new girl wouldn't let me tan because didn't have I wear and then wouldn't run my card on file she needs to learn customer service

usually love coming in but today i went in for the $5 tan and was almost pressured into buying primer which i definitely didn't need or want. but when i asked why my total was $17 she added an extra thing ive never gotten or asked for and didnt let me know about upcharges on anything else i got. all i wanted was the $5 tan and would've been great to know about the upcharges read more

waited 15 minutes for the staff here to clean a bed with no updates after i was told it would be "just one minute." I didn't have a ton of extra time so this was really frustrating read more

10/10 perfect! One thing I love about Sun Tan City as that I'm able to use my membership no matter what side of town I'm on. I was down in Greenwood, which is not my typical salon to tan at, and decided on a whim to stop in. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and was not pushy to make any purchases. I came in with my own bag of lotions, and since I have quite a bit of upgrade points on my account, they were respectful of my current supplies and shared the month's specials in the event, I wanted to participate. No pressure when I said no thank you and they sent me on my way with a smile on their face. The bed I tanned in was perfect- bulbs must've been changed recently because I got hot, but never sweated (from my days of working in a tanning salon I remember that means fresh bulbs). absolutely would tan here again. read more

I tried to call on Sunday, memorial day, to see if they were open, I couldn't get help with this question either by phone OR chat. Guess I won't be tanning today. Also, when you buy a membership, they tell you NOTHING about how upgrades work, their beds, etc. read more

The very short blonde girl working today angered me. I went in for a 5$ spray tan. She asks me if I plan on going for another one within the next 30 days. I said yes. She proceeded to try and sell me a two session package with very expensive "prepping spray. I said I just wanted the 5$ tan today. She goes well you can do that but you HAVE to have the Prep spray ! Uh I pulled out a can and said is this what you are talking about?! She diligently looks at it and says yes. Hmm guess what I don't HAVE to have anything extra for a spray tan. She was trying to up sell me and get her commission I get that. But don't tell me I have to have this prep stay shit. Then she was rude after the fact to boot. Poor customer tactics! Also I had already paid this company 100.00 up front for tans. read more

After many years since stepping in a tanning bed & 1st time with spray tanning. So far I am highly satisfied with Sun Tan City. My husband bought me a gift certificate for my birthday. Customer service is great. They patiently explained to me how the beds & spray machine works. Also, their plans & how that operates. read more

After having terrible customer service at the Southport location, my mom and I decided to come here and see if we would have better luck getting spray tans before vacation. Kelsey, Morgan, and Leah were extremely kind and helpful. Although their store did not cause any problems they went out of their way to help us since the Southport location would not give us the light of day. I used to go to SunTan City often but it's been several years since I've had a membership or gone tanning at all. I came in wanting to get in a couple tans and a spray the week before a wedding. Aimee at the Greenwood location walked through multiple options with me and was super patient. She asked questions to understand my budget/situation/needs and recommended additional options based on that. Super informative and helpful! Thanks Aimee! Plus, everything was clean and easy to use. Employees are great and extremely friendly although I just bought my member ship at the beginning of the week and am already being charged 83$ when I've only tanned 3 times which I'm not happy about because now theirs a balance on my account and I can't tan anymore until it's paid and I don't get paid for another 2 weeks so now I have a membership I can't use for weeks due to this random balance when it hasn't been a month other than this issue everything else is great read more

I've been coming here for a little over a year now and I've always had a good experience. I don't go tanning often so I am only here once a month at most but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I had a great experience with a staff member tonight who helped transfer some tans for me that I technically shouldn't have been able to redeem. I will continue to drive to this location despite the fact it is a little farther than another for me. Always clean, friendly, and fast for a reasonable price. read more

I just recently moved to the area and wanted to get a tanning membership for year-round tanning. The facility is clean and the beds are great, but the goods don't really out-weigh the bad. The sign up process took 20+ minutes and every visit since has been met with long waits (1 occurrence of being told to take a seat and then forgotten about) and rude employees. I love the facility, but after my membership is up I will not be returning. Would not recommend for anyone new to the area. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff, I've only had to wait 5mins once out of about 50. Clean rooms and quick service.

Rhonda, the Salon Director was EXTREMELY rude & unfriendly. I had my daughter & nieces in town for prom dress shopping. I tanned here the week before & took advantage of their $7 special for any bed your 1st time & my nieces wanted to try the beds out bc I bragged about them. Rhonda told them it would be $34. I then asked about the $7 special & she acted highly annoyed & was rude. Also, instead of offering them the winkies for $.59 she told them it would be $3+ for eyewear. Again, I had to ask about the winkies at which she responded they were out, at which time one of the employees pulled them out from behind the counter & said "no we're not." She continued to be rude while entering the girls information. She stated the recommended time of 7 minutes for your 1st time to the girls. Both girls tan easily & the asked for the full time at which Rhonda rolled her eyes. Maybe Rhonda was having a bad day, or maybe that's just how she always is. Either way, unacceptable. read more

Even though I am giving it a four stars that is because this is my tanning location this is where I go and I absolutely do love the staff. They do have awesome customer service but there are times where customer service is lacking at this location the past manager that was here that transferred to another store are used to work here and it was literally for two days and I had to get paperwork filled out for me getting my insurance back and everything because this job messed up some stuff when I got it and I went and I'm not allowed to call corporate myself only they are allowed to do that and the manager told me right there on the spot my paperwork was going to be faxed and she was going to be getting in contact with them this was around either Christmas or New Year's eve and I still have not gotten any of the paperwork or anything completed that I needed done by my manager who is no longer at this location and is working at another store. The bottom line of it is is this information that I need from corporate is very important if you have an employee that has worked for you and you know they're no longer working for you it should not take that long to get a hold of corporate to have a piece of paper signed so I'm actually able to get my medical coverage back considering when I got my job at messed things up so if you cannot do that for a past employee and a customer who's been coming to this location religiously then I don't understand exactly why you have a corporate number if customers can't call that number for assistance as well because clearly my old manager is not getting what needs to be done because way too much time has passed. Also this location I just want to give much props to all the great customer service and all the awesome hard workers there actually are here and Dude do their job and do respect every single customer that walks through these front doors I would've given this a five star rating if I wasn't upset with everything that had to do with my paperwork and corporate but that kind of stuff is important it's important to do for a person that used to be your employee and some Porten to do for say if a customer needs a walk in they had an issue I'm sure it would be dealt with and done within a matter of minutes nothing should be said it's going to be done and less it's done. But other than that everybody at this location I love their very informative about their products for new customers coming in and I am definitely going to keep coming back even though I'm having problems with corporate my old supervisor but that kind of stuff can be dealt with if you have a good customer service your customers are going to keep coming back! My daughter signed up to tan before spring break. We specifically said to the cashier that we only wanted to purchase one month. She began shoving clipboards at her, fingerprinting both my daughter and me, and asking for signatures on the signature pad. We thought it was all squared away until the following month when $43 was charged to my card. We had been automatically charged for a second month, which the cashier NEVER mentioned. Also, when we signed up, the cashier said $49 would be the charge for that day, and when I got my bill, it was $83. I got nowhere by calling or visiting the store in person. They cancelled the membership, but said no money could be refunded. This place uses the old "bait and switch" technique. Don't be fooled and check charges carefully. read more
