I was out for a girls day with my mom and sister and we wanted breakfast. Most think Foley only has Cracker Barrel and First Watch, and this hidden gem is WAY better. 10/10 will definitely be back! We walked into the rear entrance and were confused at first because it leads into the kitchen but Joe welcomed us in, very sweet, friendly guy. The ambiance is early 2000's vibes, whoever was in charge of the music was killing it! Our server was very attentive, overall very happy staff. The food was amazing, it is very hard to find a breakfast spot that can actually perfect an over medium egg, and they did! That Belly Rubber sandwich is breakfast perfection, I was doing a happy food dance every bite. The breakfast potatoes were nice and crispy, perfect amount of salt and best of all, not greasy. The french toast bites are made with biscuits and that cream cheese drizzle tied it all together. They also had some REAL maple syrup, which I feel is rare at most breakfast restaurants. MOstly good stuff. The mushroom swiss melt (with grilled onion) was really good. The greens were even better. Now you dip the mushroom swiss melt in the greens juice and it is incredible. The grits are also very good. The service was bit slow but it seems like they were really trying to improve. It was bit pricey, breakfast for 2 and a baby was in the $50 range after tip. No booze either. Overall I don't know that I would drive an hour, but if I'm in the area I would stop for sure. read more

A classic diner. I felt at home. Hamburger Steak with all the fixings is sumptuous. The BEST I have ever had. No need for salt or pepper...it is perfection. Mashed potatoes are the cradle of love the steak, okra and fried mushrooms need. Nothing fancy here, just good food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Tucked just about underneath the footbridge crossing the street. This is little dinner is a fun spot to grab whatever breakfast staples you're craving. This includes Bloody Mary's or Mimosas. I ordered the breakfast burrito with and upcharged side of hash browns. Both were pretty good. My breakfast companions ordered omelets and pancakes all of which looked good as well. This is a locally owned and operated place with an appropriate small town diner vibe. It's especially pleasant since the staff is warm and welcoming with smiles and their southern charm and hospitality. It's not fine dinng but it's good food, prepared well and it's priced moderately for the area in general. They're open Mon-Sat 6am-2pm with breakfast and lunch. I've only had breakfast here but will give them a try soon for their liver & onions or perhaps one of their burgers. But for breakfast they've got a perfect selection for me with the eggs, omelettes, sandwiches, grits, biscuits, pancakes and all the meats that also include a German sausage. Those sausage are indeed my favorite with just the right amount of spices. Bottle line: There's street parking and adequate seating with honest food at reasonable prices and a friendly staff. First, let me start by saying we are locals and always support local businesses over national chains. The long standing Foley Cafe was bought out by out of towners who have given the old place a much needed refresh. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity of the food have both decreased tremendously and their initial friendly interaction with customers has totally stopped. Customers aren't even acknowledged upon arrival. They seem to have forgotten who they serve here. We have tried to support them since the takeover. Each visit only gets worse. Today, a brand new waitress (weekly turnover of wait staff) sealed the deal for us. We will NOT return. We arrived around 11 am this morning. No one waiting so we sat at an empty table, as we always do. It had not been cleaned, but in the past, they just bring us the menu, clean the table, and move on. It's Saturday-not in a rush to eat or we would have gone for "fast food". After 10 minutes, we grabbed a menu from the counter so ordering would be quicker. About 10 minutes later, the new waitress very rudely approached the table and told us to move to the hall and wait to be seated. We just looked at her in disbelief, and she said "You need to get up and stand in the hall until we can get this table clean. Someone will seat you." No please, so excuse me, just a very bitchy attitude and extremely dirty look. We left. We will not be back. We will spread the word. Good luck with the tourist business. This restaurant is a gem in the heart of Foley. The food is delicious with options from the burgers to omelets. The service was amazing from start to finish each time that I have visited. Very friendly place with great food fast. It has been a local establishment with really cool photos of famous people from the area - like Kenny Stabler and local sports teams who has good years. The building has been here since 1907 and the Foley Coffee Shop has been here since 1964!! They are open from 6AM - 2PM Monday - Saturday. It is a diner, that is what you should expect. The place is clean and they really have s great staff. My son had the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit (only sandwiches were on the menu, and they said making it on a biscuit would not be a problem.). I had two eggs scrambled with toast, grits, German sausage and crispy bacon. The grits were seasoned well (people are cooking scared if the grits are seasoned well!) and the bacon was actually crispy. Another things many cooks for some reason cannot get right - probably for fear of burning the bacon. If you are a tourist coming through, this place will not be nearly as slammed as the places closer to the beach!! read more
