    Fancy Grilled Cheese

I've been in with a group twice in the past few months. Both times we've been seated quickly (once with 5, today with 7) on Sunday at lunch. Both times service was great and so was the food! Today I wanted grilled cheese and a friend wanted chicken & waffles so we ended up at Sunny Street. Both of us enjoyed our entrees and talked others into ordering them as well. The Fancy Grilled Cheese (no tomato for me) is delicious: cheesy, crispy sourdough, and tasty bacon. The fries have some seasoning on them. Everyone was happy with their meals for the 2nd time and we always say there's more things on the menu that sound good.

If you're looking for a weekend brunch location in columbus, look no further. My friend Bri and I went on a Sunday morning and had a great breakfast. I ordered the French toast crunch on sourdough bread that was to die for: 9.5/10 I also ordered a berry yogurt bowl that was excellent: 9.5/10 Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 love the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after try one

Great breakfast that's for sure! They have a winter special menu with delicious food. I ordered the Waffle Breakfast and that waffle was nice and crispy! The syrup that they harvest from southern Ohio was really good too. I think next time I might order the Chicken and Waffles! My girlfriend ordered the Loaded Hash Browns. I tried a few bites of hers and that is another I would definitely order as well. The sausage and gravy in it was different, but it was actually really good on top of hash browns and eggs. One thing i couldn't help but notice were the water stains on the ceiling... other than that the food and service was great!

I don't really have any qualms about Sunny Street Cafe. It's a typical chain breakfast place with the usual options. My parents love it because it's relatively quick, inexpensive, and consistent. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes which I enjoyed, and sausage patties. The patties were a little greasy for my liking, but I used napkins to squeeze some of that out. The place appeared to be clean and the service was good. My mom is known for calling a server back several times for various requests, but the waitress was very polite and never seemed annoyed.

Grabbed Breakfast with the Husband this morning and everything was FANTASTIC! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I got the Hearty Breakfast Combo and I got the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. Came with Cinn Butter, Tres Leches and real Maple Syrup. You have to try these! Also enjoyed their new Dairy Free Vanilla oat milk Cold Brew. I'm obsessed with Cold Brew, perfect for summer. We will be back!!!! Especially to try and get a patio table.

Had breakfast there this morning. Staff was friendly and helpful w questions. I had a side of hash, scrambled eggs and the chicken and waffles. My bestie had the banana bread oatmeal. Food was decent, the chicken and waffles was great. The hash was a family recipe it was heavily seasoned and very fresh. Would go again for a nice affordable breakfast.

The small cozy atmosphere was a delight to enjoy a wonderful meal and conversation. The drinks were exceptionally great and since I'm coming from California, very affordable. The food was delicious, especially the braised beef croquets, chicken friend mushrooms, whipped ricotta, and sourdough. The pork collar and the tare squash were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. I requested the sommelier to recommend a wine that would compliment our order and the Domaine de Ferrand Chateauneuf - du- Pape a fine French wine from the Rhone Valley was our selection. This was a beautiful bottle and fine selection. John, our server was the perfect gentlemen and server with great personality and full of customer service.

While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined.

Parking was easy since there is a free lot out back and there is a decent amount of street parking nearby. We got there during the hour between lunch and dinner where they are flipping the restaurant for the next meal. The server asked us if we would still like to come in and get some drinks and hang out until food was ready. We decided it was worth the wait. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive. She even brought me a bag of ice for the milk I had to pump during the meal. We ordered some drinks and talked for a little while and she came back promptly at four to take our food orders. I ordered the seasonal salad, which had an incredible house made peppercorn vinaigrette, Delicata, squash, mixed greens, blueberries, walnuts, and a few other things. I also got a side of beer battered fries with Housemade ranch. Everything I got was five stars. I will honestly be dreaming about that salad and wish they sold the salad dressing by the bottle. I kind of regret not asking for something to go. My sisters enjoyed spinach artichoke dip, a burger, a pizza, the salmon dish, the hot honey brussels sprouts, the nonalcoholic wine, a strawberry lemonade, and a cocktail. The prices were pretty good, especially given the quality of food. The restaurant got pretty busy throughout the night, so it seems as though it is a fan favorite in the area. However, it never got too loud and there seemed to be enough seating that people didn't have to wait. It was a decent size dining room and they had a covered patio out back. I would definitely return and would recommend this place to a friend.

The patio is easily one of the most visually appealing dining spaces I've visited recently. Between the greenery-covered walls, woven seating, oversized fans, and open-air layout, it feels like a greenhouse and cocktail lounge had a very attractive child together. It's the kind of place where you find yourself wanting to stay awhile, and honestly, the atmosphere had me excited before I even opened the menu. Our server, Emily, was fantastic throughout the visit--friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant to interact with. The Porch Swinging cocktail ended up being one of the highlights of the afternoon. As someone who isn't a huge drinker and usually struggles with paying appetizer prices for cocktails, I actually enjoyed this one. Refreshing, balanced, and easy to sip on while enjoying the patio. For food, I ordered the Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich with blackened chicken and upgraded my side to the Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts. The sandwich comes with avocado, arugula, pickled red onion, pepper jack cheese, honey mustard spread, and a ciabatta bun. Credit where it's due: the chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy, tender, and moist throughout. The ciabatta was also much softer and fresher than it looked. Unfortunately, this was also where my biggest critique of the meal started to emerge. Everything looked like it should have tasted better than it did. The blackened seasoning barely made an appearance. The pepper jack cheese was surprisingly mild. The arugula didn't contribute much beyond color, and the pickled onions looked far more pickled than they actually tasted. My biggest disappointment was the avocado. When I read avocado on the menu, I pictured fresh slices. Instead, it arrived as warm mashed avocado spread across the bread. It wasn't seasoned enough to stand on its own and ended up taking away from the sandwich more than adding to it. The chicken itself was also noticeably smaller than the bun, leaving the sandwich feeling a bit out of balance. The best way I can describe it is this: it reminded me of those COVID days when you weren't quite sure if your taste buds had fully returned. Every bite gave little glimpses of flavor, but nothing ever fully arrived. Not flavorless, just surprisingly muted. The Brussels sprouts told a similar story. Visually, they looked outstanding. Crispy edges, bacon crumbles, goat cheese, and plenty of color. They were perfectly acceptable, but ultimately landed in the "decent" category. I wouldn't order them again, but I wouldn't complain if they showed up on the table either. My dining companion ordered the OKC Smash Burger with bacon, and this ended up being the stronger entrée. Fresh ingredients, a good bun, quality beef, and a generous portion of fries. It looked fantastic when it arrived. Once again, though, it felt like it stopped just short of where it could have been. The burger tasted like fresh beef and quality ingredients, but also like it was waiting for someone to introduce it to salt and pepper. It was good, and if I returned tomorrow, I'd probably order a burger before I'd order the chicken sandwich again. What made this visit interesting is that the atmosphere, service, and cocktail all exceeded expectations, while the food consistently landed somewhere between decent and good when it looked like it was aiming for great. Nothing was bad. Nothing needed sent back. I just kept finding myself wanting a little more flavor than what was actually reaching the plate. 3/5 I'd absolutely return for the patio, drinks, brunch curiosity, or one of their events. The foundation is there, and the space alone makes Worthington Tavern worth experiencing at least once. If you've been here before, what's the dish that keeps you coming back?
