    Falafel was good while hot.

Clean, bright, and cheery inside. Not many seats, maybe 35 altogether. Took mom to lunch. The hummus was probably the best thing we had. Definitely house made, thick and lumpy, with great flavor. Mom said she liked it better than Aladdin's hummus. The falafel were nice until they got cold. They come with more hummus, but some tzatziki sauce would have been welcomed. The meat Donner kebob sandwich was sliced meat, not a kebob, and while it looked like rotisserie gyro meat, it lacked flavor. The small amount of onion, pickle, and what I assume was harissa sauce didn't do much to make it better. Lentil soup was tasty. It had a very thin texture and came with croutons. We both said we'd come back again.

Giving this place 2 stars for the food and ambiance. Very cute set up and the chicken shawarma wrap was good. Fries are served with it but they are just fried from frozen Kringle cut. Hand cut would have been a nice touch. The Turkish coffee was nice too if you like espresso type coffee and I love the presentation how it's served. I was there for about 55 minutes and dined in. I was the only customer. Considering no one else was in there on a Wednesday at noon, I would've loved for the staff at the desk to have been more attentive. There was only one person working but after bringing my meal she stayed in the back talking on her cell phone. I spent $33 plus tip since I dined in and ordered a small order of wings to go. I had to ring the bell when it was time for me to go to an appointment so that I could get my to-go order which was just sitting in the back near the kitchen. I wanted to love this place since cleveland is lacking in Turkish establishments and I like to support local businesses, but clearly who they hired doesn't care about providing great customer service and sadly it doesn't make me care to go back.

Sunay's Cafe is a Turkish spot that recently opened its doors in a shopping plaza in Mayfield Heights (with plenty of parking). This cafe offers an authentic menu and experiences. This includes Turkish sand coffee which a sought after rarity in Cleveland. Also Turkish breakfast! I visited this cafe on two different occasions (for dinner and lunch). I have very mixed feelings about dining here. Genuinely speaking more bad than good (mostly due to service). Ambiance: The cafe is very simple with red and black accents. It's a nice change of pace if you're looking for a casual experience. Seating options are booths and tables. Some tables can accommodate large parties. Even after a few times it's still unclear to me whether the cafe is order at the counter or table-side service. I have done a mix of both during my visits. Interestingly no music plays at this cafe. The cafe's hours aren't accurately posted anywhere online or in store, I'd recommend calling ahead. For instance, they're open much later on weekends than advertised. No reservations needed but you can make them. Service: The service is very awkward, transactional, unfriendly, and uncomfortable. You just don't feel welcome. I say this as an absolute explorer of ethnic eats. The service is also not attentive. For instance, workers disappeared in the back and no one brought the check for a while during my most recent visit. The employee who checked me out was on the phone while checking me out on a personal call. There's a lack of customer focus. Food: The menu is very descriptive with names, pictures, and explanations of the dishes. The employees don't really introduce you to dishes, so it's helpful to have such a detailed menu and explanations in relatable terms. I tried various things on the menu during my visits: - Sumit with Feta Cheese ($5.99) - Basically a pretzel appetizer. Sumit bread was too dry for my liking. - Turkish Coffee ($6) - Gorgeous presentation in a traditional cup and comes with a chocolate. Well made, not the best Turkish coffee I tasted. - Rice Pudding (Sutlac) ($5.99) - Tasty, the best item I've experienced here. Comes in foil container. - Manti (Turkish dumplings) ($18.99) - Remind me of Russian pelmeni. I felt that there was too much sauce and not too much meat. -Water ($2) - Only bottled water is served here at a charge. You can place an order to dine in, to go, and place an order online. There are also options to purchase savory pies (Burek), Turkish delights, and Dubai chocolate. If you're looking to try sand coffee, check this place out. I personally haven't found a favorite on the menu and consider the service to be too awkward to return. I feel that other Turkish establishments in the area offer more hospitality and warmth.

Stopped by Sunay's in Mayfield craving Turkish food, inspired by my grandmother's amazing baklava and Slavic dishes. Unfortunately, they were out of stuffed grape leaves, which was a bummer! We tried their baklava--only got one pistachio piece instead of the walnut we ordered. It was still tasty, but I was hoping for more variety. I loved the mozzarella simit; it's been too long since I had one of those cheesy, sesame-covered delights! The fries were a bit unusual, but what we tasted was good, and my spouse enjoyed the lovely rice and fresh cabbage side. However, the meat was dry, and they were out of lamb, so we had beef instead. I had the chicken and beef shawarma, which I liked, but my spouse preferred the beef. Just a heads up: the menu print is slanted, so bring your glasses if you need them. The staff was great, but they don't carry diet soda. Overall, it was a mixed bag of experiences! PS waitress left out of the box the walnut baklava

Menu presented but prices were higher in the register. It is the responsibility of the restaurant to inform you of price changes.

I stopped there for the first time. They did accommodate my request for no rice and gave me a nice little cabbage salad that came with the meal anyway. I ordered the mixed meat platter. The wings were phenomenal. The other meats seemed dry and Maybe they needed a sauce or other trimmings. But I would return just for the wings. The server was very kind taking my order and making suggestions.
