Worst pedicure of my life! I went here in search of something local since my old place went out of business. The lady who did my toes spent over 30 minutes just cutting my toes. When she was about to be done cutting them, she managed to cut the skin underneath my big toe. At that point I had enough. I told her to just start painting my toes because I was in a hurry at that point. While painting them she used a tweezer to get a stray hair that fell onto my freshly painted toes. So gross. Don't come here unless you are desperate for a pedicure. Seriously. read more

Other than my well trimmed cuticles, that's the only good thing that came of this simple gel manicure. I was manhandled and had to argue with the lady to get 3 coats of a light color that more than required it. Lesson learned will not return. read more

I LOVE Sunny Nails!!! highlights: very friendly, unpretentious service, amazing massages that make the service routinely takes an hour for a $23 mani-pedi, personable staff that are very nice and don't yap away during your treatment so you can relax, soothing modern atmosphere, professional, nice paint job (mani lasts ~ 1 week; pedi lasts at least 3 weeks); they also do a wonderful french polish could be better: nail polish color selection--could be better and more frequently updated with new colors. I remedy this by bringing in my own OPI colors. also the spa chairs aren't top notch but this is compensated by the awesome shoulder and calf massage I almost didn't write this review because I don't want too many people to know how amazing this place is! I've been going here for about 2 years now on a weekly basis after trying a variety of routine nail salons that overpopulate Grand avenue. By far this place is the best because of their stellar job from start to finish! I love the atmosphere, the kindness, and good job they do. It is a clean salon which satisfies my germaphobe tendencies. Also, I have never been once hurt by the cuticle trimming or toenail trimming. read more

Came in at 2pm and had to wait 2 hours to get a full set. it's a nail shop and there is only one nail lady to do gel and acrylics and it's a Saturday. Smh read more

This is a great place to get your nails done. It does not have that tight feeling that most Grand Ave. nail spots have where you can barely walk down the center to get to a chair. They are very sanitary here as well. I never have to question. Mandy does great for eyebrows a decent price. $10 and $23 for mani/pedi. Not bad at all! They do beyond most nail salons in the massage department. Long massages that put you to sleep and also upper arm and back. read more

One word, CLEAN! ...so important. Been a customer for almost 3 years and this nail place is a great value for their services and makes a man like me feel welcome too. Be sure to pay cash or the price goes up 2 bucks for mani/pedi if credit card is used! Also, keep the conversation light with the nail "manager" she's a bit homophobic and tends to be derogatory about this topic. I've found myself offended but chalk it up to a language barrier issue so I won't stop going...OVERALL...consistantly great place for a little self TLC. read more

if i could give this 0 stars i would. i did not have a good experience at all. so my mom and i came to the salon, and i had a nail design in mind and found inspo pictures to show the technician. we set up an appointment but i still had to wait a while to start my acrylics (i was doing my hands and feet). mandy did my nails. it took her a long time to finish putting the acrylics on since she kept taking calls and running around the store. she told me she does not normally do designs and that she would try. she told me we would do each nail design one by one. the paint was not applied evenly and there were even messy random lines. i think she was rushing because there was another customer and they were short staffed. this does not make it okay though. when she asked if i liked my nails, i lied and said yes even though i was already upset. when i got home, i kept getting more and more upset because the nails looked terrible and my nailbeds hurt. i even went to a different salon the next day and they were asking me where i went before since the acrylics were so thick. they drilled them down for me and repainted them with the same inspo pictures and applied everything evenly. it's ridiculous how i had to pay such a high amount for bad nails and an extra 30 somewhere else for a better paint job. afterwards, mandy texted and called my mom. she told her my expectations were too high and that i was expecting a lot. if she did not think she could do the designs well, she could have told me and i would've been disappointed but understand and move on with it rather than paying for bad nails. it is extremely unprofessional to harrass us like this instead of saying sorry that it wasnt what i was expecting. i also dont appreciate how she never told me how much more my nails would be due to the design. like what if i didnt have enough? i wont be coming back here. read more

I have been here several times with great results. Today I took my mom because a friend gave us a set of gift certificates for mothers day. First the owner acted like we were welfare recipients when I asked how much extra I needed to pay for shellac. Then when my mom asked if she could just get the pedi and let my daughter have the Mani (my mom had a mani two days ago) the owner told her she can't split the service and there's a difference between the Mani just by itself. My mom asked how much and she just kept going on and on in the most insulting manner. I stepped in and she completely went off on me - yelling at me in front of all her customers. I then asked her name and told her I would be sure to review her on yelp. She refused and said "you're just a first time customer. I have lots of customers." I then reminded her she's done my nails twice before and even if I were a first time customer she would never see me again. She continued to berate me and really caused a scene. It was shameful and we finally just walked out. Who needs to put up with insults and disrespect when there are literally 50 nail shops on the stretch of Grand avenue. She clearly doesn't give a damn about her customers and doesn't quite grasp the point of a gift certificate (drumming up business). read more

Amazing: my gel manicure is just barely starting to chip 3 weeks in. And I am tough on my hands (ride horses, play other sports, do dishes without gloves). I have never had a gel manicure last nearly this long from any other salon. Less one star because the pedicure didn't get my calluses cleaned up enough and because I had to wait a while before getting service. Typical lackluster ambiance as is found in other salons in the neighborhood. But holy heck I will not be getting gels done anywhere but here from hereon out!! read more

I would not recommend getting body waxing here. They underestimated the wait, which was quite long (20-30 minutes). I got some brazilian/bum waxing done by Mandy, but she was far less thorough than other places I've gone (and I've had this service done probably 20-30 times in my life). On top of that, she seemed to be complaining about it. It was very expensive, and I was not satisfied with the service at all. Won't be going back. read more

When you are a new customer they will do a great job. My friends and I have become regulars and the service has become considerably worse. This week I made us both a n appointment. My friend begged me to try booking a new place, but because I'm kind of a creature of habit, I booked anyways. I should have listened!!!!! We get there ontime for our appointment. We follow the routine of picking a color, from the small selection of new colors. We wait 45 minutes to even get in the chair. I guess I hadn't really noticed because we were so caught up in conversation. Meanwhile, a gruop of three ladies walk in (new clients) and are ushered to the pedi chair. We bring this to the attention of the owner. She instructs her staff to seat us in a chair. We get lukevwarm water, and we wait some more as they do the new clients feet. My friend is llvid and I have to hear I told you so. But, I will say, once it was our turn (with an appt)we were both satisfied with the pedicure today. There have been times, depending on who has done my pedi, in which I haven't been. Okay we make it through the pedi, now time for both of our fills. Well, there is only one person, besides the owner (when she wants to-no matter how busy it is) that does nails. So of course we have to wait some more (even with an appt :-/). We finally make it through that process. My friend survived unscathed, no bloodshed this time for her. Me however, battlefield war wounds, my skin was filed and cut with the drill. The lady was overly rough and careless with my hands, and laughed when I expressed my concerns. My fingers are extremly sore as a type this review :-/ . Then I am hit with another I told you so from my friend. Okay, now it's time to pay. And I must admit, I have noticed that the price is NEVER the same. Even if you get the same service everytime. Inconsistent is the word. I didn't want to carry my purse in that day, so I called back anonymously before we came to our appt. to ask the price of a a pedicure and fill. The owner, which I can identify her voice on the phone because I am a regular told me $18 for pedi, $13 for fill and $3 if you need a nail fixed. So when she quoted me $40. I lost it. She quoted my friend $43. We both came in with no broke nails. However, my friend did get french tips ($5). So it just doesn't add up $18 +$13= $31. When I asked the owner about the cost, she said she cut my toenails down, and mumbled something else enaudible. They then began talking in another language. Which is very rude! I was hit with another I told you we shouldn't have come here, there are several nail salon s on Grand Ave. After 3 hours in the salon (with an appt) after being abused, mistreated, and being overcharged, on more than one occasion, I finally get it,.......time to find a new nail salon. In my ideal world your nail experience should be pleasurable, peaceful and relaxing. We left there and headed to a lounge for lemondrops. Fist time here - Had Gel put on to give me longer nails - 2 broke within the first 3 days. The redo was done poorly too. This has never happen before (breaking) in all the years i get this process done. Very nice people who do a bad job. Go elsewhere if you want to be happy with the quality of the work done. read more
