Stopped in today for lunch and was disappointed. The wait was long (typical) but being served a MOLDY bagel is unacceptable. We unfortunately noticed the mold after we took a bite and were disgusted by the amount of mold. The worst part: the staff brushed it off and just asked if we wanted a new one...no thanks! Besides that horrible experience, the rest of the food was decent, but i'm not sure how you can mess up a plain bagel that badly and i'm sure that I will not be returning. The toast was oddly the best thing - wheat with butter. I tried a bite of my friend's Dubai pancake, and this wasn't bad although it was much too sweet for me. They must do an amazing job prepping for service in the back of house because I think we only waited 5 or 10 minutes for our food after we ordered. My meal was cooked perfectly. Fries were seasoned well. The fish for the tacos was cooked beautifully. My only complaint is that the tacos needed a little kick to them, but that's a personal preference. They truly tasted delicious and would recommend them to anyone. It's a very small restaurant, waitstaff was great. Don't recommend for large parties but it's really easy to grab a table for two. We came about 1:15pm on a Saturday and were seated by 2:00pm. It's a small place so wouldn't recommend for a group larger than 4 people to get in quicker. The staff is good about getting people in and out. The breakfast burrito was yummy but I also prefer beans in mine. Homes fries were delish as well! High 3.5 Solid spot for food with good pricing. It's a really good place is you want breakfast at night, granted we didn't get any breakfast items. We got the onion ring as the appetizer but it was fried for a bit too long and the critique is that it was not served with any dipping sauce. My brother got the turkey club and it was under seasoned but the fries was amazing good and crispy! My chicken sandwich was really delicious with all the added item inside, although it made it hard to eat because it was so thick. The interior was nicely decorate with Christmas decorations; however, we were seated by the window and it was starting to get a little chilly the longer we sat there. I really enjoyed Gramercy Kitchen. It was our last stop on our last day in the city. It should have been our first. Prices were reasonable compared to everything else that we had that weekend. The service was great. Our server was very nice and very attentive. I ordered a Mexican omelette. My wife ordered a crab cake benedict. Our son had a stack of pancakes. I enjoyed my food. I asked if they had chorizo for the omelette but was told No. The server recommended having the sausage. It paired well. My only suggestion would be to consider seeking a food distributor that can provide Chorizo. Have the cooking staff play around with the recipe and you have a new dish that can be a little more authentic. Other than that, I wish we had found this place sooner. They had a nice menu with plenty of options. The place itself was very welcoming, full of nice decor and and positive quotes. We'd been here before and liked it and came again for lunch when our first idea further down the street turned out to have a C health rating but didn't advertise it (thank you Yelp!). We got seated immediately in a nice, bright area, and the place was humming with customers. I ordered a veggie panini that wasn't too big-- they need more veggie options--I think this was the only one aside from breakfast items like bagels and pancakes. My partner got fish tacos and the chicken soup side. All served in a reasonable amount of time. I was impressed most with the service: In a city where there's still understaffing in a lot of places, Gramercy Kitchen almost felt like they had too many people working for them, which is what it takes, I guess. Like some have mentioned, it's pricier but all inclusive with a drink and a side plus you're not left to fend for yourself like in too many spots. Also bring cash otherwise you will end up paying almost 4 percent more on top. read more

I'm sorry I have to write this, but I'm still pretty outraged by GK's billing policy. Living in the neighborhood, this place has been terrific for a quick meal and delivery services, especially during the pandemic. The food's been quite good. And it still is. But after a lunch last there last week, I could not believe how the prices have increased! And even more so, what they are charging for. I ordered a BLT with waffle fries on the side and I was charged a whopping $18.45 for it. Take a look at the receipt and you'll see some kind of mystery charge cutely coined as, "Make It Deluxe" priced at $5.25. Huh??? There was not even a pickle slice, tomato or lettuce leaf on that plate to constitute deluxe status. It was merely a little sandwich and my fries. When I asked 2 different staff folks about this charge - in addition to the charge for the fries - they couldn't explain what it was for, nor did they even offer to take it off my bill. Despite their expansion and additional seating (thank you, Covid tent) they have the nerve to rip people off like this. I think I may be done with this place. read more

This is a good place to go during lunch when work is not too busy. While the wait staff is friendly and accommodating, it took them 10-15 minutes each to take my order and get the check. Not having been back here in a while, it's cool that the wait staff remembered my usual by heart! Chicken soulvaki wrap is good but the chicken could use some more seasoning. The salad is typical but good as well. I like how raw sugar is offered as an alternative to the artificial sweeteners. As I said, a good place for lunch when you're not crunched for time! read more

The yogurt parfait was one of the best we've had. The fruit was really fresh and it had a nice drizzle of honey. The eggs Benedict weren't the best I've had but they were good enough. We started coming here after the old Gramercy Diner closed & then they re-imaged it into 'Gramercy Kitchen', of course, charging more for everything because - well, just because... The first time my daughter and I went back to check it out soon after the re-imaging and 'upgrade' to a more modern look, we were one of only a few people in the place, because of how new it was. The service was bad. We sat and sat, waiting to be greeted by the waitress, while she chatted away with the manager. Not a good start. O.k., so the food was decent, and the prices had gone up, of course, which was to be expected, but all-around, after the initial "I don't see that I have a new table" snafu by our waitress, generally, the new make-over was nice to be in, and the food decent. Then we started getting annoyed... After a while (after weathering the 'newness' of the place), coming back repeated times because we generally liked it, going for Sunday Brunch began to be a pain. Apparently, the NYU crowd had heard about this now 'great, new, 'upscale' diner in the neighborhood, and started coming. In droves (thanks Instagram). O.k... Great for the diner, but we as long-time customers - from when it was just a nice, old-fashioned diner, to coming when it was just starting out after the 'change' - and not having many customers - were now having to wait way too long - just to get some pancakes and eggs. Way. Too. Long. And no 'Hey... how are you doing..?' from the host. Like we'd never been there before. Really...? That, plus every time we'd go for Sunday Brunch. It just got to be too much. Over to Orion or Joe Jrs. or Waverly Diner. Yes, Waverly Diner. A 25 minute walk. But worth it. Came for a weekday breakfast and overall liked my experience. There are plenty of tables so I sat in the back to have some privacy while I worked. The problem is it is winter and the place gets cold bc they have a lot of those full length windows that slide open in the summer. Any time a restaurant has that there is a little draft that is tough. Not unbearable but definitely cold especially if you are sitting next to the window. As for the food I went healthy this time and got the granola with yogurt and fruit. I am always astounded how much restaurants charge for a simple dish like this but people pay it! It was good but I could probably make my own for a quarter of the price. They also have good wifi so you can get work done pretty quickly. read more

Brunch here was popppppin. They are blasting 2010s EDM anthems and the mimosa towers are flowing. Although we were too hungover to partake, we'll have to come back!
