This is probably the worst sun tan city I bought the best membership previously maybe a few months ago and I took a break from tanning & figured I would get just the spray tan membership or even a few visits, the OLD lady at the counter made me feel like I was a broke dumbass which I clearly make 6 figures a year at 24 years old anyways she was acting like I had to get the same membership I had previously just to get a spray tan and was not helpful on what specials they had with spray tanning I clearly told her I only wanted a few visits due to moving away, however sun tan city do better and hire people with great interpersonal skills and communication. I ignore the previous reviews on this place thinking that going in for a spray tan would not be a big deal. I am an annual member of suntan city and I get spray tans all the time. I went in and specifically told the lady what kind of spray tan I wanted. After going in the booth it was clear that the spray tan wasn't set to the settings I asked for. I called the front desk and was told that the settings weren't what I asked for, and then she said in a weird kind of way the only thing you can do is go home and take a shower and come back and redo the tan. Then she hung up on me there was no apology no anything I just got dressed and left now I have orange skin. Pay attention to these reviews because I wish I would have. read more

Do not do business with this company. I was told that by purchasing a membership it would save me money for the handful of visits that I needed, and that I could easily cancel it after 1 month. Here we are 5 months later and I continued to get charged EVERY MONTH despite multiple calls to the corporate office asking for my money back and for my information to be deleted. Listen. I don't write Yelp reviews very often (like, never) but I had to write one for this location because they are THE BEST. The service is always phenomenal, the promos are great, and did I mention the service is AMAZING??! The manager Logan is an absolute doll, and you can tell he manages his team and business well because everyone on staff is so knowledgable, friendly, and never pushy. I honestly can't believe this place has any negative reviews. Also, Logan and his team are way better than the West End location, so if you're in between the two, I'd pick Green Hills. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID the RIP OFF that is Sun Tan City at all cost!! The customer service here is the worst! I have had a membership at STC for over a decade but they no longer care at all about their customers- they ONLY care about making money. The "product" is not even good any more. I used the sunless tanning bed twice in the month of June- one time the machine stuck at the bottom and sprayed my feet until they were so orange and dirty looking it was an embarrassment. The next time I went back (different machine) the spray came out but there was no color to the solution whatsoever. Maybe I should be grateful for that after what happened earlier in the month (insert eyeball here). But my real issue with STC is their TERRIBLE customer service. I often have to "freeze" my membership because I travel for work weeks or months at a time to states that STC doesn't have locations. Now keep in mind when I am in town I pay roughly $125 a month to spray tan 2-3 a month so they already get a fair amount of money for the subpar product they put out. I have never had a problem with how much money I have to pay STC as long as I can use my membership. On December 31, 2019 I tried to freeze my membership through the app but the app locked up/ was down. So on January 1, 2020 when I was charged the full amount I emailed the company and asked them to review my account and please reimburse me for the month of January since I was not going to be in town January through May because of work. They eventually reimbursed my money for January but when I got back into town and tried to unfreeze my membership in June they told me that STC had cancelled my membership and I would have to reopen a new one. I didn't understand why but did so anyway- so tonight since I am leaving town tomorrow for work and will NOT be in a state with a STC I went to freeze my membership ONLY to be told by a girl named Tiffany that since my membership was so NEW I wasn't able to freeze my membership yet. I have been giving STC hundreds of dollars every year for OVER A DECADE and tonight I was told they don't care I can't use the membership in July I still have to pay for it because I am NEW member. WTF?!! It's all just a money grab for these heartless ass****s. My husband lost his job in March and I am just now able to go back to work and have to do that in Louisiana where there is NOT a STC- but they are taking my money anyway. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE and don't trust them and get into any type of contract with them. They will NOT work with you and honestly don't care about you at all. Find somewhere else to go!! On a side note, I use to think that Comcast or the DMV had the worst customer service in the state of Tennessee- but the jerks at Sun Tan City are twice as bad as the two above mentioned combined. read more

Weirdest experience ever. Super sweet customer service. I spray ALL the time. Girl talked me into a primer and emphasized using barrier cream and coating my hands and feet. I did. I wake up this morning. My entire body is still pale, no tan, except my hands and feet. They're ORANGE!!! I just wasted $36 for only my hands and feet to get orange and no tan on my whole body. So in essence they think the barrier cream isn't working-ya think?! They have no way to fix it except some $19 color corrector. So now I have to pay to fix THEIR mistake. **** UPDATE- bought the barrier cream for $22 after tax. Didn't work. I look like I have a skin disease. So now I'm out the price of a spray tan + $11 in primer + $22 in "color corrector" that does NOT work. The store in Franklin then told me yeah, they just wanted to up charge you and we can't do a return. I'm done with sun tan city in Nashville. Such a rip off. **** read more

I have been an on/off member of Suntan City for 5 years. I have always gotten light or medium spray tans (I've gotten tinted and clear in the past of both shades). I may not frequently get them, but I am sure of what is expected from them and my two spray tans (2/3 spray tans to use out of the package I bought) were horrible. The first one was light (which they recommended) and I chose clear because I did not have anything I was going to that night. I woke up not even half a shade darker. It was also supposed to include a double pass on my legs; it didn't. Next I got a tinted medium and my entire body was splotchy with really dark spots here and there. It was horribly messy and rubbed off on my entire outfit (thought my several rounds of drying were supposed to fix that!!!!) Most importantly, whom I believe to be the manager (name starts with a J) is RUDE. When I shared this experience with my friends they knew exactly who I was talking about and had shared that she too had been very rude/pushy to them in the past. They do not frequent this location anymore and neither do I. When I lived her back in 2014 I remember how friendly everyone was and had a super super nice manager. WHERE DID THEY GO???? read more

I don't know why the reviews are so terrible here. I have been coming to this location and many others in the Nashville area for several years. Everyone... and I mean everyone who works here is SUPER kind and helpful. I would say if you have an unpleasant experience, give them a chance and just ask to speak with a manager to make it right for you. I know I am a very pale whitey, but I can actually get pretty tan if I put some effort into it. I used to tan in tanning beds all the time....alas, the beginnings of crow's feet caused me to stop that a loooong time ago. Plus leathery skin and melanoma is not a good look. However, spray tans are something that I was very curious about so I went in to try it out. I first spoke with a guy that works there and he told me all about the spray tans. They aren't orange anymore (no carrot extracts, now other things that are more brown in color), what packages are available, how to use color maximizer, if you should use the hydration spray down and all that. So I decided to try a session to see if I would be interested in getting a package deal later. So I got the medium clear with hydration. The guy showed me how to use the bed and the cream that blocks the areas you don't want tan, etc. The machines are way better than the first versions were....just be sure to hold your breath when it starts spraying! Afterwards I went home and waited. By the time I went to bed I was looking pretty brown....it was a good color and I managed to avoid tanning my palms and fingernails so I was pleased. The next day at work everyone was all WOW you look DARK (I mean, when you go from translucent to medium brown people are gonna notice) and everyone thought it looked good. Sweet. So I signed up for an unlimited package and have committed to myself to go once a week. You can pause it at any time or cancel it as well. The check in process is easy and they use fingerprint scanners to ensure it is you. And no appointments, you just drop in. I haven't had to wait yet but I figure I may have to if I go on Thursdays since everyone wants to get their tan before the weekend. If you don't want premature wrinkles, skin cancer, and skin that looks like a saddle, give this place a try for the sunless tanning beds! If you want that other stuff....well....don't say I didn't warn ya! read more

This is by far the worst STC location that I've been to. Unfriendly staff and a filthy facility. The speaker on one of the spray tan machines has been broken for months and will not give you direction on when to change positions - I've brought it to the attention of staff members several times. I live 3 minutes away from this location and would rather make the 20 minute drive to Brentwood spot instead. read more

It may surprise anyone who meets me that behind the pale exterior lays someone who occasionally sets near-naked ass into a machine that irradiates my skin with artificial sunlight. It all started a couple of years ago when I was heading to Australia for the second time. I had not been there for 15 years, but my friend there insisted that it was terrible now with no ozone and I would burn to a crisp if I did not have a base tan. It being February, I was not going to manage to get this naturally, and with the expense involved in getting over to Australia in the first place, I was not going to spend any time down due to being fried. I signed up for Sun Tan City, 1 month. It's been a couple of years now, and every few months STC will run a "free tan week" for club members (which I fall into as I had a plan at one point). So I've been going back for the free ones as my ghastly paleness keeps me up at night. Of the three Sun Tan Citys I have been to, this one seems the best balance of speed and niceness, which means your wait is generally a couple of minutes and they don't feel the need to push too many products on you (although it may just be because I am large and hairy they stopped pushing lotion). I don't know what going prices are for tanning places as nobody wants to post their prices (it's a tanning bed, they're pretty much going to be the same technology) but STC seems a little higher than I would expect. read more

HOW DO WE GET THE OLD SPRAY TAN SOLUTION BACK? I've never in my life had a spray tan come off this badly and I've been a customer at STC for 10 years now. In two days, your body is half orange/half white. As it comes off, it gives your skin the appearance of stretch marks and scales even with hydration. HATE HATE HATE. PLEASE FIX THIS SOLUTION or change back to the old one. 10/10 do not recommend getting a spray tan from STC until the solution is changed. read more

Spray tanned last night before my trip to Europe today and I was disappointed. The good thing is they were running a great promotion for $10 spray tans but you definitely get what you paid for. I didn't even get tan and I had to leave for the airport this am!! Not sure if the booth in room 13 is broken or just doesn't spray well. I feel every time I have sprayed here, it's never that dark and I always ask for the darkest. I can't even tell I spray tanned!!! Such a bummer, good thing only paid $10. read more

I've been going to this location bi-monthly for a couple years now. The service isn't great, but as long as you don't go on a Thursday or Friday night you shouldn't have to wait long at all. You can also use the app and check wait times, which is what I always do. I get the dark spray tan with hydration and I've never had an issue with the way it turns out, (and I'm pale with fairly dry skin). You don't need all the extra stuff, primers and extenders, in my opinion. Definitely moisturize daily with a fragrance free lotion, the fragrance will eat away at your tan. read more

I have been to several different tanning salons over the years, and am always wary of signing up for a plan at a new place. When I stopped into STC the other day, I let them know that A) I had never been there before and B) only needed to tan for a month before heading to Florida. I wish I could remember the name of the girl that helped me, she was fantastic! Showed me all the beds, took time to explain each one and help me figure out what I needed, not what the most expensive option was. She set me up with a 'flex' plan so I can stop my membership after one month. Its slightly more expensive, but still a good deal. She also let me know their upgrades are half off on the weekend, and filled me in on all their different lotions so I could pick one that was in my price range and accomplished my tanning goal. I have been a loyal Sun Tan City customer and have had a spray tan membership for about a year. Tonight, I visited the location at 4117 Hillsboro Pike in Nashville, Tennessee. The hours at this location are 8-11pm. I rushed to try to make it before closing, as this location is about 20 minutes away from my house. I arrived at 10:54pm when I was chastised for being late by a blonde, female employee named Brooke. She told me if I was not there 30 minutes before closing in the future, I would not receive service. Meanwhile, a male customer came in after me, and was put directly into a spray booth by another employee. This customer was not given any strife about the time, and was sent directly back to the spray booth before me. When I finally got to a spray booth, I undressed and pressed the blue button, as directed by the machine. The machine malfunctioned and the spray nozzles started spraying, but did not move up and down. This was not a user error, as I have sprayed numerous times in the past, but an mechanical error with the booth. I got dressed and let Brooke know what was going on with the machine. She scolded me and asked me what I did to it. She kept repeatedly saying that it had never done this before, insinuating that I had done something wrong. I asked if I could spray in another booth and she pointed at the clock and told me, "no, you need to leave. You can come back tomorrow." Not only was I not able to receive a spray tan, I was treated incredibly poorly and asked to leave. I am very disappointed by the poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I will be cancelling my membership because I refuse to tolerate another interaction with Brooke. read more

Very nice facility, clean beds, and attentive staff...attentive to pushing products and up-grades. Typically, this sort of sales behavior doesn't bother me. I just kindly decline and move on. I live near Belmont College and David Lipscomb ... and when they offer these free tanning weeks it should be that a regular tanner does not have to wait until the freebies are finished... the staff there is really nice and I realize that this is a corporate issue... but if you are hoping to get in and out quickly it will not happen during these free tan weeks... read more

Warning sun tanners. The Green Hills location will deceive and misled you when signing up for membership. My daughter (and I) signed up for a one month membership to get tanned for her wedding. We were told to call to cancel the membership on June 1 and there would be no more drafts. When I called on June 1, her account had already been drafted due to a "fine print clause" that says you must pay for two months to get a one month membership. The staff member clearly understood that she only wanted the membership to tan before her wedding and never mentioned a two month draft. She confirmed that it would be canceled as long as we called on June 1 and even noted the account that her mother would be the one to call to cancel. Either the staff is very poorly trained or they are trained to mislead. Any honest business would have made clear that two months payment would be required, but they knew that she would never sign up and pay two months when she only wanted one month. Besides, what makes sense about having to pay for two months when you only want one month??? Seriously dishonest business. read more
