I was in the area and I wanted to grab a sweet treat so here I am. I came in and got the pistachio Silvana. It was buttery, packed with pistachios, and not overly sweet. My friend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon after lunch. Parking was easy and plentiful. We were immediately greeted by the 2 ladies behind the counter. They were so friendly and patient while we decided what to get. They had 2 displays filled with Filipino pastries and containers filled with smaller treats. The decor was so cute. They had a Christmas tree in the corner decorated in a back to school theme. They also have a cute photo op corner matching the name of the bakery. My friend opted for the caramel cupcake and the ensaymada, which came out to $5.95 total. I got the cashew sylvana and the caramel cake slice, $10.10 total. My friend said the caramel cupcake was really good! It even had a yummy filling inside. I also enjoyed the sylvana! It was just the right amount of sweet, crisp, and buttery. My friend took home the ensaymada for later so I can't comment how it tasted, but it was a pretty big piece. I'd say about the size of my hand. I also haven't tasted the caramel cake slice yet. Saving it for later! Before we left, we took home a few sunflower themed stickers. They had a bunch and there were a ton of cute designs to choose from! I made a special request about a month ago to make a caramel cake in the shape of a 7 and 0 for my mom's big 70 birthday party tomorrow. I provided the pans (from Amazon). This is a knock out Filipino bakery!! These are fancy and a nice variety. What I've experienced so far: The caramel cake - fluffy and covered in a flavorful, yet light, caramel. The buko (coconut) pie w/Ube - Amazing. Lovely carved slices of young coconut, and Ube filling. The pie crust is not your usual pie crust. It's more layered, flaky not crumbly. Typical of Filipino or Indonesian pastries. And then my absolute fave, the cashew Silvanas. These are buttery, sweet, salty, crispy, and chewy. They do it just right. NOT TOO SWEET! Best eaten while still chilled. Parking is better away from the storefront. This area is always bustling so the prime spots are usually taken. The people are very nice and well organized. My project manager onsite is engaged to someone whose mom is Filipino so he's always in the lookout for places for me to try when I am in the area. Turns out his future MIL works at this local bakery. Omg. Egg pie? Buko pie? Mango cheesecake? Maybe I'll take some home. I've visited this Filipino bakery a few times. When we are in the area we make sure to stop by whenever we can. The people there are always welcoming and the service is great. We love their Filipino pastries and cakes. My hubby's fave is the Ube Buko pie and mine are the silvanas, the pistachio and cashew are both so good so those are a must to get. Their specialty is their caramel cake. I got a slice a while back and it is very delicious. They make custom cakes so definitely come check them out if you're thinking of giving someone a "not your standard flavored cake". Their shop is small but it's so inviting and so well themed and super clean. There's plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. Will definitely try their other desserts and pastries the next time. I love this bakery. The buko pie is my favorite, and the caramel cake is top notch. Just the right amount of sweetness. They sell whole cakes you can preorder as well as cake slices for about $5. The cupcakes are sold in a 6 pack but I think you can purchase individually too. The ladies here are super nice and friendly, and you can preorder/pay by phone. They even save your info in the system so you won't have to give all your info the next time you order. My only gripe is that since they've opened, the buko pie has shrunk in size quite a bit but the price is still $25. It's pretty pricey now for the size :/ read more

Located in Suisun surrounded by a small group of Asian markets/ shops. Plenty of parking. Growing up, we would drive to the Hercules location for Filipino sweets. Glad this is closer to me. Needed some desserts to take to a party. They have many Filipino pies and flan available. I was greeted right away and the employees there are very friendly. She said "I'll be right with you, Ate". Pronounced ah-teh. A Filipino term of endearment for any female who is older than you. Even if you're not older, it's just a sign of respect. I patiently waited and then told her I wanted the buko and ube pie, and an egg pie. She boxed it right up and I was in and out in just 10-15 minutes. Very quick service. We heard of this place through family who ordered one of their caramel cakes. The store decor is very cute and cheerful. The ladies are nice. There are a few tables set up. We bought a dozen pan de sal and two enseymadas to take home. We dived into the enseymadas and they were delicious and very fresh. We ate the pan de sal the following day. It was good but not as sweet as most we've eaten. However that was a good thing as we are watching our sugar intake. We wished they had more of a variety of sweet delicacies, but hopefully they will add more goodies soon. Good experience, nice place and will definitely return. read more

Growing up, my mom would order pastries from Sunflower Bakery back when they were in Hercules. Now they're in Suisun in a cute little plaza. My family and I still like going here and ordering our celebration cakes. Funny story, my dad was here a few months ago and it was his first time ordering a cake for our parties (usually my mom or I order the cakes), and after he bought it he shared that it cost $200.00. I was like what? What kind of cake did you get? He said the cake we always get...little did we know he ordered a sheet cake for 150+ people! There was like 50 people at this party. Nonetheless, we all finished the cake. A couple weeks later, I returned to get some filipino treats for me. It is no surprise that the customer service was just like before, amazing and familiar. They offer different sizes and prices as of 4/2024: 8 in round- $35 1/4 sheet -$50 1/2 sheet - $90 Full sheet - $170 We decided on the 1/2 sheet ordered and pay over the phone. We wanted to pick it up Saturday morning and the earliest pick up time was 9:30. Came in right an 9:30 and cake was ready. Tried their famous caramel cake. Famous for a reason! The cake is light and the custard in the middle is creamy but not too sweet. Overall I'm so please with how the cake isn't sickeningly sweet like a lot of American cakes. The delicate white cake with the custard is a perfect backdrop to the rich caramel layer on top. The buttercream ribbons on the side were a light touch of decadence. I only got the slice but I know where I'm getting my birthday cake! They have a great selection of other confections. They also have cupcake versions of their caramel cake. I also grabbed the pistachio Sansrival. I could tell it was well prepared with lots of pistachio and a great crunch, but I'm not a big fan of meringue cookies - too sweet. My husband really likes meringue cookies and loved this dessert. The coffee taste is light the butter cream is creamy and the crunch is GOOD! The cake is good as well it's not dense and it's airy/ fluffy and smooth. I ordered a custom coffee crunch cake from them and they were able to meet the demand (sorry I had no pictures) price point is reasonable and you only need 2 days in advance for ordering a cake. 10/10 highly recommend. We have always come here for the Sansrival ever since the store opened in Suisun, even in Vallejo before they closed permanently. The quality and taste was like no other sansrival my family has tried anywhere else. Birthdays and celebrations, we make sure we get the Sansrival from Sunflower Bakery. Customer service is always cheerful and warm. However, we didn't get to order over the recent holidays until today and I am suprised with what we took home. I noticed the difference upon walking out the store because the box felt lighter. I didn't expect that upon opening the box when we got home, the cake has gotten thinner, like it missed layers of thickness as it used to be. (see photos) It's almost as thick as a regular pie or their individual silvanas. It does not justify the $45 price for a supposed full sized sansrival cake. The one that was on display at the counter looked like how it ahould be but the cake served to us came from the back. We couldn't see the difference until we opened the box at home. Prices all over has been hiking up, maybe so are the ingredients. But this change for good tasting sansrival cake is really disappointing and we're hoping this was just a bad batch served. Otherwise, more people will get dissapointed as well. read more

This was our first time trying the bakery. We got polvoron, buko pie with ube, 2 cream puffs, a caramel cupcake, a slice of the caramel cake, custard cake, and the babingka. We enjoyed it all. The buko pie had big chunks of coconut. None of that string cut type you usually find in most desserts. The custard cake is leche flan on top of a nice sponge cake. We recently went back to get another buko pie, more polvoron, the geltain cake, freshly baked pandasal, and the mango cheesecake. I was more surprised how much I enjoyed the geltain cake. The mango cheesecake was very light and more like a mousse. It was still a good dessert and not overly sweet. Definitely recommend getting the fresh baked pandasal whenever possible. Definitely coming back in the near future. read more
