I've never had trouble making an appointment day-of, and I've had a different masseuse every time and they've all been great! This time I had Martin -- he was very friendly and fun, but not overly chatty, so I still felt relaxed. And he did a great job checking in with me about the pressure he was using, and making sure I was comfortable, at the right temperature, etc. He even managed to massage my legs a little which is no easy task -- I'm SO ticklish on my legs. I asked for medium pressure this time (medium firm last year was also great, but I wanted a little more relaxing and a little less intensity today). I'm sure it's challenging to guess what "medium" means to each person, but he really nailed it! I get massages regularly (about once a week) and enjoy trying new places with my girlfriend, so I have a good sense of what a quality experience feels like. This was a more expensive session at $100, so I went in with high expectations and The massage itself felt rushed from the beginning, with no real flow or transition between techniques. It was repetitive and often more painful than relaxing. I understand Thai massages can be deep and intense, but there's usually some balance with relaxation this didn't have that. It felt like the therapists were more focused on grabbing lotion and hot stones than actually working on our bodies Overall, both my girlfriend and I felt like the experience lacked care and intention.
