After my husband, who was a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doctor, passed away, I had a difficult time finding someone I could trust to help with my body pain. The first time I came to China Spa, Sabrina was not working. Her colleague, Amy, kindly recommended that I come back the next day to see Sabrina. At that time, I had been suffering from pain in my shoulders, lower back, and knees for over a month, so I decided to try China Spa because it is close to my home. During my first treatment with Sabrina, it was a little painful because she was working on the tight and sore areas. However, after the session, my whole body felt so much lighter and more relaxed. After just three treatments, my shoulder, back, and knee pain completely disappeared. Sabrina is highly skilled, caring, and truly knows how to treat the root of the problem instead of just giving a regular massage. She has helped me tremendously, and I am so grateful to have found her. It's no surprise that China Spa was recognized as one of the Top 3 Massage Therapists in Richardson for 2026. I had already driven across town, wasting both time and fuel when I was notified. She indicated that she needed to reschedule for the following day. Even though I had plans the next day, and it was extremely inconvenient to do so, I accommodated her request and revised my calendar to fit in the service. As an "extra for my inconvenience," Gwen threw in a less than impressive foot soak. Initially, the massage started off poor, but with some instruction from me, ended up being a nice massage. I even ended the massage by tipping her over 25% of the full value of the service, not because I was that pleased, but because that is my personal habit. The peak of the problem occurred after I scheduled a service for my Senior Citizen relative. Unfortunately, my relative missed the scheduled appointment. Certainly, the relative is at fault for missing and not calling Gwen, but the core issue came in with Gwen's extreme rudeness at the request to reschedule. I profusely apologized that my relative missed the appointment asked Gwen if she would reschedule. We could not find a mutually acceptable time before the end of the LivingSocial promotional voucher period (which was still 3 weeks away). She indicated that she would have to charge the full price of the service vs the promotional price. I asked if she would consider making an exception and hold the price of the service to the promotional voucher. She rudely refused and began to chatise me via text message about missing the appointment (as as reminder, the appointment was not for me). I reminded her that I had been more than pleasant, patient, and accommodating to her when she suddently cancelled my previous appointment, and asked if she would please work with me to find a mutual solution. She continued to send insulting texts and indicated that I had accepted the meager foot scrub as my recompense. I called her and she would not pick up the phone. I texted back and asked if she would answer the phone so that we could discuss live. She shot back that she was busy and couldn't talk. This time was during the missed appointment window, so there was no other client there. At this point, it became clear to me that she was not willing to extend the same courtesy and flexibility that I had extended her when she cancelled and to top it off, her very poor attitude and nasty commentary was appalling. I ended the dialogue by requesting a refund. She indicated that I would have to go through LivingSocial to request it and I indicated that I would. However, she hurriedly cancelled the voucher (as though it had been used), leaving LivingSocial with limited options. I found her actions of pretending to direct me to LS for resolution, yet rushing to quickly and secretly void the voucher before I could contact LivingSocial to be dishonest, boarding on unethical. Fortunately, my credit card company is now disputing this charge on my behalf. My experience with Gwen at Peaceful Escape is that she is rude, inflexible, unprofessional, and dishonest. I fully and without reservation recommend that all consumers considering Gwen's service reconsider and spend your money and your time at merchants who assign the same value to your resources as you do.

Being a fellow therapist, I am EXTREMELY picky and internally harsh on who's working on me since I can't seem to find many therapists who fit my standards. Mia is by far one of the most talented therapists I have ever been to, and I get a massage 1-2x/mo to keep my stressful life balanced and manageable. She is extremely intuitive, and has the knowledge and expertise to back up her skills. Mia does cupping therapy as well, and many therapists are always using the wrong technique and hurting me..... but Mia was taught the proper way to apply and use the cups for both relaxation and pain relief. Regardless of whatever that salty one star review that's posted to the top, Mia is a great communicator and prioritizes her clients health & wellbeing, and I always book my appointment months in advanced online to secure my spot so I don't end up disappointed waiting until the last minute. Her room is very tranquil and welcoming and made for therapeutic touch and a wonderful bodywork experience. I've been to several places where the massage bed is cold and I hate that. This bed had a temperature control so it was warm and cozy. Just perfect. Mia was absolutely awesome and focused on the right spots without me even having to tell her. I went in thinking my neck and shoulders were tight but my legs were the worst. She worked her magic on my legs and they've never felt better. She applied the right amount of pressure and did everything right. She has healing hands and I will be coming back.

I have some TMJ issues and Grace really focused on this area as she's medically trained to treat things like this. She was really aggressive in working out my muscles, which at times make me groan in pain. BUT, I literally walked out of there feeling like a different person. I didn't have any type of TMJ pain for a while and I slept better for the next several nights. If you can stand a rougher massage, do yourself a favor and book!
