I just wanted to give a great big shout to Sundance and staff. I had an event on Sunday 12/15 and the food was great. Everyone loved it the 1st to go was the steak, yellow rice, mac and cheese and baked chicken. There were so many comments on the food. Prices are through the roof here and although the ingredients were good, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and the cheese was melted into the bread vs. cooked with the meat .. we all know why some places do this, it's because they don't want to clean the grill b/c cheese is the hardest thing to clean off a grill so they get 1 star for extortionate pricing and poor execution. A place that is getting close to $20 for a cheesesteak not worth any more than $10... I had to put hot sauce on it so I wouldn't choke from the dryness, think about that for a $20 sandwich.. Among the sandwiches, I recommend the Bronx is Burning Sandwich (chicken cutlet, cherry peppers, onion, lettuce, tomato, mayo, salt & pepper). Fried chicken richness and spicy sweet from the cherry peppers. Among the paninis, the Russian Panini (chicken cutlet, bacon, melted muenster cheese, Russian dressing). Said another way, you won't go wrong with anything involving a Sundance Deli chicken cutlet. And outside the typical deli menu items, Sundance has perfected the art of the quesadilla. Staff is very quick behind the counter and even when it is packed your in and out with plenty of time to eat before your lunch break is over. My favorite item is the pico wrap, packed with chicken, and guacamole then grilled on the outside. The only reason why I am not giving them 5 stars is due to the high prices. Today a wrap, bag of chips and a drink came out to he over $15! Although I do not mind paying for quality I feel that 15 dollars a day for lunch is a bit steep. This used to be a favorite spot to treat myself to a good sandwich or hot lunch special. Now, however (2021), their prices have risen exorbitantly, and the quality of the fare has deteriorated. I ordered a hot sandwich special recently, which upset my stomach for several days. Perhaps the higher prices (and lower-quality food) is due to the higher demand because of the pandemic. Ultimately, if U'm going to pay $14 for a sandwich, it better be good. I needed catering for a rather large event this week and Sundance was highly recommended. At first, I had a hard time connecting with someone that could help me, but once I started talking to them, everything went very smoothly. I gave them some information on how many people were attending and requested vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options in addition to the rest of the menu. They quickly came up with a fantastic, varied selection so that anyone/everyone that attended would be able to find something to enjoy for lunch. The menu consisted of sandwiches, wraps, pasta dishes, beef, chicken, pork, rice, beans, salads....amazing variety. I didn't get a chance to eat anything, but the gluten-free folks were beyond excited and several people couldn't stop raving about the pernil. Literally said it was the best pork they'd ever had. Ordered 4 wedges and a bag of chips here, got 2 wedges and 1 roll and the bag of chips. Was charged $71 for THREE SANDWICHES and a bag of chips. When I called to find the prices of the sandwiches, tax was $10. For three sandwiches?! That's insane. I asked for a receipt when I paid for my order and she didn't give it to me for some unbeknownst reason. When I called to place my order, the lady repeated the order back to me, so I'm confused what went wrong. And when you order a wedge, make sure it's the same price as the roll, because apparently when asked, "they're the same thing" but on the menu, a wedge is $2 more expensive than a roll. Don't even look at the menu prices because I'm assuming they upcharge during lunch time on the weekdays. In a decade of picking up food from Sundance, I don't think they ever got my order wrong? No matter the modifications, sides, etc., they're always consistent. The food is always great, and the employees are always delightful. A recent hire there is especially sweet, and she always remembers me when I come in! Sundance is the epitome of why small local businesses will always be the best, and to say I will miss it is a vast understatement. I ordered from here around 5:45PM on a Wednesday night to pick up 2 chicken tortas, 1 veggie quesadilla, and 1 order of tacos al carbon. I asked for orange sauce on the side and they gave 2 on the house. When I asked for two more, she told me that she has to charge 0.75 cents each. I happily paid them, and went on my way. When I got back, I finished my meal and at the end of my meal, I saw a dead fly floating at the bottom of my sauce. I had to pour it out on a paper towel to confirm and it was indeed a fly. I called Sundance immediately and told them what happened, they put me on hold and said "well we gave you two sauce on the house when we were supposed to charge you and you paid for the other two. And we are closing at 7pm. She then said "Do you want to come here for your 75 cents or get another sauce?" I am 15 minutes away, why would I drive all the way there for 75 cents or another sauce? Why don't you throw out the batch of sauces before you offer to give us another one? Clearly, they don't care enough to even give us an apology. You just lost a very loyal customer (not that you seem to care) and I will be telling all of my coworkers about this incident that also order from here. Very poor customer service. read more

My co workers and I have ordered from this deli religiously. I first started going here about 3 yrs ago. I have tried all their salads; I usally get the Avacado salad with chicken or the cajan chicken salad (I substitute the shrimp) and the portions are huge. I usually get the California wrap or the Tex Mex wrap if I ont get a salad. The fish tacos are awesome too but my Guilty Pleasure are the EMPANADAS!!! They are just delish. The green sauce that comes with it is like liquid hugs. I somtimes drink the last of it after my enpanadas are done. The food is always fresh. The service is great even when ordering on the phone. It gets very busy during the lunch hour. We usually call our orders in a couple of hours before lunch because their are 3 schools in the area and big orders take time. The inside is small. Was excited to try this deli because the reviews were so high! But it was disappointing. I got the italian wedge, which was probably the best thing out of everything I tried. Wedge essentially just means...a long hero. Which I had no idea about. Seems like a Westchester thing because nothing about it looks like a wedge....... The sub was about 2 inches thick, full of meat and cheese. It's hard to mess up, but I'm glad they did this right. The meats are tightly packed and made it easy for me to eat. I like that they use sort of a crusty baguette for the bread, instead of soft heros. My friend got the Godfather, and we've both had better ones. The chicken cutlet wasn't as thick, and overall the filling to bread ratio was too low. The wedge was also COLD, except the cutlet, which was the only thing that was warm. Usually, special subs are warm.... I also tasted the flan and the churro, both of which seemed not so fresh, but I can't blame them because it's a deli. The churro deemed much more palatable, especially since there was a cream filling, which I've never had in a churro before. But it worked out well! The churro was also heated warm, which was awesome on this chilly day. The flan tasted old and congealed, like how flan tastes after sitting uncovered in a fridge for 4 days. Not impressed and didn't really want to finish it. Skip the flan, go for the churro! The prices are very fair because the portion sizes are so huge. I could've easily saved half of my wedge for another meal. The deli itself is tiny, especially when it fills up. You order in the back, and move your way toward the front near the door, where you pay. I would return only to try the Mexican flaired items on the menu next time. read more

If I could rate Sundance Deli lower I would. They have horrible customer service. One instance was a time we were catering for a large event. When I called to confirm my order, the day of our event, I was given a lot of attitude by the man on the phone. We had ordered tacos (with tortillas & all sides) & now were being told that we would only be receiving a tray of meat. No tortillas or sides...that would be an extra charge. We also ordered a tray of quesadillas & when confirming this, I was told a tray was three quesadilla's cut into three piece each. Clearly not enough for the amount of people we were having & such a small amount for the price. After some back & forth, the man abruptly stopped responding to me. Radio silent on his end. I was simply looking to get the order we were told we would get. I decided that it was not worth the aggravation to continue this conversation & cancelled our order. Luckily they did not have my credit card information. We were fortunate to find some place better to fill our last minute order. We have expressed this dissatisfaction with others at our company & many have stopped frequenting Sundance. The ones that still use them for delivery have been met with attitude & anger when they are made to wait or were not given tip. Tip is discretionary. Their delivery person has ,on many times, become nasty with anyone at reception in regards to the fact tip was not included. read more
