They downgraded the coffee, now they use a cheaper coffee that has no taste to it. Its a real shame cause the Paul Delima coffee from Columbia was pretty good but everyone these days are cutting costs in order to make more profits but people do know the difference. Also, the pictures that they advertise and what you actually get are totally different when you get your order of food. Check and see for yourself? This place is a Yorktown icon that is still nostalgically referred to as 'Dantes' by many. Their breakfast sandwiches are legendary and I have tried nearly all the variants of the wacky. My personal favorites are the super wacky and the stacky. They make a killer cheesesteak too. The dudes and ladies behind the counter are super nice and helpful too. Even on a busy morning they hustle I would give this place a 5 star review, but I have noticed they are inconsistent when it comes to the freshness of their bread. Sometimes it's no issue. Sporadically the last couple of times I went the bread was half stale; it was so unappealing that I literally took the contents off the bread and ate them with utensils. If they get fresh bread every morning and have longer hours, this deli could rival Rocky's. read more

Sam is terrific and friendly, and these guys make some mean (and reasonably) priced sandwiches! Sadly, I can only make it to visit these guys in the afternoon, and sometimes they close up even earlier than their stated 4pm closing time. They also shut the grill off around 1:30-2pm (presumably after the lunch rush) so nothing hot/cooked after that. If you can get here earlier than that, I highly recommend Dante's! read more

Got the buffalo chicken wrap. It was sliced bores head buffalo chicken (id expect fresh cooked chicken) and it was supposed to have gorgonzola cheese-which it didn't. And it didn't have any hot sauce on it. I had to go back inside to get it. But disappointed. They only have bores head product in the store-very under stocked. I pop in once and a while for a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee. Bacon, two eggs, and cheese on a roll. I go there only because of convenient parking, not because the food is great. I am driving a truck. They are very stingy with the bacon, but their prices aren't cheap. I went just once for lunch and ordered an Italian Combo wedge. It was okay, but whoever made it obviously didn't know how to make a wedge. The hero roll was cut into two parts, rather than being split down the middle with the ingredients "wedged" in between. Take a bite on one end, everything flies out of the other end. Very messy to eat in a truck. Not a bad little place and the people are nice, but there really aren't too many choices locally. read more

Being a lover of a good egg sandwich I had to see what all the hype was about with the Wacky. Believe the hype as the Wacky was one of the best egg sandwiches I ever had! The roll was soft (the bread is such a key component of a good egg sandwich) and big enough to hold together all the magic going on inside. Everyone talks about the "Wacky" - Bacon, Ham, Eggs, potatoes on a roll. I would say I am more of a "Stacky" guy. This is a modified wacky with sandwich steak on it. I know, I know,... Heart attack, someday, this guy,.. I get it, but it's so darn good I just don't care. Most reviews will focus on the breakfast sandwiches, which is understandable, but I have lunch there too. I have had the Philly cheese steak, which was nearly authentic and very tasty. I have also enjoyed the chef salad, but I suspect the better cuts of lettuce we retained for the sandwiches. It was late in the day when I ordered it , so that could have been it too,.. either way the food is good so on that one occasion they get a pass. Additionally, I wish the muffins were a bit better, but then again, I am a bit of a muffin snob, as is my girlfriend We live close by and enjoy grabbing some quick breakfast on the weekends. One thing we especially enjoy is that the grill is out front where you can watch your food being made. This is a minor, but nice detail. Talking about it has gotten me hungry all of a sudden. This is a solid deli that knows exactly how to serve up some great sandwiches. The place was hopping when my friends and I arrived, but the service was smooth and we had our orders in and sandwiches in hand extremely quickly.
