When I walked in, the workers were doing each others nails laughing. One of the workers finally asked me to come over to the pedicure chair.. I showed her a picture and gave her details of what I wanted (literally just a French pedicure with a small line). Once she started painting my toenails I could see right away that it was bad. I kindly asked her to redo the ones she did before moving forward. I asked her in the most kind and respectful way! She started huffing around and made me bleed with the file. DO NOT GO HERE if you want an excellent experience. After she got done with my toes I was transferred to another lady who did my nails. I had three acrylic nails from my past manicure I had done for my wedding a couple of weeks ago that needed taken off. SHE didn't soak them or anything... she filed them down with that spinning file and it burned my nail bed. She left parts of the old acrylic nails on my fingers and I can see it through the gel paint she put on. I paid and left crying. NEVER GOING BACK. The first worker was named Lilly. read more

Worst customer service to ever exist. Save yourself the headache and go else where. They will mess up your nails then not accommodate you when you come back the next day to have it fixed. They also play the most obnoxious non-relaxing music there is. read more

I found myself with a few spare hours during a recent visit to Oakland and made an impromptu appointment at Sunny for a mani/pedi. The next day, my Oakland friends and I left for a week at the beach. WEEKS later, and you would've never known that my nails had been dug in the sand for days or that countless cans of beer had been popped with my nails. This was the best mani/pedi I've ever had, and it was pretty cheap! If only I had a salon like Sunny at home, I'd have the best nails on the block. For now, I'll settle for an annual visit and will certainly look forward to it. read more

I made an appointment to get my nails done ahead of vacation. I've been to Sunny at times in the past at random - since I'm not the type to always get my nails done. I went in for my appointment and the manicurist they gave me rushed through out the entire process. It was anything but the enjoyable and relaxing manicure I wanted ahead of vacation. She did a poor job at the basic painting of my nails, not going all the way to the edges, not shaping the nails evenly, not applying enough coats causing the polish to appear "see through", scraping off the remaining gel polish I had on from my previous manicure and afterwards I even saw a bit left on the inside of my nail that I had to remove myself afterwards. If I wasn't leaving for vacation the next day I would have most definitely returned for a refund. She barely touched my cuticles or did anything that you would expect for a $35 manicure. Never again. It seems they only treat their regular customers correctly. read more

I have been going to Sunny Nails for a long time. I cannot more highly recommend the salon! Vicky generally does my nails, although Angie sometimes does them when Vicky is taking a very rare day off. Vicky is very professional and does an amazing job with my nails [pink and white gels (Edited to add: I now get different color gels over gels and Vicky does just as good a job as with the pink and white gels)]. She is always on time and never makes me wait. Also, everything I said about Vicky applies to Angie too. I also get massages at Sunny Nails from Tom nearly every visit. If you go to Sunny's and haven't gotten a massage from Tom, you're missing out! I regularly get massages to manage pain and stress and Tom is as good as anyone I have ever been to anywhere.. including spas at the Ritz Carlon, the Fountain, Eforea, Bliss, etc. After a massage from Tom, my muscles are lossened up and I feel so much more relaxed then before. As for the salon, it is extremely clean and sanitary and prices are very reasonable. If you live in or near Oakland, you should go to Sunny Nail & Spa! I've been getting my nails done (with acrylic and now gel) for about 25 years and I really cannot more highly recommend Sunny Nails & Spa! read more

I have been to this Sunny Nail Salon about 10 times and twice out these visits I developed nail FUNGAS on both my toenails and fingernails!! They used both polishes on me, gel and regular! I am totally disgusted with this place due to the fact of improper cleaning of their tools!! I also told the girl that the dryer for the GEL manicure was filthy dirty and she kept telling me to put my hand in there!!! read more

I was getting my gel done at another salon and when I went in for a fill one day there was nobody there to do it. This was obviously an emergency so I called around until I found somewhere that could see me that night and ended up at Sunny's. I was a little wary because of some of the reviews here but I have to say I was very impressed by the experience and the quality of the work! Angie was super nice and did an amazing job, she was gentle with the drill, the gel wasn't too thick and the shape is so beautiful. I noticed that I could never make a full two weeks at the last place and every nail lifted (usually with multiple replacements nails each fill), but with Angie's work I'm at the two week mark and have absolutely no lifting. I'm really impressed and will definitely be going here again. read more

I get most of my pedicures here and they are always great. They have so many different types of pedicures to choose from and even when I just get the basic pedicure, which is most of the time, I have no complaints. I also like that they give you a little back massage while you are drying your nails. Also, there is a customer loyalty card, and after 10 visits, you get money off your next service. read more

Went here recently for nail service as I am from out of the area. I will say the overall outcome of my gel fill was find and looks nice, however, it was the experience that was a little souring. The first lady I met (older) was very kind, but then I was transferred to a younger girl who was very rude, rough (burned me quite a few times with the nail drill) and would literally push my hand away every time she wanted it put under the UV lights. She wouldn't even speak! Eventually she seemed to lighten up, but it was just not a good experience. read more
