I have used Suncoast three times in the last 15 years, the last time being last Saturday 10/29/22 and it continues to be my dealer of choice for their automotive line-up! They are a family owned and run operation that seems to pay attention to what matters to the customers and their staff go above and beyond to get the job done. This last purchase my previous sales representative Amy Walker (she was great our 2nd last purchase) wasn't in so we were pleasantly greeted with Devin Wilder's welcoming offer for assistance as we walked in the front doors. Devin, an associate with about 5 years of tenure from my recollection was great in product knowledge while maintaining a very positive "can-do" attitude throughout the purchase process in a comfortable and low-key manner that was simply enjoyable and stress free. Other administrative support staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant throughout the entire transaction. We had originally stopped to see a specific CPO used vehicle which had unfortunately for us just been sold and he offered us other options on a similar new and in-stock vehicle to which we happily agreed! I purchased a used vehicle a month ago from this dealership, which I'm beginning to regret. I understood that I was purchasing it with the various obviously visible dings, scratches & chips in the paint & windshield & the fact that the cup holder cover was missing. I also noticed certain other issues such as the steering being a bit rough during the test drive & upon the salesman showing me the view of the trunk & the location & shape of the spare tire, that the latch was not working at all & had to be replaced, which was taken care of on their end. None of those issues were considered "deal breakers". However, upon cash purchase & taking the vehicle home I very quickly noticed that the rear driver's side window was completely inoperable, which was never divulged to me either via the vehicle's Carfax report or verbally by any of the staff & which is obviously an issue of not only ethics but more importantly of safety. Since the ink was not yet dry on the purchase contract & the vehicle was still literally sporting the temp dealer issued tag that I had just left the dealer lot with, I immediately made several unreturned phone calls to the service department, leaving messages on their voice mail. When I finally received a return phone call days later, it was conveniently after business hours had closed for the day AND the week. I finally decided to just drive directly to the service department & handle it face to face instead of over the phone. That also proved to be a complete waste of time since they told me that it would cost over $430 to replace the window motor on a vehicle they were well aware needed replacing prior to my purchasing it & conveniently chose to withhold from me. Of course, I declined to fork over that ludicrous amount of money for a problem that should have been addressed in the same manner as the trunk latch. Again this is an issue of lack of ethics, in addition to being a safety hazard. From what I understand I am entitled to four free oil changes at this dealership, but I am considering biting the bullet & paying out of pocket in order for a more reputable establishment to handle my future vehicle service issues since I don't trust this crew one iota. My wife & I are also leaning towards dropping the Better Business Bureau & Pinellas County Consumer Protection a line about the unethical conduct perpetrated at Suncoast Chrysler Jeep Dodge Dealership. I strongly recommend for folks to avoid making any purchases or doing any business with an operation like this. read more

I traded in a vehicle with a pay off to get a newer lease. I was screwed over with the pricing. As i try to get out of my lease anywhere else all i'm told is how much more I am paying than needed. I was also told I would have all maintenance covered. I wanted everything as my last car I had a lot of out of pocket expenses. I had a flat tire that needed to be replaced within 2 months of getting the car and was charged $400 dollars. After asking why it wasn't covered and talking to a manager I was told I didn't have the coverage I was told I did when I signed all the paperwork. The only way to get this added coverage was to pay an additional $80 a month, which I signed up for in case of future accidents. Over all I will never recommend this dealership and can't wait to be able to get out of my lease to find a car somewhere else. I've dealt with this place for over 10 years now. In 2014 I leased a 200, when I turned it in they had two lower priced SUV's on the lot, my wife and I sported those for a few good years. Then I traded in my Grand Cherokee at a Chevy dealership and bought a brand new Colorado. Let me tell you, service and warranty issues over there were a nightmare. I won't go into details but Suncoast just happened to have the most beautiful RAM within my budget and I had to go see it. These guys treated me like I never left. Ian worked out a deal for me, Keith hooked up financing, and I even ran into some old familiar faces. Busting chops with these guys was a riot, not your typical dealership that feels like someone put a dentist office in the DMV. Back in the day with that lease, my only critique was that service took a while (oil change/detailing), but right now they're completely revamping the maintenance department, adding tons of new mechanic bays, I can't wait to see what they do with the place. I have purchased over 40 cars in my life and I have never experienced a dealer like this one. For starters, I put down a deposit on a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport S that was in transit. The photo of the car indicated that it was a white truck with black fender flares. The truck came in today and it had white fenders, and although they had agreed to swap out the fenders, they would not be able to do it for a couple of months. There were also a couple other differences apart from the original description. The salesman was no help in helping me resolve these issues. I spoke with the Sales Manager Steve Schack, and I told him that after all the hassle I had been put through due to their mistake in improperly listing the truck, I asked for the concession of them putting on a set of Mopar sill guards - $73 list and probably at least half of that as their cost. He said he would ask the owner. When the time went by with no answer, I told them to call me at home with their big answer. I waited some more and I was told "no!" - they were willing to let me walk over a set of $73 items for a $46,000 truck before taxes in which I was receiving no discounts. Unbelievable. Steve was quite abrupt and not in the least bit helpful - he said that they would refund my deposit. It worked out for the best in that I immediately found a better Gladiator at Fitzgerald Jeep in Clearwater with considerably more features. I bought it. It was like night and day the difference between dealing with the pros at Fitzgerald as opposed to the uncaring derelicts at Suncoast. They even had incentives on the price of over $2000 and I wound up with an upscale model with considerably more features for just $1000 more. In that respect, Suncoast did me a wonderful favor! Addendum: Now these derelicts are claiming that my $500 deposit on a vehicle that they had on order and was in transit when I put down a deposit and is non-refundable. They have sold the vehicle, they are out nothing and they want to keep my money. Needless to say, I will be suing them. Be wise and avoid these people like the plague. There are many Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealers in the area - and they apparently have scruples unlike these clowns! Their representative Mike Henderson called me he was combative and I told him where to go in some strong language. I wouldn't take a free car from Suncoast and I am sad to share the same city with them. read more

I brought my car in for AC issues this summer. It was blowing on cool, not very cold for a summer in Florida. They gave it back saying it was adjusted and now fine. A day later it was blowing HOT air so back it went. They had it for almost a week saying the AC "blew up" and there was debris everywhere. Then the wrong parts cam in. When I finally get it back, I took a long road trip where every 30 to 40 minutes I would get hit with a blast of hot air. I brought it back and they tell me this is the way it should be. That a valve opens so I don't die of carbon monoxide poisoning. Crazy. read more

I originally left a 1 star review but after some times passed I've realized that's far to generous. I had the vehicle worked on early after purchase due to the battery always dying. The starter etc. after a month max the same issues. I've had to jump the car more time than I can count to get it started. The push start malfunctions constantly. I replaced the starter battery on my own and it seemed to fix the issue... it was temporary very temporary. The vehicle alerts says it's not in park so because it's push to start it doesn't turn over. This happens frequently as well. I have missed work constantly for this reason. Being Florida it's constantly sweltering hot so being stuck with my two kids 1 and 5 is always fun. I don't even want to take the vehicle back for repair because I can't trust the quality of work will be there. Shoot tried to post with a no star review and they make you give at least one. Recently had a major repair done at Suncoast after finding I was losing coolant. Head gasket blown. When they got it apart, they notified me of some other issues that needed attention. Jason (and his assistant) did great work and kept me updated with what was going on and were very responsive. He even texted me and sent me a photo of one of the broken parts. Exemplary work. My only complaint was the greasy fingerprints and oil left all over my door handles, hood and steering wheel. Plus, the vehicle was covered with dust (it was clean when I brought it in). I think after the money I spent on repairs that rinsing it off or even wiping the grime off those surfaces wouldn't be too much to ask. But, the jeep is running great so it's a minor complaint. read more

Buyer Beware Buying Any Preowned Car From Suncoast CJD!!! Car was purchased in May and no one ever called at a 1 month interval or at any month interval to see how the car was running. The car was consuming 1 quart of oil per week since purchasing it in May. The service department manager stated this was normal?!? I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Sonata from Suncoast on May 17th of this year. The car was said to be a one owner car with 103,000 miles on it and looked cared for and my girlfriend and I test drove it and it was ok the price was right to $10,999.00. Put $1500 as a down payment got tricked into an extended warranty for $3360 that I have since requested a refund back on July 9th and to date extended warranty has still not been refunded and accredited to my loan balance. Going on 2 months!! The extended warranty was worthless it was only valid for Chrysler and Dodge vehicles only and Hyundai refuses to honor any warranty outside their own warranty when the car has over $100,000 miles on it. Hyundai doesn't recognize or honor the inept extended warranty they sold me for this Sonata. The finance department is very greedy only looking to get commissions out of warranties they are selling that are worthless!! I refuse to have Suncoast technicians work on my Sonata seeing all of the horrible reviews they rece on working in their own car's Chrysler and Dodge and RAM vehicles On Thursday August 22d the Sonata experienced catastrophic engine failure with the rod bearing extension going bad on the vehicle. The Sonata is now at Hyundai at New port Richey and is in limbo waiting to see if Hyundai motors of North America will cover a new engine replacement or not ?? if not I'm in the hook for at least $11,000 loan after the pending extended warranty from Chrysler is refunded. The car was burning a quart of oil a week since we bought it in May a telltale sign of ongoing engine problems for that particular model of a Hyundai car. purchased a truck from here two weeks ago tried to get a hold of somebody for the last two weeks about financing and fixing a headlamp on my truck that's been out since the day I bought it could've never get a hold of anybody talk to the used car manager he told me that my car was sold to me as is which I never remember discussing with anybody when I bought the truck and that they weren't liable for I've literally only had the truck for 2 1/2 weeks they sold me a truck with a burnt out headlamp and will not fix it or take any responsibility for it. Also, the finance manager couldn't even tell me when my payment information will be coming in the mail. He basically told me to do my own footwork and track down my credit union that gave me the loan myself that they set up. I bought a 2022 Ram 1500 in November 2024. It's now January 2025. I've had it for 2 months...first, they tried to screw me out of $600 because they waited for 14 days, until a payment on my trad win car had posted, to actually pay off my previous auto loan. So what I signed on my paperwork for the total loan payoff, was more than what they actually paid my lender because I had a payment draft from my account for a car I no linger even had. And it took me 3 weeks of pushing and fighting with them to finally get that $609 back. A month after having it, it completely died, and could not even be jumped. So I had to have it towed to a Ram dealership closer to me. The battery was so dead it was beyond help. Then the screen went black a few days later and I had to take it in and have some electrical stuff reset. And just last week I discovered that the passenger visor is broken (things you don't think to check when buying a car). So I just had to order a $120 replacement visor. Oh and a week after I bought it, I got notified of a recall on the ABS system that had posted 2 months before I even bought it. So they didn't even fix the recall before selling it to me. Beware of credit card surcharge! Used my credit card to pay for $2300 brake job and brake control module and was charged a 3% ($70) surcharge for using my credit card. You don't expect that at a large business, but I agree they have a right to charge it -BUT DISCLOSE IT UPFRONT! At this point I have to pay it or go home to get my checkbook. Aside from that they didn't follow up when my parts were in and the job took overnight even though I had an appointment. Not impressed with their sense of urgency. i've never had a experience at a car dealership. I dropped my car off. They told me it was gonna be a battery and a starter $1300. I paid the money. They told me to come get my car and it was ready to go only to find out that there's a blown head gasket and I made it 15 minutes down the road never didn't have any of those issues prior to going to be serviced and the way I was treated by their service Director was uncalled for and I highly recommend you to find a different car dealership or a different place to service your vehicle because they are horrible! read more

As a trustworthy place of repair - I like them. But- really disappointed with them at this time. This is the second time they serviced the suspension - and lost my locking lug nut key. The first time I didn't notice it till a month or so later. Okay. My bad. But this second time we were made aware by the advisor while the vehicle was being repaired. He said that they ordered the new set and it would arrive in 3 weeks. Three weeks came and went. It was never ordered and the advisor didn't remember the conversation. In turn they made us buy the key AGAIN. Twice in one year. Next time- I won't sign off till the key is recognized and they write notes into the system and print it for me. I foolishly believed these people three different times. They loosen your locking lug nut key and then make you pay for it. read more

We immediately left for vacation and I come back to wash my truck and luckily I checked my tires. Hmmm...back are more worn than the front. So me being ocd on service, I chalk marked my tires before I brought them in for service and low and behold....my tires were never rotated but they sure did charge me!!! I vow, I will never bring my truck in for servicing. 1st time, you left the dip stick out of the oil pan, 2nd...your tech left oil drippings all over my cloth interior and oil all over the engine compartment...now 3. Will never buy or lease another vehicle from here ever. Miguel the salesman showed up at my house demanding to take a PICTURE of my social security card. There is absolutely NO reason this place needs to keep and store a PICTURE of my social security card on their own personal phones, when my name isn't even on the lease-i am just an authorized driver. I don't have an issue giving them my social security number verbally, but the audacity to take a PICTURE of it on their own private cell phone is WILD. What's to stop this random salesman from posting that picture on the internet? Shady and unethical behavior. Stay far far away from these con artists. Not only did they force their way into my GATED community which makes me feel super unsafe as a young single woman, lord knows what they'll do with a picture of my social security card. Wouldn't be surprised if they sold my identity to the highest bidder. Wish I would have walked out when I had the opportunity and taken my business to a more ethical dealership. Edit 7/12/24: I received a note in the mail saying our loan was denied due to an issue with the credit. There is no issue according to the credit company and the dealership. I called to discuss this with their manager Keith, and to ask why my name was on the lease when it is my dad's car, and to discuss why an employee has a picture of my social security card on his own personal cell phone. Keith called me delusional, gaslit me, lied to me, and then hung up on me when I told him that I explained to multiple employees that I did not want my name on the lease. I called back about 10 times and they screened my calls until I called from a blocked number. Funny how they instantly picked up then, huh? What a coincidence!!! These people are straight up con artists. I will be hiring a lawyer and they will hear from him, just like Keith wanted. Do not go anywear near these criminals. They should be shut down. Truly disgusting behavior and my dad was a Chrysler employee for 50 years before he retired. He said he will never buy another Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep product. Sold our Jeep Gladiator in March. We have had numerous exchanges with the dealership regarding our service contracts refund. They are inattentive and seemingly unwilling to assist us. Contracts are worth several thousand dollars. Each time we call to inquire about the status of our refund...they have more requests for information. Zero stars. Let me save you the expense and hassle from doing business with Suncoast - I would never buy/lease a car here (or with any Dodge Ram, Jeep, Chrysler) or bring it here for service. If you buy a car here they are admittedly (Jeff stated) selling programs for maintenance, oil changes, etc that they will not honor or are having problems honoring (sometimes it's covered, sometimes it's not - even though I paid for this program). Every time I have gone in for routine oil change maintenance, I have to go thru being harassed by the service department specifically Tami Mitchell - Service Advisor who seems to enjoy being confrontational, gas lighting customers, and name calling. Today Tami Mitchell yelled at me and called me a "Dick" in front of her manager Ryan while Ryan said nothing to her. Then I spoke to the other Manager Jeff who once again did nothing, offered no apology for being verbally abused by Tami Mitchell, and was unwilling even at that point after all that, still did not offer to uphold my service program certificate for a simple oil change. I went over to the sales department to find the General Manager or owner and again was given back to service department. It was only when I called from home to ask for the owner was I given the name Wayne Schmidt. I was told he was made aware of the situation but still have not heard from him and again I left my contact info. My lease is up in a couple months and I'll be switching to a reputable brand and dealership with ethics and honesty and treats customers with dignity and respect. They continue to claim that this is a third part issue, but it was Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram that sold the program to me in the finance office. Untrustworthy ! ! ! We had our Dodge Ram Truck towed to Suncoast C,J,D after the brakes locked up. We were told it would be there just a couple of days and that our warranty would fully take care of a rental car. We always buy the rental car add on for cars so we knew we were covered. The communication moving forward was terrible. We were always talking to different people at SunCoast that told us the Truck would be ready in. one-to-two days. We needed the truck for our business and the rental co. they use had no trucks. This was a major issue for us, as we could not work at our business w/o our truck. The Dodge Ram was finally done and ready 23 days later. We were left with a rental car bill of over $600.00. We reached out to Suncoast and asked them to please cover the rental as this brake job should have never taken 3 weeks and 2 days. They were rude and unhelpful and hurtful. Telling us that this is standard and it is Not their fault that the job took 3 weeks plus. Even though we lost work without our Truck-they did not care. We wrote to Suncoast and asked them a second time to please cover the $600 bill for the rental. Stating that we were told 2 days on the brake job and not prepared for this outrageous rental car bill at all. They said tough luck and would not help us. A break job should never take this long. They told us they lost the parts and that was the delay. How is this OUR fault? Why should we have to pay $ for their slow slow slow work ? We called around to other Mechanics to get a quote on the type of brake job we needed. They all told us 2 days-so we know we are not being unreasonable. Suncoast is the one being unreasonable here. They were not high pressure, listened to what we wanted, did not direct us to what they had on the lot. At the time we were looking they did not have anything in stock in the color my wife was wanting. Mike said he would look for what we were looking for and call us when he found the vehicle we requested. It took less than 2 hours and he was able to find the exact vehicle my wife wanted but in a different color. We were happy to make the deal with them and are now proud owners of a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. I went to test drive a car at Suncoast. A few days later, I came back to test drive it again. The tire warning light was lit this time. The sales man told me he would have it fixed. I bought the car and a few days later the tire light came back on. I took it to my tire mechanic who told me that there was a puncture in the side of the tire where it could not safely be repaired. The dealership had just kept putting air in the tire instead of replacing it. I told my tire guy that I have two warranties on the car - one for the car and one for the tires. He told me doesn't deal with warranties as it takes days and up to a week to get paid from the warranty company. The mechanic will release the car back to the owner once they have received payment. I work and needed the car that day. My tire guy didn't have the tire in stock so I took the car to a tire place that sold the tire I needed. They also would not accept the warranty that I had purchased on the car for the same reason. The warranty was not worth it. I called Suncoast and spoke with the guy in the finance office who sold me the warranty. He tried to convince me not to cancel it. I asked numerous times to cancel it. He said he would. Weeks went by and I heard nothing so I called and spoke with him again. He again tried to convince me to keep the warranty. He said it could take up to three months to cancel. Seemed a little ridiculous but I nonetheless waited. I heard nothing. After a few months, I contacted one of the managers at Suncoast and explained I wanted to cancel the policy. He said I needed to complete a cancellation form, something that I had not done the other two times I tried canceling. He emailed me the cancellation form which I signed and emailed back. He said he would cancel the policy. Again, nothing. I emailed asking why the policy still hadn't been cancelled. He said he had submitted the paperwork. I waited months and still the policy had not been cancelled. I tried cancelling the policy since August and it was now February. I contacted the warranty company directly and told them what has been going on for over six months. They apologized profusely. The company rep explained to me that the dealership is the one who creates and cancels the policies. This whole time, Suncoast was deliberately and intentionally not cancelling my warranty policy. They had to refund me 4000 dollars for the warranty and I assume that they kept stalling for this reason. Beware of the unethical and shady business practices of Suncoast. read more

This is by far the best dealership I've been to, and I can't stand car shopping. Amy Simpson, in particular, made the car buying experience quick and easy. She was straightforward, very nice and totally upfront about everything. It was very obvious she knew the business and about the cars inside and out. She actually worked the deal around so I saved money. Who does that anymore?? The only reason there are two stars instead of one is because Ryan and Angelo were great and addressed the issue immediately. First visit: put truck down off lift without tightening lug nuts then realized what they did and corrected it. Second visit: two hour wait, walk in only no appointments. Third visit: did not rotate tires according to their own procedures. Biggest mistake is getting a service plan from the dealer. Never again. My own laziness cost me peace of mind. Now every time I take my truck in I have to stand outside and watch just to make sure they are doing what they said and doing it right. It shouldn't have to be that way. read more

Just 3 days before I left for up north, my check engine light went on (2014 Dodge Journey...oil pressure sensor! It was Friday morning and everyone said 'can't look until Monday'. I decided to take the car to Suncoast so they could get it looked at Monday. I explained to Lori (service advisor) my situation and she said 'we can do that today. Just have a seat in the waiting room.' I was so surprised and so happy! Lori was communicating as things went along. The repair service was great, Lori was wonderful.
