After many visits, The Whitney House is consistent. Appetizers that are always a W are the Brussel sprouts and whipped goat cheese and bread. Salmon, chimichurri steak, stack burger and salads never disappoint. The high note of our last two visits was the server Ted (I believe is his name). This many understands the perfect balance of attention, knowledge and assistance without being overbearing. Truly the best server we've encountered in ages. Ted, I hope somehow you see this because you are one of a kind!

We chose The Whitney House for Sunday brunch while visiting our OSU student. We got to sit in the back room which was nice and quiet! The set up of this restaurant is neat - and has great character to it. The fries we got as an appetizer were the fan favorite, they were so delicious. I got the eggs Benedict and they truly hit the spot- the eggs and hollandaise were perfect. I would definitely recommend this place and would like to come back in the future!

Was here with friends . Been here before and the food is always good . I had the walleye fish which was very good . I hardly ever order fish unless it's fish and chips but I was glad I ordered it for something different .had the chicken wings for appetizer .

The Whitney house was packed for brunch today and they were running 15 mins behind. You need a reservation!! Once we sat down the service was slower probably since it was so packed. We got the cornbread to start which was actually really good. The brunch menu is the only menu for the day until dinner turns around. So don't expect many sandwiches or lunch items. I got the beef short rib hash with eggs on top, it was good. I wish there were more potatoes though.

First time visiting. The resturaunt is dark and the dining area is very open, with just a few staff members doing most of the serving. Our server was phenomenal. He had the best personality and honestly, made up for the few oversights we experienced. I ordered my burger medium and it very clearly came out cooked through (but was surprisingly still very juicy). The Caesar Salad did not have hardly any shaved Brussels in it; our server did bring a little bowl of more but it was a bit underwhelming. The Goat cheese app was phenomenal as well as the fries.

Amazing ice cream pie dessert! Best ice cream pie I have ever had. Our waiter was Houston. He was very knowledgeable about the menu including the cocktails. Will go back again.

Whitney House recently hosted my group of a dozen friends for a baby shower. Everything was spectacular. They had us in an area where we could easily speak to one another and enjoy our time together, even as such a large group. The Whitney House has easy parking and is a beautiful space. I enjoyed their steak and eggs on the brunch menu. Everything was perfect and it was very fairly priced. The service was outstanding. Our waitress did an amazing job taking care of us and she did a great job passing out the celebratory cake we brought. I am very grateful for the gracious staff and the lovely experience at the Whitney House.

It's been a long time since they removed Ohio toast from the menu. And I came back to try their French toast. I would say it was good, the bread turned to almost custard but I don't understand why it's so dry. I never put any syrup on my toast but I have to pour the whole syrup, the toast was very dry. My husband got the benny and we both really like their brunch potato

Most foodies have been here at least once over the years. If you haven't been here in awhile, it's time to come back and enjoy new brunch menu. We shared the short rib hash, tavern burger & apple cinnamon cake. We all agreed the cinnamon cake was outstanding and the tavern burger was wayyy above average. Too good! Oh and the Paloma cocktail, made with passion fruit, was a hit out of the park. Even the service was very good. Thank you Sam! Plenty of parking in the back. Outdoor seating on high st. For folks who like people watching, especially during Saturday Farmers Market.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday. Right as you walk in, the establishment looks clean, nice, and professional. The hostesses all wear dresses, and everyone simply looks very put together. They helped us to our table quickly. Our server was very kind and waited for our whole group to show up, without ever rushing us. Both food and drinks came out fairly quickly. I've heard great things about the french toast, and it was decent, not outstanding but not a bad thing to order. Everything looked well-presented on the plate. Our only real complaint is we were seated right by the A/C, and when it turned on, it was absolutely freezing. At one point, we had to run to the car just to get a coat (and this was mid-September, so it was hot outside). I wasn't even sitting the closest to it, but my food turned cold because of it. On a positive note, we were talking to my brother about his birthday, and even though we never told the waitress directly, she brought out a dessert cake for him. It was very sweet.

Met a good friend for lunch here and forgot how much I love this place. Upon arrival we check in and were seated in a booth in the back. The Inside of the restaurant has a bit of a classy casual feel and look. Everything is clean and set for dinning upon arrival. There is even some outdoor seating on the patio. The menu is slightly different from the last time I ate here but it's been a few years. The Tavern Stack Burger ($19); double beef patty, Berkshire bacon, brie and gruyere cheeses. Served with a side of tomato jam and tavern fries. Definitely recommend this burger! I ate every bite. My friend had the Wild Salmon "Nicoise" ($24); arugula greens loaded with hard boiled eggs, purple potatoes, grape tomatoes, Kalamata olives, haricot verts and herb vinaigrette. Concluded the meal with some dessert. We split a piece of the Olive Oil Cake ($9). It had an orange-blackberry caramel sauce topped with fresh cream and some blackberries scattered on the plate. I had booked a reservation on OpenTable prior to arrival to make sure we had a spot but it wasn't too busy. Found parking right on High Street but there are some additional parking in the rear and surrounding area. Consistent quality of food and service and absolutely recommend.

A hidden gem! Had never heard of this spot but my mom took me to celebrate medical school graduation. Very much a peaceful vibe inside - but very modern and clean. Food was impressively good - the stack burger was like no burger I've ever had before and I have the brie/gruyere cheese + tomato jam tandem to thank for that. Made an otherwise less-classy dish into one of luxury. The star of the show was the brussells sprouts - perfectly crispy with the perfect amount of parmesan and seasoning to make every bite a potent one. Lastly, the server (and manager) took their time to ask about what occasion we were celebrating and (without us asking) provided a free dessert which was just so unnecessarily generous... and delicious! Just an incredibly personal experience which... how could you ask for any more in a restaurant!?

Parking was easy since there is a free lot out back and there is a decent amount of street parking nearby. We got there during the hour between lunch and dinner where they are flipping the restaurant for the next meal. The server asked us if we would still like to come in and get some drinks and hang out until food was ready. We decided it was worth the wait. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive. She even brought me a bag of ice for the milk I had to pump during the meal. We ordered some drinks and talked for a little while and she came back promptly at four to take our food orders. I ordered the seasonal salad, which had an incredible house made peppercorn vinaigrette, Delicata, squash, mixed greens, blueberries, walnuts, and a few other things. I also got a side of beer battered fries with Housemade ranch. Everything I got was five stars. I will honestly be dreaming about that salad and wish they sold the salad dressing by the bottle. I kind of regret not asking for something to go. My sisters enjoyed spinach artichoke dip, a burger, a pizza, the salmon dish, the hot honey brussels sprouts, the nonalcoholic wine, a strawberry lemonade, and a cocktail. The prices were pretty good, especially given the quality of food. The restaurant got pretty busy throughout the night, so it seems as though it is a fan favorite in the area. However, it never got too loud and there seemed to be enough seating that people didn't have to wait. It was a decent size dining room and they had a covered patio out back. I would definitely return and would recommend this place to a friend.

First Visit to Worthington Tavern…read more Friday, June 5, 2026 | 3:30 PM Quick Facts Most entrées: $16-$19 ‍ Server: Emily (kind, attentive, and welcoming) Indoor dining plus front and rear patios with booth, table, and high-top seating Easy parking Relaxed atmosphere that made conversation easy Ordered: Porch Swinging cocktail, Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich with blackened chicken and upgraded Brussels sprouts, OKC Smash Burger with bacon Worthington Tavern made a strong first impression before the food ever arrived. The patio is easily one of the most visually appealing dining spaces I've visited recently. Between the greenery-covered walls, woven seating, oversized fans, and open-air layout, it feels like a greenhouse and cocktail lounge had a very attractive child together. It's the kind of place where you find yourself wanting to stay awhile, and honestly, the atmosphere had me excited before I even opened the menu. Our server, Emily, was fantastic throughout the visit--friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant to interact with. The Porch Swinging cocktail ended up being one of the highlights of the afternoon. As someone who isn't a huge drinker and usually struggles with paying appetizer prices for cocktails, I actually enjoyed this one. Refreshing, balanced, and easy to sip on while enjoying the patio. For food, I ordered the Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich with blackened chicken and upgraded my side to the Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts. The sandwich comes with avocado, arugula, pickled red onion, pepper jack cheese, honey mustard spread, and a ciabatta bun. Credit where it's due: the chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy, tender, and moist throughout. The ciabatta was also much softer and fresher than it looked. Unfortunately, this was also where my biggest critique of the meal started to emerge. Everything looked like it should have tasted better than it did. The blackened seasoning barely made an appearance. The pepper jack cheese was surprisingly mild. The arugula didn't contribute much beyond color, and the pickled onions looked far more pickled than they actually tasted. My biggest disappointment was the avocado. When I read avocado on the menu, I pictured fresh slices. Instead, it arrived as warm mashed avocado spread across the bread. It wasn't seasoned enough to stand on its own and ended up taking away from the sandwich more than adding to it. The chicken itself was also noticeably smaller than the bun, leaving the sandwich feeling a bit out of balance. The best way I can describe it is this: it reminded me of those COVID days when you weren't quite sure if your taste buds had fully returned. Every bite gave little glimpses of flavor, but nothing ever fully arrived. Not flavorless, just surprisingly muted. The Brussels sprouts told a similar story. Visually, they looked outstanding. Crispy edges, bacon crumbles, goat cheese, and plenty of color. They were perfectly acceptable, but ultimately landed in the "decent" category. I wouldn't order them again, but I wouldn't complain if they showed up on the table either. My dining companion ordered the OKC Smash Burger with bacon, and this ended up being the stronger entrée. Fresh ingredients, a good bun, quality beef, and a generous portion of fries. It looked fantastic when it arrived. Once again, though, it felt like it stopped just short of where it could have been. The burger tasted like fresh beef and quality ingredients, but also like it was waiting for someone to introduce it to salt and pepper. It was good, and if I returned tomorrow, I'd probably order a burger before I'd order the chicken sandwich again. What made this visit interesting is that the atmosphere, service, and cocktail all exceeded expectations, while the food consistently landed somewhere between decent and good when it looked like it was aiming for great. Nothing was bad. Nothing needed sent back. I just kept finding myself wanting a little more flavor than what was actually reaching the plate. 3/5 I'd absolutely return for the patio, drinks, brunch curiosity, or one of their events. The foundation is there, and the space alone makes Worthington Tavern worth experiencing at least once. If you've been here before, what's the dish that keeps you coming back?

While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined.

It was hard to tell if we'd said something wrong or if he was just having an off night, but even after asking other staff members to send him over, he never came back to check on our table. With automatic gratuity already added for a large party, it was disappointing to experience such minimal attention and care. What I had: * Mediterranean Salmon (shared): The portion split felt more like 75/25 than an even share, which was a little odd for something asked to be split. The salmon itself was decent, but the hummus quickly overpowered the dish if you mixed everything together. * Teriyaki Ribeye: I requested medium rare and received a steak well past well-done, dry enough that it was basically inedible. It almost tasted like it had been reheated rather than freshly cooked. Since our server never checked in, I had to flag someone else down to get it replaced, and the remake took about 15 minutes to arrive--even though the cut was thin and already marinated. * Old Fashioned: The cocktail came out quite watered down, with very little depth of flavor. I would've asked for it to be remade, but again, our server was nowhere to be found. The bar program also felt surprisingly limited for a place that leans into a social, cocktail-forward vibe, which added to the letdown. Between the uneven service, lack of follow-through, and several misses on the food and drinks, it's hard to say I'd rush back--especially when there are so many other strong options in Columbus.
