This is not the quality of RV resorts I normally find for Sun Outdoors. I only stayed one night but found the sites are super small, cramped in tight and I saw many permanent or semi permanent residents which made the park look dilapidated. Since there are so many residents the internet is non existent. You are charged a 15.00 resort fee which is a joke. If you're looking for quality resort don't stop here read more

1. This park is across the street from an oil refinery. We have a kid with asthma. This is a deal breaker for us. (See pic) 2. Safety. Other are parks do criminal background checks, but they do not. Anyone can stay. They have a gate but it does not work. Anyone can come onto the property day or night. 3. The WiFi does not work. 4. There are unattended children throughout the property. We have seen young children walking toddlers at dusk.....not safe as drivers speed through the park. 5. Bad communication. Talk to one front desk staffer, they will tell you one thing, another staffer will quote another....be sure to get a receipt. 6. Noise. Apparently you can play loud country music at all hours. There is a BMX park next door. If you like hearing motorcycles bikes all day, this is the place for you.... read more

We came in after hours and the checkin instructions were very easy to follow. The streets are wide and well maintained. The site pads are very nice - wide, paved and even a designated parking pad for your toad. Nice grassy area and table setup. Clean common areas and a nice community camp fire area and other amenities. The directions were missing a step and we got turned around. And I can see that some people might be bothered by the industrial neighbors. It didn't bother us. It is a little pricey for a one-night stay, but overall a good stop. read more

M husband just stayed here for the last month, and he was constantly complaining about the smell due to the campground being so close to the sewage treatment centers nearby. It was a pretty awful smell both times I visited the campsite. Glad I wasn't staying with him! read more

Wow! After staying at other Sun Outdoors properties, we were ok paying the higher campground rates expecting what we've experienced before in other cities. This place has deferred maintenance, bathrooms need upgrades, and it's jam packed. There are obviously permanent residents with piles of belongings outside their rigs. The worst and unforgivable is the horrible sewage smell when the wind changes. While I don't know exactly what the cause is, other campers said there's a refinery nearby. No way could we enjoy being outside our camper. Also, the highway noise affects much of this park. Never again would we consider staying at this Rv "resort." Yuck. read more

Beautiful RV park located conveniently off I-215. Gated, immaculately clean with an overall good vibe. The spaces are extra large, level and paved. I really loved that there were trees. The coin-op laundry facilities are open 24-hours and I found the cost to be reasonable. There is a beautiful clubhouse with a full kitchen, pool table and games. The comfort stations were clean and the staff was amazing. I would definitely recommend this spot for any type of traveler. I would disregard some of the poor reviews. Impeccably maintained RV park- I constantly saw their employees riding around in their golf carts tending and caring for all the facilities in this park. You get cookies upon check in, and a map to guide to your site. We have a 29' feet travel trailer without the hitch (34' including everything) and we were placed in a Deluxe plus site. It has a level concrete pad, tree, picnic bench and full hook ups. This particular spot was a bit tight- we have dual slide outs on both sides and everything fit but it was squeezed in tightly. We had to maneuver our truck sideways to not block anybody. We made it work. They do have bigger sites, so if this concerns you, opt to pay for the bigger sites. All sites are pull through. They also offer cabins for those who aren't hauling around their own homes on wheels. Shower/toilets are individual and need a key pad passcode to enter and use them. Restrooms are located in three or four different areas and each have their own unique codes. I took a pic of the map with the codes on them so I don't forget any of them. This place is dog friendly and they don't charge extra for your dogs. We saw a Doberman pinscher, and I never see this breed at RV parks as they are usually banned. Two fenced in dog park areas are separated by size- small/smaller breeds and large/larger breeds. Our dogs are small and medium so we stuck to the small size. We did check out the large dog park and I liked the small breed size area better- it seemed cleaner. Doggy poop bags and trash cans are located in many places throughout the park. They even have an outdoor dog wash area! You have to provide the shampoo and conditioner but it'll save your back! The best part of this park was the Jordan River Trail accessible by foot or bike right from the park. You can run, walk (with or without your dogs), or ride your bikes (non motorized) and it goes for 45 miles! The nice ladies in the office will give you a map to help you out. They also have a human sized chess board, corn hole, playground for kids (yes, this place is family friendly, pool, pool table and much more. I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely use it again. It is by the freeway so convenient to get in out to check out SLC but can be a bit noisy, depending on your rig and your sensitivity. Plus, it is near the Chevron refinery so sometimes it was stinky outside. We weren't bothered by it because the numerous pluses made up for the very few cons. read more

Where do I even begin to express my gratitude? We stayed with sun outdoors before we flew out for vacation, while having our RV serviced next door at Bish's. When we returned, we ran into some trouble with Bish's and basically lived there for a whole month while waiting. T Suzie, the sweet angel that she is, was there for us every step of the way. Never failing to offer words of encouragement and a big smile. She went above and beyond with our requests, remembered our names, and tried to make our extended stay as hassle free as possible. Meagon was also extremely notable and kind with our situation. Together, they made our unplanned extended trip bearable. The park itself is extremely well maintained and clean. Since we stayed through two holidays, we also got to see their adorable, extensive decorations during this time. They take true pride in their work and it shows. We've stayed here many times. My brother lives in Draper and this has always been a comfortable and safe place to stay when we visit him. We're currently heading home from a west coast to east coast trailer trip. We always get the most expensive sites here because the cheaper sites are often cramped, dirty and uncomfortable. On this trip back west we noticed that they are charging an additional $20 for what they call a "resort fee"!! Apparently they charge extra for the use of the pool, or other amenities that all RV campgrounds provide to try to attract visitors to their campgrounds. Here you pay extra even if you don't use their pool or showers. As others have pointed out, they seem to be catering more to permanent residents than actual RVers. Most of the park is permanent residents. If we ever come back again it will be with the condition that we don't pay the "resort fee"! And they pad locked the dog park!! Our dogs go early. I hate taking the dogs out in the dark and finding the dog park pad locked!! read more

This is a Sun RV Resort which means close and tight. Not my choice for an rv resort but it served its purpose for a one night stop before Zion River Resort. It was 90+ degrees so not much time outside at all!! Really didn't see anyone outside. We left early the next morning for Zion. If you just want a stopover for one night it's okay. I wouldn't stay any longer but from the looks of those around us, some people think otherwise. Salt Lake City traffic is similar to Atlanta so next time, will look for a different route. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful but really didn't offer much information about the amenities the Resort offered. Three stars because of the closeness of the sites and how tight it is. I had booked a pull through site, but it was not long enough for the car. We had to unhook it. read more

This was a nice place to stay. Everything was clean and kept up. Pool was is not very big but it was nice and clean. The location is by a freeway and it was convenient but you could hear the traffic. We stayed here for one week in October. I can't think of anything good to review about, so here goes... Office staff is lazy and incompetent. Why? Keep reading. 1. They rarely answer the phone when you want to call and ask a question. Because of that, my husband had to drive to the office and ask for propane from one of their THREE tanks. They told him to go to the gas station. I immediately called the office myself to ask why there is no propane. She said there was. So they are too LAZY to step outside and help you. 2. It's somewhat noisy here. They have golf carts driving up and down the rows pretending to do something. You can also hear the noise from the freeway. 3. The bathhouse closest to us doesn't work. There are out of order signs on every door. We called to say the light doesn't turn on in the shower. She said to "take a shower in your rig". 4. The clubhouse was closed. It's easy to limit guests. We are grown adults. The pool was closed. There were no bikes to rent. 5. WiFi and cable is a joke. Nothing works but one channel. They need WiFi extenders or something. Hopefully your hotspot has an unlimited plan. 6. We ordered Walmart delivery. The driver was too lazy to come to our spot so they left the groceries by the office door. It sat there for two hours until I made many phone calls trying to track it down. Like I said before, the office was too lazy to notify us. Walmart gave us a refund. 7. And beware, the premium spot we had are for big rigs only, and not travel trailers. So if you want that extra room, make sure you have extra hoses and such. These people don't give any concern to those with short term stays. We caught onto that real fast. Despite their generic response on Yelp, they do NOT appreciate feedback, they do NOT take pride in serving ALL guests, they do NOT value you, they are NOT committed to providing you a great experience, and they definitely do NOT care if they see you in the future. We do NOT recommend this 'resort' to anyone. read more

I should have read the reviews before I booked. I noted I had a 30' trailer and truck, what I got for a site was tiny and cramped. If you want to have room next to your trailer to do anything then book the more expensive sites so your trailer and truck can be in line. The cheaper sites are just too small. If you need propane, you probably should check when the correct people are there to pump it for you, I had a big disappointment when trying to refill a tank, I ended up having to find a Tractor Supply. For the most part the park is clean, dog runs are nice, but they are pretty much all on one side of the park again closer to the more expensive sites. I would probably not stay here again unless I was desperate. read more

We stayed 2 nights here and the park is very clean! Lots of amenities such as a doggie was area, two dog parks, laundry facilities, bathrooms all over. Very close quarters, we have slides on both sides and it was tight. A lot of people living here, but very nice people read more

First reaction is Sun Outdoors in N SLC is new, clean. We have 2 Doodles and were put in a handicap cabin while every cabin nearby was vacant. Why? Shower in unit sprayed all over the bathroom. Curtain was not fitted to handicap shower unit. Latches on dog park gates had knife like extensions. My dog took off on leash while exiting the dog park gate. I received a 4 inch knife wound. Thermostat in room was fixed at min and max temps. Really? Not customer centric attitude. read more

We have stayed at the now Sun Out Door resorts, formerly Pony Express in N S. L. Ut for over 7 years annually. Beginning around 2020 there have been more and more long term renters. This year 10/22 we arrived for a week. First thing we noticed was most of the grass area's were dead and over grown with weeds. Many spots were mud or dirt. It appeared the long term rentals had grown and had the overall look of a run down trailer park. The rules and regulations policy sheet they hand out is a joke... unless there is different set of rules for short term. The majority of the long term rentals were in violation of the RULES.. Wi-Fi non-existent.. Their last item on Policy sheet... General Conduct & Removal... Guests are required at all times to comply with the rules and regulations.... THIS IS A COMPLETE JOKE... We will pass this on to our RV community and if your reading this the only sites acceptable are the B sites.. don't accept anything else, you will be disappointed. read more

The park its self is fantastic. Clean, plenty of dog space. Nice people. Location is next to freeway but we didnt hear any noise. Took us about 10 mins to get to downtown Salt Lake City. Grocery store is close. Office has essentials & staff is awesome. Backs to Jprdan River walking trail. The river is not swimmable and prob not safe for dogs but it is a nice walk from the park. read more

Differently a bait and switch kind of place. The photos on the website are nothing like the spot you get. The weekday staff is rude and makes sure you understand you are an inconvenience to them. The internet and cable never worked during our one week stay. Also the smell from the refineries is awful. Will never stay at this Sun Outdoors location again. read more

We made reservations to stay one night in a cabin July 2022. We needed a beautiful place for one night while checking on our adult kids during Covid. I used the AirBNB app as I've done many times before. The cabin was close to 200.00 a night for two ppl. Unfortunately we contracted Covid a week before traveling. I cancelled my reservation over the phone & expecting a refund of some kind. After a month & no credit, I made a call to the office, the woman who answered was rude & told me regardless of a global pandemic, they were not refunding anyone's money for any reason. The woman got angry when I asked if we could reshuffle our trip to not loose our money. She hung up on me... don't give these ppl your money!!! read more

A very nice RV park conveniently located in Salt Lake City just off the freeway. The easy access to I-215 makes it easy to get around the area. The sites in the park are mostly pull through. Each site has a concrete pad for parking with a small grass area with a picnic table. The park has multiple restrooms and showers located around the park, a clubhouse and a nice small pool area. To me, people and customer service is number 1. This place lacks that. The staff was very unfriendly to me. I was there on a solo trip, and when I arrived Christmas Eve, the front desk seemed annoyed when I arrived around 4pm. Not welcoming at all. The campground is VERY tight. Just barely enough room to put my pop outs out. Forget the awning, no way. During my stay I was confronted by a staff member in a golf cart. He told me I was parking my truck too close to my neighbors and I needed to park closer to my trailer, even though I was well within the boundaries my parking space (see attached pic). He told me I was banging into their trailer when exiting my passenger door. I explained I was there alone and nobody was entering/exiting my passenger door, so it was impossible for that to happen. I also tried to explain that I couldn't park any closer to my trailer because I was a double leg amputee and I needed to be able to open my door enough to get in and out of my truck. He didn't listen to me when I tried explaining that, he didn't even acknowledge that fact. For the majority of my trip, I was away from the RV park, just there to sleep at night. I was also confronted by one of the staff members about why I was coming in late every night (between 10-11 pm). Really??? None of their business. They are very condescending when they talk to you. Like I was some kind of trouble maker. It was very upsetting. The remainder of my stay I felt like I was walking on egg shells every time I was at the park. It put a real damper on the rest of my stay. I was planning to stay longer, but decided to go somewhere else, I just felt uncomfortable there. I do a lot of camping and I visit lots of RV parks. I can deal with cramped campgrounds, but I expect to be treated like a customer, not an imposter. As I said, customer service is always #1. I'm giving this place 2 stars because it was clean and conveniently located. But I will not stay here ever again and will not recommend it to my RV friends read more

One of the worst campsites we've ever stayed at! Our site had trash and cigarette butts on it. I asked if we could move or get our campsite cleaned and the guy was extremely rude to me. He was also rude to my friends prior who were given the wrong campsite. Also, he made fun of me for wearing a face mask and asked me to leave. He was not wearing a face mask. As far as the campground it's self, the sites are extremely small, there's no crosswalks between sites so you have to go all the way to the end and then around, and there's not much surrounding the campsites either. We stayed at Mountain Valley RV Resort in Heber, outside of Park City, on our way back through Utah and I highly recommend you stay at Mountain Valley!!!!! read more

Beautifully managed and built RV park/resort. Very clean and very well designed. Spaces are huge for what ever rig you may be driving/pulling. Full hookups and WiFi available. The free WiFi is a bit slow, but they do offer the option to upgrade to a higher speed option. They had a dog walk and a small trail around the grounds that you could take your pets to. A large chessboard and a small play area as well. The price was a bit higher than expected, but well worth the extra money as the facilities were superb. This rv park is exceptionally. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. While it is true that many of the folks staying there are full time residence that adds to the community. We travel a lot and I have never found a friendlier staff, and beautiful and clean facilities. We travel with our grandkids and they loved the playground and swimming pool. As an added bonus we did laundry while watching the kids in the pool. They also rent out bikes and bicycle cars for family fun and we loved the big chess board. There is a trail one can access right off the first row. The park is dog friendly and has a mini dog park and doggy bag stations conveniently located. I saw staff right there to help out some of their elderly residence. This is a place that has heart something so uncommon in today's world. I didn't want to leave. read more

After staying at the Sun Outdoors RV park, Crown Villa, In Bend Oregon, we were VERY disappointed in this RV park. The spots are so close together with trees in between, that we could only open our awning halfway. The dog park was crushed rock, which not conducive to our pups running on the sharp surface, so why bother. We have a nice looking dog fence that we put up to avoid constant tangling of leashes, but we were required to take it down. The location is right by the highway, and was quite noisy. Additionally, the bathrooms were tired looking. For the premium price to stay here, it didn't measure up. The Bend location was amazing, had many more amenities and they were flexible and pleasant. Beware! This RV park damaged my brand new RV and refused to take responsibility. In fact, they jumped quickly to blaming me. At check-in they told me they would open the front gate for me. However as I drove through the open gate it crashed down on the top of my rig. I could not see what was making the impact and since the gate had been opened I was totally confused about the source of the impact. Before I could inspect the damage at my site a park employee rolled up in a golf cart and accused me of hitting and damaging his gate. When I asked how this could have happened he shrugged his shoulders and said "You were in a hurry to get to your site?" I told him I was not in a hurry. It was then that I saw that the fiberglas on top of my RV was damaged (the awning was damaged as well.) The employee told me to finish setting up and then come to the office to discuss the damage to his gate. I immediately went to the office with my drivers license and insurance paperwork. I repeated that I didn't know how this happened since the office had offered to open the gate for me. The employee misquoted me by saying "You said back at your site that you probably didn't wait for the gate to finish opening." I told him I had never said that. He insisted that I had. I then offered him my insurance information. He didn't take it, suggesting that I would probably want to pay cash for the gate, depending on the amount of the repair quote that he would get the following day. I decided to file an insurance claim the next morning. I was found to not be at fault. The RV park is fighting that with my insurance company, telling them that I had offered to pay for my RV damage if they paid for their gate. I had never made any such agreement. I sustained $3000 worth of damage to my brand new RV. Their gate was opening and closing with vehicles passing through by early the next morning. This experience was the only negative on my 3-week RVing trip... a BIG negative. read more

Quick stop overnight in one of their sports cabins. Super clean cabin and campground. Definitely recommend.

The cabin experience at this location is terrible. This park should not have them. The cabins are backed up to the freeway and the sound is so loud you literally can't carry on a conversation anywhere around the cabins. There aren't even picnic tables for the cabins of you wished to prepare a meal. He facilities are clean and well maintained by no amenity could make up for the noise situation. People staying in cabins do so because they don't want to be cooped up in a motel room and want to relax outside. You can't do that at this location. We evacuated early in the morning before eating and had to find a park where we could prepare a meal with tables and shade. read more
