entire life. I do not recommend going to see these people for anything. read more

When you don't feel good and you are trying to schedule an appointment with a the doctor it's unnecessary that anyone should have to wait an hour or so just for those ladies at the front desk to actually do the job they're getting payed for instead of just chatting and being overweight. read more

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. To start I was a patient here a few years ago and had an okay experience, but would NEVER reconsider coming back to this location. My 83 year old parents have been feeling sick lately and need to be tested for COVID. The pinal county Health department website directed me to this clinic to have a drive-thru test completed. The Sun Life Family Health Center website states that testing is M-F 8-430pm (excluding 12-1 for lunch) in all locations except Coolidge. I have attached a screenshot here so they can't go in and change the time to pretend I misread their website. I had a bad feeling about this "health" center when I tried to call them to reconfirm their drive-thru testing hours as there were 56 people on hold ahead of me, and hours of waiting I could not take part in due to needing to get back to my job. When I arrived at the center at 4:00pm, there was a staff member in COVID testing gear (shield, N95 mask, gloves, etc.) testing the car in front of us. However, they then went inside and never came back out. I proceeded inside the facility and said I needed 2 drive-thru COVID PCR tests completed and was told that testing was over at 330pm. When I said that their website says 430pm and that I just saw someone being tested outside, the woman at the front desk proceeded to increasingly speak to me rudely, and would not help me in any manner. All she kept saying was "My supervisor said testing is over at 330pm." When I asked to speak to the supervisor, as I am very concerned for my parents and needed the help that Sun Life says is available on their website, the woman blatantly refused. I have never been so disgusted in my life at how I was treated in this facility. This place should be investigated by the state and shut down. Shame on you. You shouldn't even call yourself a Health Center as clearly all your staff cares about is playing on their cellphones instead of ACTUALLY providing necessary medical care. read more

They made me pay for a service that is free to me. I booked an appointment for annual well check through the website of my health insurance. As I showed up they put me on a different doctor and lied to me that he is in network. My insurance denied to pay and a dispute at sun life was denied also. On top of it they hired a collection agency. Run run as fast as you can. read more

Doctor C is AWESOME! The front staff though is NOT! No phone calls back, it takes at least 5 days for scripts to get refilled from the pharmacy and no communication. Most likely I will be switching doctors. It is so frustrating!!! Maricopa is not that large of a town - I do not know why they are so slow and unorganized. read more

I have had a very frustrating experience getting accurate information from office staff both at the Women's Center and Family Practice in Maricopa. Orders for lab work were not inputted accurately into the system, resulting in the wrong blood test to be drawn within the wrong timeframe. Multiple appointments are required for lab work, interpretation of results and refills or presciptions (of course all billed to my insurance). But once the lab work is complete, you cannot get back for an appointment for over a month. This experience will prompt me to look elsewhere for more competent accessible health care. There is a high turnover rate in staff from year to year. read more

While I am not necessarily a huge fan of Sun Life Med itself, I absolutely LOVE my provider PILAR HOFFSTEN! I travel an hour just to see her and will continue to follow her no matter where she is in the future. She has been the ONLY provider that is willing to do whatever to make sure I feel like I am listened to and respected and not looked down upon like many other providers. She never makes me feel as though I am wasting her time as she is diligent and caring during every one of my visits, even if she is over booked. She is the only reason that I will even go to SunLife. read more

I take all three of my kids here, with my youngest having been seen here since she was a newborn. The nurses are so friendly and Dana is amazing. She's very thorough and very informative. I feel like my children are receiving excellent care here. When my oldest had an ear infection, they fit her in right away, and we never wait long when we have an appointment either. I am so impressed with this place now that it moved. I was skeptical at first as it was difficult to get through by phone. That is no longer the case and I have transferred my entire family here. The office and medical staff seem to really listen and want to help. I love that they are a community health clinic so they have everything from primary docs, pediatrics and even mental health. My daughter was having anxiety so at her normal check up they had a mental health professional meet with her and then schedule her for counseling in the same office. So amazing not messing with referrals everywhere and at the same visit they had her seen. I recommend this clinic and I am normally very picky with my kids care. read more

The office is so much nicer now that they have moved. They have gotten my paperwork messed up a couple times, but nothing major. I have to say that Dr. Chukwurah actually listens to what you have to say. I had a crazy chronic cough and she sent me to every specialist she could think of to try to help. Luckily, I had good insurance. I ended up finding out that I had bad food allergies which is probably the only thing we didn't get tested. Not her fault...food allergy tests are pretty expensive and insurance didn't cover some of them. read more

Epic Fail! I went to this facility seeking help for a serious medical condition. I thought I had found an amazing place to finally get assistance with my medical issues, however, on my second visit, the receptionist claimed that I was 15 minutes late and said they doctor would not see me (no I wasn't!) and besides, there was absolutely NO ONE in the waiting room at the time, so what was the problem? I was there to get my medication adjusted, which was paramount for my condition. Before this all went down, I was sitting in the waiting for almost 20 minutes before the receptionist even said anything to me! This facility never contacted me to adjust my medication or follow up in any way. As a result of this, I had an extremely adverse physical reaction. Do NOT trust these people - in my opinion, they are unorganized, uncaring and inept. read more

I cannot in good conscious even rate the administrative side of this clinic. The employees who have worked with myself and then who were laid off were the best co-workers. These employees I would rate as a 10. As a nurse who was "laid off" after I stood up for myself and my patients, I am incensed how the patients of Maricopa have and are being treated. The LPN S. who is working there is the very best. Unfortunately, she will be burnt out as there is not enough staff to cover all that needs to be done. The only way this clinic will survive is a total admin over haul. read more
