If you're looking for packaged teas, Asian candies, bags of rice, frozen dim sum, bottled Asian sauces, canned food, and knick knack snacks, then Sun Vin is worth stopping by when you're down on Mulberry. The whole store is stocked with these little impulse buys like Japanese Lychee Gummies, Korean Red Ginseng candy, and Philippine Tamarind-Mango candy. The store is clean and well-organized plus the prices are hard to beat unless you're on San Francisco's Clement Street. For all you snackers and sweet-tooths out there, peep out Sun Vin.

This place has great cookies and all kinds of snacks. I try to stop here whenever I'm in Chinatown.

I felt safe to shop here during that weird time when almost no one was walking around Chinatown.

Packaged goods are on the basement floor. Meats are to the left, produce is at the front, and drinks and sauces are to the back. Prices are quite reasonable although I've noticed that most American products are slightly more expensive. They do offer grabber tools to help you reach higher shelved products, which is nice. I'd definitely recommend HK Supermarket due to its excellent inventory. Just remember to come before it closes since it usually shuts down around 7-8pm.

The prices, which once were the big lure, are also longer quite as good as they were. As some here have noted, they engaged in outright price-gouging during the COVID pandemic, which I found to be obnoxious. But then the quality of the vegetables steadily declined. Perhaps it was a bad supplier or whatever. And they weren't as cheap as they used to be. The service, while never good, has turned rude, and worse at the fish counter. My old fish store on Grand closed so I started going here for fish. At first I didn't mind when "locals" were waited on ahead of me, but frankly it became irritating after a time. I'm not sure it's legal, to be honest. And the prices of fish are not as good, a buck more expensive per pound, than other fish merchants. The rat i saw on my last visit clinched it for me. Goodbye, Hong Kong Supermarket.
