It is a large clean laundromat with modern machines, on-site staff, a wide variety of laundry supplies for sale, and the option to drop off laundry for them to wash . A couple large TVs tuned to sports, plenty of benches to sit on. There are vending machines with soda and junk food. The place has its own parking lot and a change machine. So tonight I went to this laundromat in Suffern. I have been frequenting this laundromat on an 'as needed basis' and when the laundromat I usually went to in Mahwah closed down; my only choice was Sunlight Laundromat One. Honestly, I never cared for the operation as it was quite abrasive. The staff would make you move so they could sweep, catch change from the machines, vaccuum, etc. You were at the whims of the workers. If one of them wanted to sweep where you were meditative -ly folding clothes; you placated. It had always irritated me that they did this. Tonight while I was in the middle of taking my clothes out of the dryer I made my stand. I told the man I was not going to move after he motioned my removal from the space I occupied. I said, 'no. I am folding my laundry. I will not move. You Can sweep here once I am done.' He literally pushed the dryer door against me and pointed his key in my face and told me to get out. I stood my ground and explained how this was not very good customer service and he proceeded to threaten me; in my face; physical style. I maintained composure and said I was going to call the cops. He should get out of my face. He kept talking and cursing at me. I have my 9 year old son there and I am trembling in fear. I said I was going to call the cops while he told me he didn't need my business, etc. Nonetheless, don't ever go there. The customer service is very poor. The owners don't care about the customers that keep the business thriving. Not to mention, the guy who owns/manages it is a complete jerk. read more

I took in 15 pounds of white clothes into this laundromat at about 8:30 this morning and asked to have them wash and fold the clothes, since our washer just died and I can get a new machine for not much more than the repair estimate. The man there said I could have it later today. I picked up the clothes at about 3:30, after paying $16.50 for them doing the work. We ran other errands and got home around 4:30. We opened the plastic bag the clothes were in and found that almost every garment had brown spots all over them. I called the laundromat and of course got their voice mail. I asked that they call me re the damage to our clothes and of course, they never called back. It looks like perhaps a chocolate cookie or something similar got in the wash, since only some of the stains came out, but it took 1 1/2 hours to do so. The clothes had spots and blotches spread on them and I feel they should return my money, since they had to fold the clothes to put them into a plastic bag and there is no way, unless a blond person folded the clothes, that they didn't see the stains. My wife's white shorts were ruined, as the stains will not come out. I doubt they will ever call me, since they didn't have the brains to redo the clothes, nor the decency to tell me about the problem. I suggest that unless stains and ruined clothes don't bother you, that you find a reputable place to wash your clothes. Going here is a crap shoot I will NEVER do again and I suggest you think twice before going back there. read more

Large facility, machines in working order. Store for what you need inside- pricey- Ace next door. Ample seating, baskets on wheels for use, countertops etc and a bathroom- would fail inspection, but it's there! Parking could be an issue if it's busy. Machines clean inside, B+ for the smell of the soap dispensers - they need a good cleaning Machines do not spin clothing enough - they are too wet, and there's no settings to increase spin time/max extract. Difficult with Blakey's comforters because they come out so wet. Dryers: need to use multiple cycles to dry wet - poorly extracted clothing. I asked for soap -no conversation didn't answer my questions, products with labels not in English - No signs for prices how much soap etc. I don't do the laundromat regularly- signs help. Diagnosis- Too muvhbwork to get this job done. Wet clothing increases time and money spent in the facility, I'm going back to Ramsey. read more

First off I've been a resident for 40 + years and have used this laundry mat through the years on and off as needed so this review is also about how it used to be. Years ago the place was spotless! The old owners and folks that ran it kept every inch clean and spotless. They were also always friendly and helpful. Now for my most recent trip. The place was filthy not to mention run down and old looking. Not only were tops of the machines covered with dust and spilled detergent but the floor was dirty with cracked and broken tiles. If you drop something out of the washer while unloading you better rewash it. Second major difference now from then is the equipment . I was using the larger dryers. After 30 minutes in one my clothes were not even close to dry. I pointed it out to the man working who came over put a quarter in , put his ear to the door ( I kid you not )and said " it working, no problem with machine " and started to walk away . I tried to explain it was not getting hot to which he disagreed with. I was not asking for my money back or making a fuss, simply letting him know it had a problem. He begrudgingly gave me a couple quarters back ( which I appreciate since this trip cost me almost $15! ) but he acted like I was trying to scam him and was defensive. By his reaction I'm guessing this has happened before. Not great customer service . I also noticed signs posted that said you can not use the dryers unless you washed the clothes there. I find this strange. Not like the dryers are free! Some folks might only have a washer, or it's broken at home. Why would a business owner refuse paying customers?? Along with those signs there are biblical quotes on all the walls. Personally I have no issue with it as its a privately owned and thats their right but some might take issue with them. My last complaint is while I was still doing my wash ( after the dryer issue)I had one of those baskets on wheels 6 inches from me obviously still using it, the same man walked over and took it away from me. Not like he needed it as they had tons up front! Again this is more of after how it used to be and kept vs the condition now. It's sad to see a local community business that's been around forever decay. Needless to say I won't return. read more

Place is nice and big but don't try to just dry anything there. My washing machine and dryer died from a flooded basement and I brought my one wet load (and other dry clothes) to wash and dry them. When I walked in with my one TINY load of wet clothes, the asian owner came charging toward me, "NO WASHEE, NO DRY!!" (And I am not being racist here -- this is exactly what she said). When I tried to explain that I had other (dry) clothes to wash & dry, she did not understand and just kept yelling at me that I COULD NOT just dry clothes here. I am not that familiar with the area so didn't want to go in search of another laundry or I would have just left the crazy woman. If the place was crowded with other customers, maybe I would understand this policy (not really) but it was mostly empty. So, I sucked it up and calmly tried to tell her I would just re-wash my already washed clothes. Finally, she seemed to understand and I washed and dried my clothes in peace. I will not be going back (well, getting new washer/dryer tomorrow anyway). read more
