Solid place for brunch or lunch! They are walk in only and they have a large outdoor dining area on the sidewalk which is covered with umbrellas so it's not too hot. I got the chicken club and my friend got the crispy chicken sandwich. The club sandwich was huge and both meals came with a basket of fries! They had an awesome variety of both brunch and lunch options, however seating inside is limited so do your best to get a reservation. We ended up sitting on the patio and there were not any heaters in February. I ordered the avocado toast which was fantastic, the rest of the table got the pancakes, the club and a few other entrees and we were all happy with our meals. I would certainly recommend checking it out for the food. Our server's disposition was less that sunny and not very prompt, but who knows, maybe she was having a bad day. I visited this spot for a work lunch, and overall, it was a decent experience. The restaurant was busy but not full, and I was seated right away, which was appreciated. I also tried their drip coffee, which came with free refills. However, the coffee wasn't great--drinkable, but not worth getting a refill. If I ever go again, I might try an Americano instead to see if it's better. The ambiance was posh w/ vegan options, which isn't exactly my vibe--but I won't hold that against them. It's clear they've put effort into creating a trendy and inviting atmosphere. While I didn't order it, I will say that the French toast and pancakes being served to nearby tables looked amazing. I'll admit I was a little jealous of the people who ordered them, so those might be worth trying on a future visit. With tax and tip, the total came to $35. Sunflower Gramercy offers very tasty, very aesthetic brunch and lunch dishes. If any or all of this is what you're looking for in a weekend meal, you should definitely check this place out. I've been here a couple of times. The first time was in the late spring, and we had a short wait to be seated inside. The second time was this past January on a chilly, rainy day. We were seated immediately in the enclosed outdoor dining space, which was fine, if a little loud. Our server was great and really personable. Most of our table ordered the break'bowl (breakfast potato, salsa verde, avocado, garlic, spinach, mixed cheddar, bacon, poached eggs), which was both gorgeous to look at and tasted amazing. The whole dish was filling and packed with savory flavor, from the well-seasoned, garlicky potatoes to the savory bacon bites to the fresh, peppery salsa verde that gave everything a medium-spice kick. Everything was topped with some shredded cheese and soft poached eggs. We also ordered a mimosa carafe, which was- a) presented in a very cute carafe/plastic shopping bag combo with ice in the bag to keep it chilled, b) extremely difficult to pour as the presentation was totally impractical, and c) delicious. Rather than just orange juice, the version here is made with Amita Motion, a Greek juice made with a bunch of different fruits. Finally, I enjoyed my latte, which was quite sizable and clearly made with quality coffee. I'd say the one drawback is that it is very cramped inside, with zero space to stand while you're asking for a table or whatever.
