The facial itself is designed to detoxify the skin, and I was shocked to see the black residue on the cotton--it really felt like all the impurities were being pulled out. She prepped my skin and was able to tell me based off a quick exam which facial was best for me. It was my very first facial so I was a bit nervous but this experience was amazing. I got an European facial here. This is definitely one of the better facial places I've visited. 4.5 stars rounded up. The good: *Great massages! They really worked on your neck and shoulders, which is much appreciated. Unlike other places that leave you during the mask, they stay with you and massage you during that down time. *the face massage actually cleared up my sinus so I could breathe better; I was impressed! *My skin felt moisturized and plump for a long time afterward, the effect seemed to last longer than other facials I've had. *the space is clean and serene; doesn't feel dingy like some other places I've been to. The not-so-good: -it's too bright, which hurt the relaxation factor. They kept the overhead light on throughout the appt, instead of having a side lamp. Also, they didn't provide an eye cover while examining my skin with that super bright light, which seemed like a basic thing to do? I've never had a facial where my eyes were uncovered during this time. -the face massage was good, but they go all over the eyes instead of around it. This meant bits of products got in my eyes and irritated them. Again, most other places don't do this. But I'm sure it's easily remedied just by speaking up haha. Unlike some other reviewers, I did NOT get free samples at the end :( Was a bit sad, but also knew I shouldn't just expect them, since my skin is pretty calm, and a lot of those samples are given when clients have special concerns. My tech suggested some basic extractions and hydration after analyzing my skin. Such a wonderful experience that rejuvenated my skin and state of well being!
