    Paddle board yoga
    Gina O.

We had our awesome instructor Ashley lead an amazing sunset paddle board yoga session at Mission Bay! It was so relaxing being in the water and it felt great! I thought it would be easy but it definitely challenges you to use your core the whole time so that you don't fall in the water! I would love to do this again next time I visit and I recommend it to anyone who want a memorable experience!

Fun activity with friends I love the ocean~

So fun! I came here with some friends and we had a private class (we were the only ones signed up for a Sunday 1030 class). Parking is super easy if you're doing a morning class. Be careful on the supine twist stretch. She said roll over your body and my paddle board tipped from the weight shift and I almost rolled off the board LOL. Our instructor was McKayla and she did a great job. She took lots of pics and sent them to us which I really appreciate!

This was such a great experience. The instructor was amazing and she even was taking photos for us. Highly recommend it.

What an amazing company! Called last min and so responsive. Texted all info I needed and made sure I clearly knew where I was going. The class was spectacular for first timers and advanced enough for those who knew what they were doing

Thank you for an amazing time!

Amazing instructor, highly adaptable class. We had newbies and seasoned yogis in our group and it was fun for all. I love that they take pics for you too.

Great experience from start to finish! Dana was very communicative and quick to respond via phone/text when I wasn't able to schedule through my Groupon order; and Courtney was a terrific instructor. I have only ever been on a paddleboard one time before (earlier in the week) and have never taken a yoga class. Although a novice, I was welcomed and had no problem keeping up. So, newbies shouldn't be scared, you'll do great - the worst part was lugging the board down to the water and back with one arm. --Most people didn't have issue, but, I'm barely 5' and I think that board weighed 1/3 my weight! Workout accomplished!! And, for those with more experience, you'll still have a good paddle and relaxing yoga session!

Wow, what an amazing experience! Sunchaser Sup provided great customer service at an extremely reasonable price! Upon arriving at the bay, the paddleboards were already set up and waiting on the sand for us. The gentleman assisting us gave us some tips and even brought the paddleboards back to shore when we returned. My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed Paddleboarding and look forward to using Sunchaser Sup throughout the summer!

I had a great experience! Nika was very accommodating to everyone and offered adaptations for different abilities. She even took pics for us and shared. I would definitely go back. (I highly recommend coming 15 minutes early to get your equipment set up and to not hold up others.)

If you live in San Diego and love the water and sun, you gotta get this in your life! At least try it once, this activity is such a great time! Kayla is a fantastic SUP Yoga Teacher and leads an enjoyable SUP Yoga class here in Mission Bay. My friend introduced me to her and her company Sunchaser Sup. I never tried it before, but was never hesitant to step up and give it a shot. The class size is small enough to where you are able to receive feedback from the teacher as needed and feel crowded. In the beginning of class, Kayla gives you a easy and straightforward intro on how to hold the board, adjust/hold the paddle, etc. If I can do it, you can too! If there were any questions, she would answer without missing a beat. Just balancing on your board and properly paddling is a workout on its own! Let's add yoga to it, shall we? The poses start very simple and progresses as the class goes on. However, there are many modifications to the poses if you are not there yet and need some assistance. It is okay! Love yourself, and more importantly have fun! Yoga for me is tough for me already on the ground, let alone on a paddleboard! I easily would recommend Kayla and Sunchaser Sup for your SUP and SUP Yoga needs! It would be perfect to add to your weekly routine and/or invite some out-of-towners to a day of endless sunshine and an amazing workout. Strike a pose with this business, you won't regret it!

I'm no yogi, but I wish I were! Plus I love SUP, so I'm so glad to have discovered SUP yoga this summer. The classes offered by Dana are wonderful! The best way to sign up for a class is through ClassPass. Otherwise, I think classes are $35 each. Dana's classes are offered on the weekends at 12pm and 5:15pm and even on the weekdays a couple of times at the same times. I love that the later afternoon times are offered because sometimes there's way too much cloud cover in the early morning which could make class very dull. The 5:15pm time slot also awards you a sunset SUP yoga experience. I very much want to experience that on the weekday! SUP yoga at Mission Bay meets at their unmarked white van at the south side of Briarfield Dr where they store the boards. You have the option of storing your personal belongings in the van prior to launching out as well. They do make sure to lock it up. For parking, I wouldn't recommend turning down this road since it's very skinny. Scope out for street parking on Pacific Beach Dr., OR you can find one on Rivera Dr. a few blocks down and walk over on the boardwalk. It'll be ~15 minute walk so keep that in mind. We launched directly at the beach at Briarfield. Class started off with a brief paddling lesson, then we grabbed our boards and were out on the water. We paddled out just past the bridge, anchored, and Dana led the flow. This was definitely a more active flow and not just a stretch session. I always find even a crescent lunge difficult to execute while on the board, so know that you'll get in a good core workout. I loved how Dana offered 10 minutes of 'play time' before our Shavasana so we could execute more poses. Some suggested poses were headstands, a crane pose, and a full-on bridge pose. I lack the type of muscles and flexibility to execute these poses, so I took some notes during class and am so ready to nail these next time, hah. During the session, Dana took plenty of pictures with her GoPro and was kind enough to email them to us through her Google Drive later! If you want to compare them to Paddleboard Bliss, the last I checked they weren't meeting at the Fanuel St. launch location anymore, so the new area for classes (near some boats) isn't as serene. Also, Dana's boards are in way better condition (almost new, or very new) and have the best grip. There also wasn't a strict cancellation policy; I was only instructed to cancel if I couldn't attend and no fee was mentioned. Bliss Yoga has a very strict $20 fee for cancellations made within less than 24-hours. However, Bliss IS cheaper per class if you opt to purchase class packages! Through ClassPass, I think I prefer Dana and Sunchaser SUP though!

First off, there's 3 locations I have picked hillcrest because I love the shopping center which is next to my favorite places (Miniso and Trader Joe's and Handels ice cream). Parking lot is big! I usually come early so no issues there but maybe if you come at a busy time such as after 3pm might be busier. I did the intro 4 classss for new clients for about $90 I think. Classes are 45 mins and start exactly at the time. And the classes are sooo good! Each time I've had different instructors and every instructor I've had have been amazing. It's awesome because every class is different and you can always modify the moves to your own fitness level. I am postpartum so this is actually the first time I started working out after having my baby and it makes me feel so good. I have to thank my man for paying for my classes. They are a little bit expensive. But for me, this is worth it. It's my me time now and a fit mom is just an overall better mom lol. I feel like the amount of time the workout class is, is perfect it really makes me push myself. It's very clean in here and I love the aesthetic. It's so good. The reformers are also really nice and I definitely feel so toned after each workout even days later. I definitely want to try a new location just to see how the vibes are but this location is the one I found with the best ratings, if not just the class but the actual friendliness and helpfulness of the instructors which is why I came here. Even tho it's slightly more expensive. I miss being away and cannot wait to come back! Love this and can't believe I didn't try this sooner!

As a total Pilates newbie, I started with the Savor class (the heated one with those HIIT-style intervals) and loved how it pushed me while still focusing on controlled movements and core strength. The heat (around 85-105°F) gets you sweating in the best way possible--it really helps you flow and deepen into the poses. Today I tried Zest, their non-heated option, and it was just as challenging and enjoyable but in a different way--still super effective without the extra sweat factor. The instructors are great at guiding beginners like me, the classes are musically driven which keeps everything moving seamlessly, and the whole studio just feels welcoming and motivating. Never thought I'd be this into Pilates, but SALTVAULT has me excited to keep coming back and trying more formats. Highly recommend--whether you're new or seasoned, this spot delivers! I just wish you know you use a block or a band or heavier, weights, or just change it up because why am I gonna do the same workout four times a week with a different Instructor but the same workout it makes no sense. When I arrived, there wasn't much of a greeting or clear check-in process. The instructor seemed busy, so I ended up putting my things away before even checking in, which felt a little awkward. The studio has a wide variety of equipment, which is great, but there was a lot going on visually. Equipment and bins were spread throughout the space, making it slightly difficult to move between machines. I appreciate the variety, but better organization would really improve the flow of the room. The class itself was unique, with a mix of ages and genders, which I liked. The instructor was kind, asked about experience levels, and offered helpful modifications to either intensify or simplify movements. That said, there were moments where direction wasn't super clear, and some people (myself included) got a bit lost. The pillars in the middle of the room also made it hard at times to see demonstrations. Cleanliness was okay... the equipment didn't look dirty, but it didn't feel particularly clean either. For example, around the weight-changing areas, there was visible dust, hair, and debris. The area for shoes and bags also had a slight odor. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. The instructor and workout itself were good, but the small details (organization, cleanliness, and overall flow) made a difference. I'd probably try other studios before returning, but I wouldn't completely rule it out.
