This was my first time visiting Hollywood Beach. It wasn't part of the original plan, but after attending another event nearby, we decided to stop by and relax for a while. We were fortunate to find metered street parking just steps away from the beach, making access very convenient. This boardwalk is long and you can find yourself on any part of the beach. The boardwalk had a lively atmosphere with people rollerblading, riding electric bikes, and even pedaling those fun four wheel family bikes. It created a really enjoyable and energetic vibe. When we made our way onto the beach, it wasn't crowded at all, so finding a comfortable spot to sit was easy. We even took a swim in the ocean. The water felt cool when we first stepped in, but after a few minutes our bodies adjusted, and it became a very refreshing and enjoyable swim. There was a lifeguard on duty until around 6:30 PM, which added an extra sense of comfort and safety. Across the street, there was a restaurant and bar where visitors could grab drinks, food, or snacks and bring them back to enjoy by the beach. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Hollywood Beach. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful shoreline, and lively boardwalk made for a memorable visit, and I would definitely return. read more

Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is a very active and busy boardwalk adjacent to Hollywood Beach, Florida. I have been here many times, especially in the spring. It is much easier to take a walk on the boardwalk in the spring than it is in the summer, where the current temperatures will easily climb over 100 degrees, and the humidity is pretty close. The boardwalk is dead until 7:00 pm in the summer, in the spring there's activity around the clock. Despite the signs indicating "no pets on boardwalk", I have seen a fair amount. It would be respectful if their owners wouldn't leave their messes behind them. On the boardwalk you'll notice, the young, the elderly, locals and travelers. Some are walking, some are running and others are biking. There are a handful of stores and some restaurants. I've reviewed several of them through the years. At the end of the boardwalk you'll find a theatre, this is where the live music can be heard from. I love to come here in the evening in the summer, enjoying a cool drink, by the palm trees and the sea, where the refreshing wind is blowing my way. We were out and about on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk super early this morning. In the hopes of getting summer ready in a few weeks, I joined the Run Club who meets here every Saturday morning at 8am. Honestly, early mornings are the best time to be here. If you can make it to watch the sunrise, please do. It really is beautiful. Love the little cafes lining the board walk. Lots of garbage cans around for trash collection. It's a great spot to meet new people and interact with like minded folks. read more

The main thing that we love the Hollywood Beach area is the Broadwalk! This makes strolling along the beach to the local restaurants, shops, bars, etc. super easy and convenient. Many places have live entertainment. Also, bike rentals and roller skates are super popular. The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is 2.5 miles long, so just about anyone can cover the full length of it if you wish to. Rent a bike or surrey or walk in the designated pedestrian area... The palms are perfect. Second, there is a band shell next to Margaritaville where they have live music every week Wednesday-Sunday 7-10pm where you can bring your own drinks and just chill. And third, you can walk around with a drink in your hand!! Almost every night, there's live music at the outdoor Hollywood Beach Theatre right on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Music styles vary throughout the week, giving everyone a taste of something they'll like. read more

Hollywood Beach can be so pretty with it's white sand beaches that stretch out to the Ocean. One of the few beaches in south Florida with a broadwalk, making it a nice place to take a walk or ride a bike.. Paid parking in the lots or on the street will run 4.35 an hour and you can pay via mobile AP. Every once in a while, I enjoy driving down to walk the 2 mile broadwalk. It runs the length of the beach and has restaurants, bars and shops. You never know what you're going to find down here. It looks like they're renovating a lot of the hotels and cleaning up the area. Usually in the winter, it's overcrowded with tourists, but it looked a little quiet, and I was here on a Saturday. read more

We had time to kill before heading to the airport. We decided to go check out the boardwalk. There's street parking with meters everywhere but I didn't want to drive around to look, so we chose a parking ramp. Fun place to be, lots of restaurants, bars, souvenir stores, excursion, etc. Reminds me of Huntington beach. We walked as far as we could, only had 2 hours to burn. It was hot that day, I even walked on the sand towards the shoreline. I made the mistake of taking my sandals off to feel the hot burning sand. Once I got to the water, everything was better. Lots of seaweed and grapevine collected along the beach shore. Otherwise it's beautiful, I can see this place busy in the evening as well. read more

I am from Los Angeles and used to go to Venice Beach often. Going to Hollywood Beach reminds me a little bit of home, Venice Beach. There is a lot to do on Hollywood Beach. The heart of everything is on the Broadwalk. There are many restaurants alo g the way. From Mexican to Peruvian to Italian, to ice cream and Subway, the list goes on. I enjoy walking the Broadwalk for exercise. This is the best time of year to go. You can sit and people watch. You can rent a bike for yourself or a covered one for up to 6 people, maybe even 8. Parking can be found on the street or in one of several parking lots. I like how there are some nicer restaurants across A1A. I recommend coming to Hollywood Beach Broadwalk if you are on vacation. Most likely if you live here, you have already visited. read more

This is definitely my go to beach. Recently I have been going early mornings during the weekend hoping to arrive early to watch the sunrise. In the early morning you see many people walking, jogging, few bike riders enjoying the path... nice oceanview and seabrezze! Great way to start the morning! Most restaurants that offer breakfast start opening around 7-8am for breakfast. Great selection ton of restaurants from laid back, quick bite, party vibe and you might find a few quieter spots. Ocean front restaurants! Parking available in garage. High peak time spring break, holidays... you must arrive early to find parking. I've experienced a few times driving From Miami to Hollywood beach and not been able to find parking around noon. Disappointed beach day. Some garages or parking lots increase the parking rate. This weekend a lot (of course it was empty) was charging $40 for 4 hours while the covered carafe was $20 for 4 hours. So keep that in mind when planning to enjoy the beach day or views. read more

I had the pleasure of staying a couple nights in a hotel right on the boardwalk! Wonderful to walk at any time of day, or evening. I enjoyed an evening walk with my sister the first night and we walked almost to the southern end before doubling back. When I got to explore during the day I realize dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk or beach- something I am very unaccustomed to. In Jax I swear beach and doggies go hand and hand. There are lots of hotels, shops and plenty of restaurants and bars along the boardwalk and of course- a gorgeous beach to access too. read more

What a lively place. There is something for everyone of all ages. Full of restaurants bars little stores and plenty of of characters. I enjoyed how well lit and clean it was. If you don't want to walk they have bike rentals. If you want a show they have a stage with performers. It truly is an experience. My stroll down the Hollywood Beach (Florida) was sort of a sad experience. I went with a friend on a chilly Winter night, with a beautiful full moon. We walked and down the Boardwalk for approximately one hour. There was literally NO ONE. The Hollywood Boardwalk used to teem on any random night with hundreds of tourists (mostly Canadians) and some locals. There were multiple restaurants open, little souvenir stores, a Harley Davidson-centric store, musicians playing jazz, etc. This particular night we walked on it, there was... No one. You can see behind us that there is literally no one as far as the eye can see (the lone couple also behind us was the only people we saw past us the whole time we were there). Stores, hotel complexes, restaurants were closed or boarded up. The whole place eerily silent, windy and cold. I don't live in South Florida anymore, but I lived in nearby Hallandale Beach for almost 20 years (before, during and after the revitalization of Hollywood Beach)... And I have never experienced like I did that night of December 2025. I hope that, at some point, the Canadians return. Otherwise... I hear the death toll of this magical place. read more

Been coming here for decades and the million dollar ocean view never seems to change, although the amount of tourists have grown exponentially. There are many restaurants and bars up and down the boardwalk with a newer Margaritaville Hotel that brings in most of the tourists. Parking is available in two main garages for a fee. BEACH OCEAN EATS FUN An international east coast location with miles of sandy beach, multi-cultural eateries, live entertainment and many exciting hotels cushioned against the cement broadwalk. Ive been coming to this Hollywood Broadwalk since the mid-seventies with friends and family. Back then it was a ghost town compared to the hustling colorful beast it grew to become today. We park in the public pay garage on Johnson St (sold out alot but can find other open pay lots nearby) and love to ride our bikes from the center of the broadwalk a couple miles north to Quarterdeck and have a beer on their wooden deck overlooking the ocean. The Hollywood Bandshell provides free live music Wednesday thru Sunday 7p - 9p. Each venue has different type of music genre - hip hop, rock n' roll, reggae and new wave. The bandshell is managed by the Margaritaville Hotel which is nestled behind the bandshell. This mega beachy Jimmy Buffett song inspired hotel was errected in 2015 and boasts numerous restaurants and 369 rooms and suites. Over the years, I've stayed several valentines days here and loved it. My favorite part of the broadwalk is sitting in the outside patio of the mom and pop owned restaurants while people watching and feeling the cool salty sea breezes in the winter months and bicycle riding in the summer. Some of my favorite broadwalk restaurants are Rocco's Pizza, Nick's Bar and Oasis by the Sea Greek. Also, about a half mile south of the bandshell on the broadwalk is the long standing Hollywood Brewery open until midnight. If you dare to walk a few streets inland between A1A and the broadwalk, you can find some of the older hotels offering live local musicians playing under tiki huts in the courtyards and they offer liquor and beer to the public. This beach is extremely busy during the weekends, but I recommend coming during the weekdays for easy access to food, easier parking and a calmer less bustling walk along the broadwalk. read more

Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is one of my favorite places in Florida. I stay in the same place every time I visit. My spot is right off the boardwalk. I get to watch the sunrise, grab my Cuban coffee, tacos, ice cream, and any items I need from the surf shops. People are very active here. Unfortunately there are no dogs or skateboards allowed on the boardwalk. This sets it apart from the Venice, CA Boardwalk. Maybe when all the old people expire, the rules will ease up. I feel it's unfair to still be so judgmental against these activities in life! Other than those two ridiculous rules, the boardwalk is the place to be! read more

When I think of a beach boardwalk I think of the Jersey shore with carnival rides, games, shops, and food. it turns out Hollywood founder Joseph Young had the same idea in mind when he created his city in 1925. Inspired by the City Beautiful Movement and Atlantic City's boardwalk, Young built a 30 foot wide cement promenade, a broadwalk, along 1.5 miles of Hollywood shoreline. It is not a boardwalk because it was not built from boards. It is broadwalk built from coral rock dredged from the Intracoastal Waterway and later paved over with asphalt. Young's broadwalk was home to the Hollywood Beach Casino which was built at a cost of $250,000. The casino had 824 dressing rooms, eighty shower baths, a shopping arcade, and an Olympic-sized salt water swimming pool with a three story diving tower. Young built both the Broadwalk and the Casino to draw tourists to the ocean. Eventually the pool was demolished and the half block lot where the casino sat was left empty for decades. During WWII the Hollywood Beach Hotel on the broadwalk was taken over by the Navy and commissioned as the US Naval Indoctrination and Training School. One thousand officer trainees graduated in the first class. Two months later it became a navigation school with subsequent classes of 1,500 and more. During this time beach access was restricted by the military who were looking for German U boats off the coast of Florida. Today the broadwalk stretches nearly two and a half miles along the Atlantic Ocean and has been named one of America's Best Beach Boardwalks by Travel + Leisure magazine. Parking for the broadwalk is available at garages and metered spaces on side streets. Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Resort occupies the space left by the old Hollywood Beach Casino. The new resort is set back from the broadwalk but still has access to it and it has a large hotel, restaurants, and several pools. The smooth surface and safety from vehicle traffic makes the boardwalk a popular destination for walkers, joggers, bicyclists, rollerbladers. They have really fun quad surrey bikes you can rent to pedal around on. Lining the broadwalk is the beach on the east side and restaurants, hotels, tiki bars, parks, and shops on the west side. I always love coming down here for exercise and people watching. There is always something interesting going on like a demonstration of a new sport called footbolley that looks like volleyball but is played using your feet. A lot of south Florida cities have beaches but no one has a broadwalk like Hollywood. I think Joseph Young would be pleased to know that his broadwalk is still drawing people to the Hollywood beach today. read more

I loved walking the Broadwalk for 2 hours! While some of the attractions have closed along the way including a mall/shopping complex near the end, most of them are still open and it's a leisurely stroll for about 2 miles from one end to the other if you are coming back to where you started. The broad walk is more than wide enough to accommodate walkers, riders, etc. Everyone was polite and friendly and made way for bikers or paddle-riders as people made their way along. Enough shops remain for you to look for some souvenirs or some beachwear if you need it as well as hotels and restaurants. There is also a wave pool where several surfers were trying their hands at improving (or showing off) their skills. Got some pistachio soft serve at about the halfway point. Staff were on hand to answer questions and to keep the spaces neat and tidy by cleaning up trash and emptying the trash cans while I was on site. Parking is either at the North end lot, street, or one of the several lots along the way. This is an easygoing and quiet beach that I enjoyed as my favorite while in Ft. Lauderdale for several days. read more

Broadwalk not broadwalk as there is no wooden boardwalk to walk on. This has been a perfect summer spot to discover thanks to my Niece Stephanie. Truly a great *hidden* gem I've driven past a zillion times when either driving north and south. You would never know from A1A how great a place this is. A favorite go-to for afternoon and early evening shenanigans and vacation vibes!  Find your parking spot and a daycation awaits as you chill out on the beach during the day,  take a relaxing stroll on the broadwalk,  order food and drink nearby and bring back to the beach or just dine right there!  Oh and you can rent group bicycles or trikes to go up and down the broadwalk! Or take it a step further and take the whole weekend here at one of the beachfront rental places!  NOTE:  my favorite day to come is Sunday thanks to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville hotel with the performance stage free to the public every Sunday live band 7pm until 9pm ish!  Free seating,  great times, or eat at nearby restaurants with a view of the stage.  Plus many other options nearby if you decide to leave this area.. If you do stay, there are plenty of places to eat dinner, and get ice cream later and hey even hang out at Nicks until 4am!  Wow a fun place this area is. read more

Hollywood Beach was the beach where my kids grew up and where we always took house guests. It was safe, clean and friendly. No so much anymore. This is ghetto beach now and the broadwalk that we loved is gone. The rules enforcement in Miami and Fort Lauderdale have sent the thugs packing so they are taking over Hollywood and Dania beaches. If you go on any weekend, it will be hard to find a place to park. Then you will be forced to listen to a crazy mix of music blaring from dozens of oversized speakers. My of the urban tunes played loudly do not have lyrics that are offensive and awful. If you ask for the music to be turned down, be prepared for a torrent of swearing and slurs against you if you are white. If all of that mayhem is not enough, you can enjoy the clouds of cigarette, cigar and weed smoke. The broadwalk is filthy. Plus, now that Senior Frogs has arrived, the crowd is more unruly and even less friendly. Fist fights, people hopelessly stoned, falling down drunks, shouting matches, weed smoke and oppressive music are what we saw on six sucessive visits. The last visit, we had to leave after being phyically threatened. The police would not even come to see the situatio. If you feel like you need to take a weapon to the beach for protection, it is time to move. This is what we have done. The City of Hollywood and the Hollywood police are not willing to do what beaches are doing all over Florida which is to send the thugs away and protect the beaches for enjoyment by all people and all races that dont mind behaving and welcoming one another. read more
