The Malfaldine Alstice was very mediocre. The malfaldine noodles were interesting (never had before), but their take on a vodka sauce legit tasted like school pasta sauce. The lobster was more of a suggestion than a standout, with a couple larger nuggets and the rest were tiny morsels scattered throughout. As our entrees were fairly carb heavy, we did get a couple sides to lighten the load. Mushrooms were excellent and so flavorful. Asparagus was good, but the lemon butter sauce was a little too rich for me, especially when paired with such an oily pasta dish. Focaccia was god level good. For dessert we couldn't resist the Rocher. I forgot to tell them to put the cherry sauce on the side as I detest amaretto. I did my best to pick around the sauce but it was everywhere. The menu is hella overpriced. They do participate in Miami Spice for $65 for dinner, but the filet mignon option had a $9 supplement. You really needed a side with it so you're not craving a slice of pizza after dinner, because there wasn't much else on the plate. And that means ponying up $17 for a plate of mash, bringing that Miami Spice value from $65 to $91 pre tax/tip. Then on top of that they're charging what looks like a 9.4% tax, plus the standard 20% service charge which is "paid to eligible employees in lieu of gratuities and the balance retained by Casadonna to offset operational costs." Wtf does that mean? How much goes to employees? Dinner came in around $150 a head +/- if getting enough food to be satiated, and one measly cocktail. I dropped $350 in Kyoto for an omakase dinner with sake courses and didn't break a sweat. So it's not the cost of the place. I absolutely don't mind paying a pretty penny for a stellar culinary experience, but this, at least for me, was not it. If someone else is paying though, by all means, saluti!

No explanation of what was included, no specials, nothing. Charging $100 per person just to attend a "party" with no clear details feels odd and poorly communicated.
