The quality of the exam and the selection of the frames are the best I have found in the MKE area. My only reservation to recommend Be Spectacled is how difficult they make it to select lenses once you have picked out some frames. An associate literally read aloud my options off their computer monitor, without clarifying the costs or features. When I selected the basic lenses, they said I didn't want those (then why even offer them?). I never really understood what I was getting or paying. I didn't even see an itemized receipt until I picked up my glasses ($275 for lenses, oof). It all felt rushed, opaque and like I was getting up-sold at a car dealership. If they would be more clear and transparent about lense options and costs (maybe put it all on a flyer you can hand to the customer), this place would be an easy five-star review.

I'm happy to say that changed recently. I made my appointment, had my eyes checked, and got my prescription. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from and are super helpful in finding your pair. "What style are you thinking of trying?" she asked "Bold frames!" I exclaimed with confidence apropos of nothing. And, bold frames I got. And, now, I can see the world. Shining. Shimmering. Splendid. Get to it!

I think their frame prices are fair and their selection is great. When I inquired about prescription sun glasses, they said that they are expensive so I should consider Maui Jim sunglasses with readers instead, to save a few bucks. (I didn't even know they existed). I can stop by the office when they are open and drop off my glasses (even if they are sometimes in pieces), and they are fixed (or put back together) in a jiffy. This is a great, local neighborhood business and I will continue to be a loyal patient!

I can read my speedometer again, my television seems like it's high resolution now and it's comfortable to read once more. I owe a lot of that to my eye exam (completed elsewhere) but a tip o' the hat to the Stanton Optical lab for a great job on my lenses. The day I selected new frames, the store was mildly crowded. My rep was taking care of two or three customers at one time and I'm not entirely sure I received the attention I needed in picking frames. Now that I've had them for several days, I'm not sure they are the correct size and worse, they were not properly fitted. I was told it would take about two weeks to receive my new eyewear, in fact, it was much faster than that, about 10 days. Real days, not business days, and I was very pleased with that part of the service. The day I picked up my new eyewear, I was well attended to, and the tech made several adjustments to make the frames fit better. (I need to go back and have another go at adjustments.) The tech indicated that perhaps the frames were, in fact, a bit on the small side, and I agree. That said, I'm getting used to them and my vision is so much clearer that, overall, I'm happy. Would I use Stanton Optical again? Yes, and knowing what I know now, I would be much more of a curmudgeon when picking out frames, and insist on a better fit. Would I recommend them? Yes, with some reservation. Forget the marketing deals in the advertising if you need something other than single vision lenses and boring frames. Multiple vision lenses will be more expensive, but if you already wear those, higher prices are no surprise to you. One more thing, this is not a great location. The building is on a small lot with limited parking. On top of it all, the building is shared with a Starbucks, putting even more strain on the limited parking lot.

I've never had glasses before and was not given any info as to what the exam results showed. There was no discussion of social or medical history. Just a virtual exam and "see ya later" - Worth mentioning, the computer in the exam room I was in was left open so I could see the other patient's information Absolute waste of a visit. I have an unusual prescription but they had no problem taking time with me to get it right. They also have great kids glasses, my kids don't need glasses but if they did I would get them here! I also ride a Harley and have a great pair of sunglasses for the bike from them. I like the ones that wrap around your face. I have had problems with blurriness in my side vision when getting the wrapped ones from other places, but my new ones have awesome clarity. I would recommend everyone to at least visit them!

While it is a lovely store with a wide selection of stylish frames, the people who work there couldn't be nicer and down-to-earth. I was surprised that pricing of the frames are similar to many chain stores. So many styles, but luckily I had a great navigator to help find the perfect frame for me! I'm lucky my insurance covered almost half the cost of my new glasses, so cost was about what I expected. Thank you to Dr. Friehe and team for the wonderful customer service!
