If there was a 0 rating I would give that. If you're thinking about building a pool DO NOT USE Suncor Outdoors. Suncor Outdoors built 2 pools for us. The first pool was great. The second pool has been a nightmare. The coping is loose, the cool deck has come up in several places and the waterfall gas leaked since day one. John failed to put mastic between the deck and coping which led to the coping coming loose and massive calcium on the tile where the water came under the coping. When we've contacted Amanda, John and Suncor in general they say not under warranty, not our fault, but we can fix it for over $1100. I've already paid over $900 for the cool deck repairs. I do not recommend Suncor Outdoors for any pool, landscaping or holiday lighting. My experience has been to stay away now. read more

Lawn Service is good, Company not so good, I was adopted in from another company that sold to them. The guys that do my yard are awesome as they were before they were bought out. The company now has issues in showing up, lies after lies, no one to answer calls, no one will return e-mails! It's total garbage now! So sad that a great company was dismantled to crap! Not only are they expensive but I couldn't stomach paying them all that money to have to deal with such a unbelievably rude office staff...IF YOU USE SUNCOR AND IF YOU GET ASSIGNED TO AMANDA... I've seen a lot of unprofessionalism in my day and that girl takes the cake. She must be married or related to the owner in some way. Otherwise no reputable business would put up with her attitude. Especially if they lose customers over it. I should have listened to my neighbors on Nextdoor. I thought hiring Suncor was a great idea. John was great when he first came out to look at my situation. He was even recommended by one of my other business contacts. He said that this was no big deal, he could fix it all and have things back up and running in no time. He was going to list out the projects and get me a quote. The next day a guy came out a busted up my tile to look at the sump pump (John said he needed to know that to calculate the bid accurately.) The sump pump was fine and the worker said he would tell John. Two weeks later....No quotes to finish the job, but I did get a bill for $350 to bust up my tile. I left messages at the office, no return calls. I text John and he acted like I was bothering him. I finally refused to pay until the job was done. The job was half good and half crap but they won't take any responsibility for it. Now my sump pump went out and the exact same thing is happening. A guy came out and busted up my tile and said, yep it's broke, then left. I got a bill for the destruction but no repairs. I finally got them to come out 3 weeks later and it is still half done but I sure did get another bill. Outrageous!! read more

I personally knew of this business through other business affiliations so I was very comfortable hiring Suncor to do a stamped concrete patio. I thought John knowing who I was would be a benefit. A real smooth talker making it seem like it would be a worry free project but then very poor communication, little to none. After the bid was given, pricing & size discussed & decision made more than a week went by then suddenly a text saying they would be there that day to do the demolition. Then I got a call from John saying that there was a "miscalculation" and he would have to charge me another $1K or reduce the size of the stated sq footage. By the end of the day he stated he had it figured out he "just shaved off a little on the curve" so he made my patio smaller than originally illustrated & quoted. Rain delay for a week but then another week went by before the concrete guys came to lay the form. Meanwhile, my original deck had been torn off down to the mud. The drainage system wasn't completed yet and the form for the concrete was put down. Then the tie-in drains were installed in the wrong place. Had I not pointed it out I'm sure the concrete would have been poured. Then what? The concrete subcontractor's work was not acceptable. Dark swirls where the dye powder was not mixed, many small dry cracked areas that looked like what old cake icing does. Then it was obvious John did not have time for me anymore and clearly demonstrated an attitude and made me feel like I was being irrational in my expectations. The disregard & disrespect by his lack of communication was obvious. He let it be known he was busy with bigger projects. He stated the job was done by "professionals" but a kindergartener can color within the lines better than his guys. A week would go by between communications all the while his office staff was sending me invoices for the final payment and the project wasn't even completed. John reminded me how long he has been waiting to get final payment which, of course is the same length of time I had been waiting to get an acceptable & completed patio. Snarky remark from office staff saying, ".... hope it meets your standards" & she's telling me how busy he is, blah blah blah. Two months for a 1 week project plus many return trips to fix or re-do stuff. The only really perfect part was his gutter guy. Yes, I expected near perfection from "professionals" and the amount of $$ I paid was a lot to me but probably not so much to him & his BIG contracts out in booming Fulshear. Oh... and that review on Yelp from Amanda regarding the lawn service?.... She works for him so of course she's going to post something nice & get good service. read more

I got the Yelp app just so I could write a review warning people not to use this company. This guy John Hopkins came to my house on a Wednesday to give us a quote. He said I'd have it by Friday or Monday. The following Wednesday I had to email to ask about my quote. I got the whole "He has to come take some measurements. It'll be done by Tuesday. We're so sorry, etc." The following week, I emailed one more time and got "I'll check with him, this is definitely not typical of our service, etc." Well, it's been another week after that, and I still don't have a quote. And the other quotes I've gotten are in the $3000 - $5000 range, so it's not like it is a small job. Here's the best part - the guy LIVES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, and we see his Suncor truck at his house every afternoon. So, yeah, they just don't care. ABC Home and Commercial had a guy there within 2 days of my call, and he prepared the quote with measurements onsite. They might be a little more expensive, but service is key to me. Suncor doesn't seem to understand that. My advice is to pick someone else. read more
