This is literally one of the best ways to spend an hour (& $35). Sunny feet does take walk-ins when they can, but I've always made an appointment. After checking in, you enter a large, open treatment area. It's relatively dark and it's very quiet except for the soothing music. (Please allow me to digress for a minute just to mention that the time to ask questions, turn off your cell phone, and/or unwrap a piece of hard candy is before entering that area, just to be considerate to those whose sessions are underway. Thank you! :D) Ok, so they'll walk you to your seat. If you're with someone, you'll be next to them during the massage. First you soak your feet in warm lavender-scented water while reclined & covered with a blanket. The order & how you're seated has changed since Sunny feet first opened. They start with your arms & hands then do you feet first all while you're reclined. And as mentioned in some previous reviews the pressure can be pretty intense at times. I like it, but if it's too much for you the therapists are very accommodating & want you to be happy. Then they convert the recliner into a massage table to focus on your shoulders, neck & back. There are 2 options: the "Regular" which is $35 for an hour, this is mostly feet with about 15 minutes shoulders, neck & back. The "Combo" is $40 for an hour and is half feet, half shoulders, neck & back. *This is a legit full hour, not a "spa hour." My husband prefers the Regular & I like the Combo. This is the best place for professional massage from an experienced licensed massage therapist. You won't believe how strong May is, she really gets down into the muscles and gets out the knots and lactic acid. I think we've found our new foot massage location! It has been a rainy cool week and we really needed massages, so we decided to treat ourselves to a foot massage. I looked on yelp, of course, and found this location not too far away. I called the night before to make a reservation, as suggested. We arrived (in the rain) a few minutes early and waited on the small lobby area. We told the man behind the desk that o like a lighter touch and my husband preferred a stronger massage. We were each given bottles of water. We were ushered into the room with lounge chairs, seated, and immediately they began working -- starting with the scalp, neck and shoulders. Arms, hands, legs, feet. So relaxing but oh so necessary for my sore muscles. Turning face down, they covered every vertebrae, glutes, and part of my back. It's almost like you are getting a full massage, but have your clothes on. I used to love coming to this place and would come at least once a week. Apparently they have new ownership and have no customer service skills whatsoever. They hang up on you if you can't take the appointment they want you to take. The girl that I spoke to this morning on the phone was extremely rude and I gave her the opportunity to let me speak with the new manager to try to help the situation but instead she said she didn't have time for me because she had other calls coming in. Been coming here for years. I haven't been in about 2 months, it's my own fault I didn't check the prices but it went to $70!!!! It was $55, 2 months ago. When they changed to new owners recently they were amazing at first, hot stone added at no charge to the combo massage. The past two times (not this one) they didn't do the stones anymore, it is what it is but it was a nice added touch for the price. Now, $70, no hot stone, no music, normal run of the mill reflexology. I know inflation is here but I don't see the value anymore, especially since places close by that offer the same or better massages are $50 for an hour. I followed all of the rules - called and made my appointment, presented the Groupon. I was told "NO!" We don't take Groupon any more. I said, "It has not expired. We paid for the service. This place is the bomb! It's one of those hurt so good type experiences that may not be for everyone. We love having it in our hood and often call in for a same day appointment. I prefer the regular service with full pressure which is one hour for $30 and although a good portion of the time is spent on your feet it still includes a lot of back, shoulders, hands and neck time. Yelp tip...there is usually a check-in deal of $5 off. Also..call in for an appointment..the place gets pretty busy with walk-ins. read more
