We are currently residents of Cedarwood Mobile Home Park. If we knew then what we know now, we…read morenever would have moved here. The park is run by the Board of Dictators who raise our monthly assessment by 5-7% every year. In less than 10 years our assessment has gone up by over $100 a month. Not a huge difference to some, however, this being a low income park there are people here who live on SSI and that $100 could be difference between real food and ramen, between buying pet food or having the animal put to sleep because they can't afford to feed them. There is also a small group of bullies who work behind the scenes to harass anyone they don't like. They act with impunity because the board supports their actions. The board loves to call incidents "member to member" (in other words no board involvement) when it involves those that are labeled "trouble makers". However, if the incident involves a board member or a bully club member, then it's for the board to handle. Security is fluid, if a security issue involves a "good" member, it gets handled. If not, there is no support. The park is not maintained, there are weeds growing everywhere, cracked and sinking concrete in visitor parking areas, trees growing under and through fences. There was more than $50,000 spent to fix the roads a few years ago, some of the roads have huge cracks, which allow water to get underneath and undermine the roads. Over $63,000 was just spent to "fix" the wall on Gerber Road, but the tree roots that were causing the issues were not removed, so they might as well as dug a hole and thrown the money in. Take my advice and pass, for now, on this park. Maybe with new board members it'll get better, for now, if you move here, welcome to Jr. High School.
