Long time staple in the convoy area, Happy Buddha has been there forever. Here's the basic info you need to know... They offer Reflexology and regular massages. Reflexology massages are not your normal spa treatment. There is a large community room with reflexology chairs. They don't have flat treatment tables, you don't take off any clothing, and there are no women giving any kind of massage, only men. Regular massages are dung in the back. The reflexology massage starts off with soaking your feet in a warm water bath. Treatment starts at your head and neck working towards your shoulders. They work on your upper back and both your arms. Finishing off with your legs and feet. Very quiet and relaxing you can't beat 60-90 minutes for $35-$50! A minimum 60 minute massage is a must, 90 minutes is even better! Calling to schedule an appointment is the best to make sure it fits within your schedule. Walk ins are available if they don't have any appointments. If you see a guy sitting outside, he's available for a walk in treatment! Don't let a male giving you a massage bother you from giving this place a try. I have received some of the best massages from males... why? They are stronger and can apply more specific and overall pressure! A few other things to note... cash is preferred, but credit cards are accepted. Very limited English is spoken and understood. The parking lot is usually crazy packed. Bring cash for tipping. Nothing "Happy" About This Experience…read more This was my second time coming to Happy Buddha. My first visit was an okay experience overall. The only odd thing I remember was a staff member snoring while it was slow, but it wasn't enough to keep me from giving this place another chance. After what happened today, I will not be returning. We came in on September 6 for a 2:00 p.m. appointment for two people for the 60-minute reflexology service. What was supposed to be relaxing ended with me feeling angry, embarrassed, humiliated, and completely disrespected because of my therapist, Tom. At the end of our services, we had tips prepared for both therapists. We simply didn't know which therapist was which and were trying to figure out who the tips belonged to. Instead of giving us a moment, Tom aggressively snatched the money, became visibly upset, and started speaking angrily in another language. I genuinely could not believe his reaction. Why act that way toward customers who were literally trying to tip you? And he did this in front of other customers and employees. That was probably the most humiliating part. I was being publicly embarrassed over a voluntary gratuity when there shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. I immediately approached the front desk because I was so upset. The front desk employee looked shocked that I was even coming to her about Tom's behavior. I told her directly that his behavior was rude and completely inappropriate for someone working in the service industry. I asked her if Tom was always like this, and she told me he behaves this way "sometimes." That honestly made me even angrier. If this type of behavior isn't completely unexpected from him, why is a customer still being put in this position? I asked for my tip back and specifically requested an apology from Tom. He returned the money, but he never apologized. Not once. Instead, he continued saying things in another language in an angry manner and became even more aggressive and unpleasant toward us. I couldn't understand what he was saying, so I won't pretend that I know what was said, but I absolutely understood his tone, body language, and attitude. I did not appreciate being treated that way. The front desk employee told me she would speak with the owner about Tom and have his behavior "corrected." I'm sorry, but I don't feel like that's enough, especially after being told he behaves this way "sometimes." I work in the service industry myself. I understand that sometimes you may be disappointed or frustrated with a customer. But you keep that frustration to yourself and remain professional. You don't aggressively snatch money, openly display your anger, embarrass a customer in front of other people, and then become even more hostile when they speak up about how they're being treated. And your behavior doesn't just reflect on you. It reflects on the entire business. A gratuity is voluntary, not mandatory. Whatever someone's expectations may be, they do not have the right to treat a customer aggressively or humiliate them because of a tip. And for a business called "Happy Buddha," there was absolutely nothing happy, peaceful, or welcoming about this experience. The name honestly feels ironic after the way I was treated. I am genuinely angry and holding back while writing this review. I came here expecting to relax. Instead, I walked out embarrassed, humiliated, angry, and extremely disappointed. I have formally reported this experience because I don't believe this type of behavior should simply be brushed aside. "Happy Buddha"? There was nothing happy about my experience today. I will absolutely not be returning.
