Stopped in Sunday after the Marathon for brunch and had a really lovely meal. Ambiance was warm and cozy on a rainy day and service was efficient and friendly, I had the cinnamon roll fancy pancakes and a side of eggs. Delicious and fluffy! I've been in with a group twice in the past few months. Both times we've been seated quickly (once with 5, today with 7) on Sunday at lunch. Both times service was great and so was the food! Today I wanted grilled cheese and a friend wanted chicken & waffles so we ended up at Sunny Street. Both of us enjoyed our entrees and talked others into ordering them as well. The Fancy Grilled Cheese (no tomato for me) is delicious: cheesy, crispy sourdough, and tasty bacon. The fries have some seasoning on them. Everyone was happy with their meals for the 2nd time and we always say there's more things on the menu that sound good. read more

My wife and I both got the Hearty Breakfast. She was concerned it would be too much food. It wasn't. The pancakes were good, although the small ration of syrup was laughable. I went and got another tiny glass of syrup, still barely enough. You can tell when it's a corporate restaurant or a gain, some bean counter thought they could save .10 on syrup.. The ham was good quality, tasty, but two little triangles of ham were a tease. The fruit cup was ok. My Over Easy eggs were a little burnt on the bottom, sizzled crispy around the edges, and a lot closer to Over Hard than Easy. It took a long time to get our food, Monday at 11:00 am, I didn't feel like waiting on fresh eggs. They had customers but weren't busy. $15? I won't be back. Wonderful cafe with great service and great food. The menu may not be as expansive as other breakfast chains, but in its simplicity, the food is made to order quickly. They also have seasonal flavors (I always wait in anticipation for the inevitable pumpkin pancakes) for variety. The ambiance is decidedly local, reflecting the community that the restaurant is in. Their basic breakfast is still good. Great service, good people, simple eating. Still a clean place. But this was possibly the worst biscuit and gravy I have ever had. Evidently they thought hiding that brick of a biscuit under gravy would "soften it up" but the bottom half was hard as a rock, and the top was stale. The gravy was bland. So - order anything else on the menu - eggs, pancakes, French toast, breakfast burrito - but avoid the god-awful biscuits and gravy. The fact that one dish sucks knocked off a star - it's still good eating, it's just so bizarre that this one dish their cooks just didn't even phone in, just did hilariously bad at. read more

Super great service overall! Our waitress was very nice and brought out our food promptly, and checked up on us just the right amount- not too frequently, but was there when we needed her. Great breakfast that's for sure! They have a winter special menu with delicious food. I ordered the Waffle Breakfast and that waffle was nice and crispy! The syrup that they harvest from southern Ohio was really good too. I think next time I might order the Chicken and Waffles! My girlfriend ordered the Loaded Hash Browns. I tried a few bites of hers and that is another I would definitely order as well. The sausage and gravy in it was different, but it was actually really good on top of hash browns and eggs. One thing i couldn't help but notice were the water stains on the ceiling... other than that the food and service was great! read more

I can't believe I've not posted this one! This fine breakfast emporium is a favorite of my friends in Dublin. When we visit, this is an inevitable stop, often twice in a trip. The food is breakfast heaven. From the simple two-egg combo to the fancy skillets to the seasonal favs (like pumpkin pancakes!), I've never left hungry. Or without sufficient caffeine. I don't really have any qualms about Sunny Street Cafe. It's a typical chain breakfast place with the usual options. My parents love it because it's relatively quick, inexpensive, and consistent. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes which I enjoyed, and sausage patties. The patties were a little greasy for my liking, but I used napkins to squeeze some of that out. The place appeared to be clean and the service was good. My mom is known for calling a server back several times for various requests, but the waitress was very polite and never seemed annoyed. read more

Drove up from Cincinnati to visit my daughter who lives nearby. We arrived at 1:30. Sign on the door says they close at 2:30. Our sever told us shortly after arriving that the kitchen was closing soon so we needed to order. Okay, so we ordered. At 2:15, she can back and said I'm off so I need to leave your check so you can pay me now. I immediately told her I felt rushed, the sign says you close at 2:30 and that this was ridiculous. She then said they close at 1:30 because of Covid. Hmmmm... we walked in at 1:30. They were not closed. Really disappointed and won't be back. read more

This place is more of a 3.5 star place. Good casual place and there's rarely a wait. They have a decent selection of breakfast staples but I usually prefer to go to other brunch places that offer better tasting food and ambiance for the price. read more

Alright. I um had to give this place 5 stars. Like FREAKING WOWED ME! So i go in today after running a 5k race and doing a 1 hour long hip-hop fitness class. And decided that I was going to treat myself for such an awesome day by having the "Bananas Foster's Pancakes." These pancakes were like the best pancakes ever. Like it wasn't even the Banana Foster's topping that made this the best pancake i had thus far. But just the pancake itself. So many times i get pancakes from places and they are either too dry or possess an overwhelming eggy taste. Not these pancakes. They were on point. The bananas on top were so fresh it was ridiculous. And the walnuts were great too. The service rocked. Every time I finished my drink like as soon as it was empty. The server had it filled up. It was like magic. I would turn my head just briefly and turn back and there it was. I love service like that. The place was packed as well. read more

The food is pretty breakfast standard, not to much is different then you can get at any other breakfast/lunch place. The staff is friendly, the food comes fast, and the coffee is hot. Great way to start the morning. I have tried many dishes, the best being the PUMPKIN pancakes. Sounds funny right, but sooooo good!!! I am sooo happy when they are on the special board. Other then that the food is pretty standard. The nice this they will give you a coffee to go , no charge if you already have been drinking it :) !! I came here at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning so that I would miss the breakfast rush. I ordered the French Toast Crunch with a side order of Chicken Sausage. Both were great and the french Toast comes topped with bananas, strawberries, and whipped cream. It was soo good that I didnt need syrup (but I tried the syrup anyways). The syrup didnt taste Like it was From GFS or anything and had a good amount of flavor. Service was great and we were seated upon walking into the restaurant. I think we waited maybe 3 minutes for drinks and another 1 minute to get our order in. The food came out very quickly. I would reccomend anyone in the area try this for their next breakfast. read more

My wife and I came here early in the morning over the weekend since we are new to the area trying to find nice spots for breakfast and we both could not have been more pleased with this location. The cafe is extremely clean and looks brand new but has been there for over 10 years according to one of the employees I spoke with. Jackie was our waitress and she was great. She took our order quickly and made sure we got our food while it was fresh out the kitchen. She certainly went above and beyond for our visit there. The food was outstanding I got the country omelette and I highly recommend anyone who is a lover of omelettes and sausage gravy to give this a try. I will 100% be back to this location in the future to try more options on the menu. Thank you again to Jackie and the rest of the team at the cafe! read more

This place sucks. Slow service and horrible cooks in the kitchen. I ordered the loaded hash browns that was suppose to come with a sautéed onions, but no it came with raw onions on the dish - #wtf? The entire dish was ruined. I wasn't the only one either, another customer in line had the same problem. I didn't even eat half of the dish, but the server tried to charge me full price after I pointed out that they hadn't even followed their own recipe. Further more, my friend ordered the corned beef hash and the potatoes showed uncooked and hard as a rock - one again #wtf? As I said, this place sucks. You'd be better off going around to McDonald's for breakfast. read more

I ordered a Denver Omelet and Biscuits and Gravy. Each item (which were brought out separately), were lukewarm and had to be sent back. The biscuits were great when heated up, the omelet was awful and runny and the veggies were barely cooked. We had to ask for silverware and had to flag the waitress down for refills. The manager did remove the omelet without any questions. My companion says his French toast was good. Food was way overpriced for what you get and the quality. read more

Had some friends visiting from out of town so I took them to what used to be my daily B'fast place when I lived in this neighborhood. I hadn't been here in almost a year but Jerry the owner still remembered me and greeted us warmly on our arrival. While I don't get out in the mornings much any more, this is my goto place for breakfast on the NW side, never had a bad meal or service at this location, never. Consistant good food, a nice menu with a decent selection of comfort food items and some specialties that keep me coming back and great Gevalia coffee. Other than plenty of great breakfast foods to choose from three menu items keep me coming back here, the Housemade Corned Beef Hash, the French Toast Crunch and their eggs benedict. The corned beef hash made with onion and taters fried up crisp is b'fast nirvana for me. The french toast crunch needs no syrup, covered in coconut and crunchy granola this will give you all the sugary energy you'll need for one day. The Eggs Benedict here are wonderful, served up in three styles, benedict, blackstone and their sunny street style all topped by the tastiest hollandaise sauce in town. Overall they do eggs right here in any variation you can think of and one place I can always count on doing poached eggs to my liking. As for tater choices with your b'fast they have traditional shredded hash browns and country style seasoned home fries that get my stamp of the Tater Code of Approval and give ya that starchy goodness to soak up anything you put in your tummy the night before. There are a lot of national chain b'fast & brunch places out there that only try to do what the Rise & Dine has perfected, locally owned and operated and always a good place to fill your face for the day! read more

As this location is conveniently located for me, I have visited here many times. My past few visits have consistently been very disappointing. So what is good about this place ... menu items are quite reasonably priced, a nice selection of different breakfast and lunch items and usually fairly tasty too. It is located along Sawmill Road in a strip mall with plenty of available parking. Service has been mediocre, depending on who you get. I will add that most (not all) work hard at serving the customers. My last experience, however, the center server station was quite the social scene at the expense of paying attention to patrons. It became really obvious who was working hard and who were not, including my server ... empty drink glasses ... delivering a salad without any dressing ... forgetting a side order. None of those things were really cause to downgrade to a one star. I don't give a one star lightly, either, but the past number of visits warrants the rating. That side of fruit with your omelet? ... they are premade and sit out on the counter next to where hot foods are place under heaters. I saw the same fruit sitting there through an entire meal when a server finally picked one up and added it to someone else's order. And those potato chips ... are kept in a bin with a scoop that bare hands reach into to grab the scoop for your order. And the cook ... kept snacking on the bacon in the back with bare hands. I had the harvest chopped salad with my last visit. It was pretty obvious that the ingredients had been around for awhile. The lettuce was beginning to turn brown. What really did me in ... seeing a server wipe her nose on her bare hand, picks up a coffee filter and starts brewing a new pot of coffee. She obviously was not paying attention to what she was doing. There are too many other restaurants around. I'm definitely going to head to one of their competitors in the future. read more

I went there this morning because I saw homemade corned beef hash and Eggs Benedict. I'm from out of town and it wasn't too far from my hotel. Confusing not having a please wait to be seated sign, Someone did sit me at a table that looked like it had dried syrup. Place about half full, most people without food at their table. Sometimes a line of 4-7 people waiting to cash out. I prefer the waitress take my money so I'm sure to have some ones for a tip without walking back to the table. The waitress was nice enough to let me substitute the homemade corned beef hash for the side on my order of Eggs Benedict. Food arrived after about 7 minutes. I immediately touched the hollandaise sauce and hash to see if they were hot. nope. Eggs benedict meat was tough and sauce too much lemon. Not hot. Corned beef hash was plentiful for on the side, but was too salty. I didn't find any crisp spots either. More like mush than chunks like the menu says. Not hot. Totaql bill was about $9, I guess reasonable. I'm not going back. read more
