This is my "Foster" dog Rex enjoying his corner of the couch made just for him

Knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. This place was well staffed and very clean. I came in looking for a puppy and one of the staff discussed how to do that! However, I saw a very handsome Shepard chocolate lab mix (at least thats what he looked like to me) and I ended up asking about his story! Well, the next day I was back to foster him... What a great experience this has been for both of us!!! Please check these folks out if you are ready for an animal friend!!

We got our gorgeous and sweetest little kitty from here who was about 5 months old when we adopted him. He's the love my of life and the most well mannered cat i've ever had! (i've had about 4 cats in the past leading up to this one). We renamed him Willow and I cant be any happier. Everyone there was very professional and even Willow's foster mom was there which really shows how much they care for they're animals here!

Our foster girl Stella! A friend adopted her!

If I could give them 100 stars I would, they deserve it!!! Suncoast Animal League is my favorite organization. We volunteer and foster when we can. Everyone that volunteers is extremely friendly. They have several fundraising events throughout the year and we always go if we can. They are tucked on the side downtown palm harbor. It's a very small shelter but if you are looking for a new family member please give a suncoast animal a chance! We visited their cat room today and they had tons of adorable friendly cats that need a home. Adopt! If you can't adopt, foster. If you can't foster, donate. If you can't donate, volunteer. If you can't volunteer, spread awareness for animal rescue. Thank you Suncoast for all that you do for our furry friends and all the countless lives you've saved.

There are several locations for this wonderful establishment. Recently Our Family adopted a 4 month old kitten from there who was rescued in July and taken very good care of. Give them a Call, stop by a location and take your Fur baby of any age home. Even just to visit or donate a few needed items. The staff is great and you will be sure to have made a great friend connection all around.

SAL does great work! I adopted my dog Enzo from here about 1.5 years ago and he is amazing! SAL does great work and is always taking in injured wildlife as well as pets who need help. A lot of their dogs and cats live in foster homes before you adopt them so they have a better idea of their personality, how they are with other animals and kids, and how housebroken they are. I definitely recommend looking at suncoast next time you want an addition to your family.

The odor in the dog area is overwhelming, reminiscent of decay, making it unbearable for visitors. My sister and I found it impossible to remain in that section due to the repugnant atmosphere. In stark contrast, the cat area was the only part that appeared to be maintained (reason for one star). It is disheartening to see the staff, many of whom were idly seated at computers, failing to address the needs of the dogs. This facility either requires immediate closure or a complete overhaul in leadership to ensure genuine care and effort are prioritized. County commissioners, your attention is urgently needed. Very sad.

Potential adopter was denied. Animal control euthanized the dog on Jan 10, 2025 because dog was old and arthritic. Did I mention there was someone who WANTED TO ADOPT THE DOG????? Shame on animal control for denying this dog a compassionate owner. Also, this potential adopter went immediately to the park when she saw the dog had been abandoned and told Animal Control that she would adopt and provide all needed care for the dog. This has broken the hearts of everyone who was worried about this dog and were prepared to donate towards any needed costs of care.

The man does not care for the welfare of the cats, just wants to make the 'board' (as he called it) happy. I don't know where they found this guy, but he let a bunch of bonded cats get separated, yells at customers, and comes across as angry and hates his job. For the sake of the cats, I hope St. Francis finds another person for this job.

Then there was a coup and the old management was forced out and the New Management didn't want anyone to Know about the money. They continued business like they were broke. It was common practice to run volunteers from Wesley chapel to Riverview to westchase to pick up leftover meds from other volunteers rather than buy new ones or send us to a nearby vet. No respect for our time or our gas money. The last straw for me was when I needed more ringworm medicine stat. Ringworm is tough to get rid of and requires meds in a tight schedule. I'm begging (the rescue head) for more meds and she was stonewalling. Now, I'm all about saving money, but this is a $40 med. What is the problem? You have $1.5Million! When I asked (on our internal Facebook group) about the money and to see the public financial statements, I was mauled. Why all the anger? Why aren't we celebrating this money as a huge compliment of how good a job all the volunteers have done? Why am I in trouble for mentioning the money? What's wrong with asking to see the financials to find out where the money went if I am having to fight so hard to get a $40 bottle of ringworm medication? Bottom line, they can't cry poor mouth anymore when volunteers are asking for medical treatment for their fosters or ask the volunteers to pay for those things. I once paid over $200 to save one of my fosters because they dithered while I was trying to save her. For a year-and-a-half I was paying for litter and food because they didn't mention they provided it, like all the other rescues I've worked with. All we know right now about the $1.5 million is that it is invested. They continue to ask for donations. It's sad to see an organization that used to be so wonderful turn into this. Kathy worked so hard to build up that organization's reputation. A reputation so good that people gave million-dollar donations. Smh....

That give homeless Mama's and their babies a chance. Gianna's Mom came in as a feral cat.
