My initial reaction when seeing the cake was excitement because it was exactly what I had asked for. The presentation of the cake was astounding. She absolutely nailed it. The filling was a strawberry cream cheese buttercream which was a perfect amount of sweet. It was very delicious. The only reason I give it a four star rating is because of the cake sponge itself. It was a red velvet cake and it was a little on the dry side. The buttercream wasn't sticking to it so the cake fell apart when we cut into it. It doesn't bother me that it fell apart as its a cake; we will eat it anyway. It's just how dry the cake turned out. Nonetheless, my family ate it and there were no issues. However, the milk did not appear to be evenly absorbed across my portion of cake, as some sections remained without any milk. The cake also seemed to be the only thing ube flavored, so overall the ube flavor was lacking. The cake in general was yummy, but was not my favorite as an ube tres leches. Two weeks before the party, I called Fantasty Cakes to ask if they were available to bake a princess themed birthday cake for our little one. Thankfully, they were available and agreed to make the cake for us. Later on that same day, we stopped by to see and approve the model they had for the detailing of the cake. We agreed to bring fresh flowers in for the top of the cake and a gold crown cake topper we purchased. We dropped both items off the evening before our event. The princess birthday cake turned out nearly exactly how we wanted it. The style was elegant and they included a nice, sutle glittery sheen to the cake as well. The cake was moist, not too sweet (just how I like it), and was quite tasty. For the filling, we requested strawberries. Unfortunately, they included very little strawberries for the cake's filling. They did include a ton of fresh whipped cream more so than strawberries, which was disappointing for the amount of money we spent on the cake. Initially the customer service we experienced was pretty good. The staff seemed helpful and knowledgeable, even when we spoke on the phone. On the pick-up day, however, our multi-tiered cake was given to us in a donut box and not an actual cake box. That being said, the donut box was not closed around the cake, exposing it to the elements. My husband asked if they could place the cake in an actual cake box, but the worker said the donut box was all they had and handed it over to him. I'm very grateful for Fantasy Cakes being available to make my daughter's birthday cake on such a short notice.

I was sold silver butterflies by another staff member that did not appear on my cake and black ribbon when I told them dusty blue was part of the colors or white and silver. But my entire party changed to butterfly place card holders and butterflies on our program, but none on the cake that we tried to match. So all said and done just to be over it I accepted the $40 refund which was down graded from our talk over the phone. The owner said his gas and all... my refund doesn't really make up for my grief and I do not live in this area... so yeah it's my gas today. And that's the reason for the review too. All the extra comments negates the sorry (not sorry). Literally the leftovers not cut and just tossed after. Like I said it was all about the look for the pics. But it was lacking...to say the least.

The detail is spectacular. However there is more to each creation than just looking good on the outside. For the past 1-2 years Chef Jenna has been busy refining and perfecting the scratch ingredients, combonations and flavor profiles. Yes the majority (75-85 percent ) of her creations are made from scratch. For cakes and cup cakes, the end product has evolved into something very special. They are sweet but not overpowering. The recepies have something unique with flavor explosions at the tip of your tongue and then at the back. However it leaves you wanting another. You dont get that "its so sweet and rich" feeling that is present with other box mixes. The crem-de-la-crem is her frosting., It's light, airy, smooth and like the cake doesnt leave you with that bloted rich feeling you get with others. Additionally Chef has been busy perfecting her cookie recepies. The cookies are firm, thick (instead of flat that you get with store batter or not using the ingredients. All are firm toward the out side but are slightlly sofer toward the middle. As with her cake and frostine batters, Chef has been perfecting her recepies to get to the ultimte selection of fresh ingredients utilizing old school and new techniques to create deserts that are unlike any other. The ultimate goal is to have deserts that you can eat and experience a multi layered eating experience, having it be sweet but not filling. But when experience these creations , you know you want and can have another portion without feeling full that is common from other similar products.
